  I think Claire is definitely classic, so even if it is popular I wouldn't consider it trendy. FWIW I also only know one.

  It's classic popular and classic never goes out of style. It's not trendy nor will it be dated.

  I don't think Claire is trendy at all, but yes, in my area quite popular. I know at least 6, ranging in age from baby to 8.

  I wouldn't call it trendy but it does seem to be popping up again frequently, at least in my area (NYC/NJ). I see it more often as a MN though.

  It's too popular for me personally but it feels very classic. I know 2 little Claire/Clares and also 2 Claras.

  Thank you for your input, ladies. It's nice to see it's a well received name. I suppose that while I agree that it's a classic name, another classic name that comes to mind is Isabel (Isabella), and that has become SO popular. I'd hate to see Claire become as commonly used.

  Claire is classic and so has always been somewhat popular, but it's no where near the Olivia et al names in terms of usage. I think you're fine to use it.

  I know several Claire under the age 6. That being said, out of all the 'popular ' ones, it's my favorite. 
  
  Just don't pair it with Grace.... that is just was to trendy.

  I'm assuming its popularity is regional. Check the social security website for your area. I'm a kindergarten teacher in CA and I've never had a Claire in five years of teaching.
