  • @LakeR2014 - I don't have major issues with your pajama idea, but (as I've mentioned before) I don't spend any time braless so that would not fly for me. Even at night I sleep in a sports bra or a tanktop with builtin shelf (or both!)  These girls very rarely fly free

  • Pajamas are a must but the ladies only fly free when I'm sleeping. They are currently too big to be flopping around unsupported.

My UO is I can no longer stand Papa Johns pizza.. I have had it so much over the last year that the thought makes me sick. Pizza Hut all the way!! Oh and I also hate Delta airlines and their shitty customer service.

  • UO: i agree bras should just die. I used to hardly wear one PP... if i dont have to wear it im not, mostly applies when im at home. if im out i wear one now, dont want to "offend". I only wear one at home if my back starts getting sore. I think the inventor of bras, AND SHE WAS A WOMAN WTF!, is nuts.
  • No, no, no to any pizza chains. There are entirely too many local pizza shops with much better pizza. (Or is that a regional thing and I'm just lucky?)

  • @PSUBecky23 - We have a lot of local pizza shops, but most of them do more "specialty/novelty" pizzas if that makes sense?  Really good, local ingredients and unique flavor combinations.  Trust me, I LOVE that pizza... but sometimes I just want pizza-pizza, nothing fancy, maybe even a little greasy.. and for that I go with the chains.  The two somehow fill two almost completely different cravings for me.

In Pennsylvania we are very lucky with our infinite pizza selections. I have friends who moved south and Midwest who do not have the options for pizza like we do here

We're very spoiled. I need my real pizza shop pizza.

  • @PSUBecky23 - Pizza is usually a "oh shit, I'm hungry and I need something" kind of meal, and for that, the chains are definitely better. I'd have to drive waaaay further to get to the specialty pizza places, and wait way longer, and usually have to eat there, rather than get takeout.

But the specialty pizza is usually tastier, I'll give you that.
  •  @poodledoodleooo that's sad to me. There are multiple pizza shops within five minutes of my house where I can get a basic pizza delivered quite quickly. (The delivery guy from our go-to shop knows us by name :D)

  • I'm with @AnnaS930 on bras and pizza.

Rarely do I not wear a bra. I need the support and barrier between my nips and shirt (partly for THO reasons, partly for comfort), even at night.

Specialty pizza is better, but different than chain pizza. I crave them separately, and treat them as separate entities. Just like White Castle wouldn't fill my desire for a cheeseburger, but I still like and want it for what it is. (But maybe this just shows I will eat anything.)

  • I used to never wear a bra, but I just can't do it now, which is frustrating since I'm not really used to wearing one.

My nipples are too sensitive these days and it's so, so obvious that I don't have a bra on (my nipples are like mini cone bra cups and poke out of even loose shirts ).

I'm feeling feisty, so I'm just going to go ahead and bring up the Harambe incident:

    I blame the parents.

I'm gonna be obnoxious and DD. Can't get sucked into another debate about gorilla gate.

  • I've been trying to avoid it, but I can't help how I feel... I also blame the parents. Not entirely, but I believe they are partly at fault. I tend to extend debates on here, so I'm going to let this be my only post on this. But I hate to hear people say only people with no children feel this way. My daughter has darted away from me (recently, in fact). I know it happened because I was distracted when I shouldn't have been. If something had happened to her in the minute it took me to find her, I would have blamed myself forever over it.

  • Nah, not biting on the Harambe bait. There's too much to it, and too much that we don't (and probably won't ever) know. No thanks.

  • I don't like getting into debates in this group because I prefer to be non-confrontational and I love this group and love that we all get along (besides, the snark I loved and participated in from TTGP is nonexistent here) so I haven't said anything.

I think the biggest problem with gorilla gate is social media giving a voice to many who shouldn't have one. This is a crappy situation and, yes, many parents will tell you they'd never let their child out of their sight at the zoo, but it happened and it is bound to happen since we're humans and no one is perfect. We all make shitty mistakes that we might not even realize because we are lucky enough not to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. A child falling in or getting into an enclosure doesn't happen often (what, once every decade or two?), but the expectation that it never happens at all is impossible as no person is perfect. If the parents are found negligent in other situations, that's a different story, but even the most responsible parents turn around at a store and panic for a second when they see their child is not by their side.

  • I just don't understand how all these witnesses heard the little boy say he was going in the enclosure, yet no one saw him entering it. I'm not necessarily blaming the parents, but I can't help but feel someone saw him and didn't help. It's not like he tripped and fell in, it was a deliberate act.

I also have a problem that we, as a society, are so comfortable videotaping these things on our phones. I mean it could have been very gruesome, and yet someone thought it was a good idea to record it. Perhaps this is a separate UO...
  • CRich15 I'm still in shock that you don't like Papa Johns...

At least in my part of town, no good specialty pizzas to be had. Plus app, delivery and earning free pizzas? Done.

  • @AnnaS930 the scale can piss off... I stepped on it today and wanted to cry but then I said F it!

I don't really care to jump on gorilla gate debate but I am one of those parents that use a child leash (no flames please) when we are in large public areas such as the one in this situation.  We used it with our oldest and then our youngest after we said that we would never use one before we had kids.  I'm not saying we treat our children as animals but after I had to lock down a Wal-Mart a couple times because they have run off (DH was conveniently deployed and I was distracted by shopping), it was easier for me to hold their hand with a little back up.  We did have it on our youngest last week while on vacation but we didn't really use it.  He didn't try to run off, thank goodness, but I liked that I had a better hold of him while we were in those really crowded areas. I'm not saying one particular party is at fault but take precautions if your child is a notorious runner..

  • I have worked at two different theme parks (sea world and Disneyland) and I have witnessed parents allow their kids to do stupid things. At sea world, I have seen kids pick up sharks at a touch pool and pull them out of the water, I have seen parents pull on a dolphin's tail fluke to hold on to the animal so their kid gets a longer interaction or kids stick their hands in the dolphin's mouth. I watched a teenager try to steal a living sea star. Many people don't realize that these animals are real and there are consequences for their actions. And of course, when the dolphin or shark bite the kid, it's very much sea world's fault. At Disneyland I witnessed a parent place their three year old in the middle of the parade route to take a picture with the giant parade float. I also blame the parents and my heart breaks for Harambe's keepers. I agree they made the right choice but I also think the conversation needs to be shifted to the fact that zoos, aquariums and theme parks are NOT babysitters
  • @CRich15 my daughter is both a runner and a child with very strong opinions. Guess how she feels about a leash?

    Three year olds are fun.

  • My UO is that I can't stand Beyoncé. I'm sorry. I think she's ridiculously overrated and I just don't get it. I know she has her whole "BeyHive" or whatever it's called and they are super possessive over her so I hope I don't offend anyone too much. But I think she comes off as super arrogant.

Also- T-Swift and Calvin Harris. Is anyone really that surprised that they broke up? She hasn't written any new music for a while; she probably needs some good material for her last album before she goes on hiatus. What better way than to break up with another guy and write 12 creepy, obsessive, ex-girlfriend ballads?
Totally agree about Beyoncé. But, perhaps an UO, I hate when people say this stuff about T Swift, like she is the only person on earth that writes songs about break ups. And even if she was, I wish I had the talent to turn a break up into a multimillion dollar profit. I just feel like there is a double standard here.
  • Way off topic but just realized this:  @ahackett1990 you got married the same day as my DH and I did and our EDD is only one day off (We're 9/16)!  I just found that interesting/cool. :)    Happy Early Anniversary!

  • I liked Beyoncé as part of destiny's child but slowly started disliking her when she went solo. I also very much dislike Justin timberlake. He was ok when he was part of *NSYNC but I can't really stand him or his music now
  • This seems to be an UO for everyone I know IRL, but I HATE peanut butter.
