2nd Trimester

SCH in 2nd tri ** previous loss mentioned **

Hi ladies - I am feeling really down . At about 5-6 weeks I was admitted to the ER for heavy bleeding and cramping and was diagnosed with a SCH . It resolved itself in a couple days and baby was fine . No bleeding until ... Yesterday at 15 weeks I woke up to heavy heavy bleeding and mild cramping . I rushed to the hospital thinking "this pregnancy is done " as I've already experienced a loss before . An abdominal and trans vaginal sonogram was done and my cervix and baby looked wonderful . Baby was measuring on track and heart beat was strong . They found two SCHs on my images that were confirmed by a high risk specialist . They recommended I take it easy until the bleeding stops but said that this currently does not pose a risk to my babe due to the locations of these SCHs . The doc really didn't seem too concerned .

has anyone dealt with this ? I don't know why I am still so worried about my little dude . It's hard to stay calm when I have what feels like the heaviest period of my life . It's def letting up some but I am just so worried .

  • @mskeenan, did you do any fertility treatments?  They seem to be more common with those who have. We did ivf and had 2 separate times when I had the large bleed, feared the worst and was told it was a sch. We were told as long as it is not bigger than the sac or surrounding it, it isn't much a concern. I took it easy, rested and stayed in bed as much as possible and they both bled themselves out.
It's hard not to worry, but they are very common.
  • Yes @suchaglencoco I did IVF ! Yah it seems they are more common than I thought . I went to a prenatal yoga class this morning and met someone who had multiple also .

  • I'm glad you got out and met others who had sch bleeds and continued to have healthy pregnancies. I hope it eased your mind.
