Waiting to O : May edition

Re: Waiting to O : May edition

  • I concur @snobunniemel on the idea to get our own space when we are hopefully KU. Hate that all our O16 people are here (and other BMB members as well) but so happy that we found a safe space here for the time being :)
  • Eek... My H had "performance issues" yesterday evening. We haven't discussed the fact it's my FW, so it can't have been from nerves. He suggested it's because we've been really active lately (having BD'd the past few consecutive days) and reminded me that it happened in college once. I couldn't remember this, and he told me with an annoying grin that I was just as freaked out then, because we were 20 yrs old. But if this happens only once a decade, then he's fine...
Also, he was put on blood pressure medication a few months ago and said that he's still learning what side effects it may have. Hmm. We BD'd a lot last month and didn't have this issue, but maybe he has a point?

Still... I'm supposed to ovulate either today or tomorrow, so I'm really hoping that tonight we're back to it. Hoo boy. FX.  :#

  • @dubcompanion it sucks missing BD times when you're in your FW. Last night I was too upset about my cat to BD. Of course I wake up this morning to really strong OV pains and will more than likely ovulate today (I'm not tracking anything this month). And of course DH has to work late today. He promised he would still be home in time to BD though so here's hoping.

  • @MooFish2364 I completely understand about not being in the mood. I'm only tracking CM and other typical O symptoms. All natural signs say "go forth." FX to both of us that we can make some sparks fly tonight.
  • So I don't know if anyone here can answer this, but is anyone familiar with/experienced side effects from clomid? I am taking black cohosh this cycle as a natural alternative and have noticed headaches, crazy mood swings and so much bloating my rings won't fit past my knuckle. It's supposed to work in a smilie manner and I am hoping that this is the reason and not just me going crazy.

Just st thought to add the article I found about success with it in case others are interested.

@SnobunnieMel I've done multiple rounds of Clomid (just started up again yesterday) and only one cycle/round did I have any weird side effects.  I had headaches and some lower back pain; the headaches I attributed to the hormones but otherwise, nothing the other rounds.  I am up to 200mg this time, which is the max dosage my RE will monitor me on so I am cautiously waiting to see if there are any effects this round.  As if none of us haven't been through enough, right?! I am definitely going to read through the article though, thanks for sharing!

Did you do any rounds of Clomid?

Edited because I have fat fingers
  • I have only done one round of clomid. The only issue I had was feeling super warm all the time for the first two days. Otherwise I didn't have any side effects aside from growing lots of follicles and the pressure from that. i have heard from there though that the side effects can be terrible. Do you have PCOS? I do not and was curious if that was why I reacted so minimally to it?

Thanks for for the article, very interesting.

    @SnobunnieMel
  • @BornReady I do have PCOS and was hoping this would help with eqq quality
  • Hey ladies, jumping over here on CD1, 2nd cycle after loss.

My first cycle post-loss was really easy but this one is really triggering, like others mentioned.  I woke up with really awful cramps and it is bad enough I'm taking a sick day.  Hoping it is short, my AF is usually only 4 days despite having long cycles (last one was 38 days).

You all are so right about how amazing this group is.  I was September 16 and never quite fit in there but I always feel welcome and supported here.  I hope we can keep tabs on each other even when we graduate.  I may have cried a little about losing you lovelies as everyone gets KU.

I hope everyone is gettin' down and ready for the TWW!

Back over here too at CD3, starting my 3rd cycle after loss. Went to see my OB/GYN yesterday and she gave me the official blessing to TTC now that I've had 2 periods since my D&C (even though this past cycle we weren't really preventing anything)- the first and second cycle were kind of wacky so I am hoping this one will be closer to normal. AF is back to baseline where my first AF was much lighter than usual so I don't think my lining was fully back to where it should be. After talking to her I feel a lot more positive/optimistic going forward. Ready for the TWW :)
  • Hello, CD 1 and feeling better than yesterday. I get so dragged down by the unknown - and it was a hell of a bad time this cycle. I think they may have been positive, but here I am anyway ready for the next round. 4th cycle after loss.

Yes! Maybe we can start a lil private group for grads and ttcal-ers, just to see how everyone is doing.

  • I fully support a private group when we graduate. The PGAL board seems to have fallen down lately, all the actives must be snuggling their rainbows, so we need a good spot for us regardless of our future BMBs
  • I have had very little energy to give as a participant lately, but have been lurking. I'm in a bit of a funk - like others have experienced - it comes in waves and this week has been a rough one. In part because my bday is Saturday; and also just because life is hard even with out all this fertility bullshit.

I did want to offer to @SnobunnieMel that I am on a small does of Clomid to help improve egg  quality and this is my second cycle using it. I did not experience any noticeable side effects last month and took my 1/2 pill last night and will take another 1/2 tonight.

I am on CD 8 and will take a shot of Menopur on tomorrow and Saturday (Happy 38th to me?!), have U/S scheduled for Monday morning and will determine trigger and BD schedule then.

    Love to y'all . . .

I try and remind myself that getting older is a privilege, unfortunately it just doesn't mesh with my TTC aspirations. Lots of love to you and wishing you good things in this new year!

As far as keeping in touch when we graduate, yes please! I honestly don't know how I would have survived the past few months without this board.

YES @reneeannemm & @SnobunnieMel :) I am all for a place to go besides PGAL and even BMB.  I took part in both and this group/board is by far the best for support, information and kindness towards one another.

@fivetimesnoluck I am sorry you're having a rough time right now.  I hope you're still able to do something fun on your birthday.  Birthdays and holidays in general are tough now.

CD1 here, hopefully June is the month for all of us.
  • I wonder -  I suppose PGAL fits the criteria that we are talking about but the atmosphere is so different that I could see a different board being beneficial. Would be quiet for months over there though - because graduates would be the primary posters and we wouldn't have many for a few months...

I forgot this happened last time - it really ramps up with pain and red spotting, but doesn't actually bother to start until I've had a 16 day luteal phase. That seems awfully long; I hope it's not a problem.

  • I'm pretty sure 16 is still within the "normal range" @reneeannemm and that there would be more concern if it was short (less than 10 days), so hopefully nothing to worry about....but, alas, we are no longer cycle twins lol But still pretty close!
  • Longer LP is better @reneeannemm and I believe 16 is under normal range. It is after 18 high temps that you can say you are pregnant for sure.

  • Does anyone else have odd mood changes with O? I tested with OPKs yesterday AM, and got a Low on my Clearablue and negatives on my Wondfos. I had a great day at work, came home and went for a walk with DH after dinner. We were talking about something innocuous and I practically burst into tears! So emotional. Anyways, got home around 8, took a Wondfo because I was so out of it and figured something was up and got a blaring positive, stuck in a Clearable and got a Peak reading. What the eff, no warning at all. I also had total insomnia last night, I literally slept like an hour and a half. Bring on the TWW, hopefully my hormones will give me a break!

  • @BornReady I do not have many emotional hormonal issues post loss, but I do have a tremendous amount of trouble sleeping during my follicular phase. I hope you get some rest tonight.

Official CD 1 today. TW yuck below:

Lot of grey clots. Thinking those were positive tests; hoping it's just something weird. Well, here we are. Feeling OK, aside from the horrible cramping (which should subside in few hours) and extreme fatigue.

  • I think I have the waiting to O version of TWW crazies. I literally check a wondfo everytime I go to the bathroom right now waiting for my surge. The cycle of my first BFP it was day 14, the cycle after the CP it was 15 and 16. I am 14 today and going insane waiting
  • @reneeannemm I'm sorry, it's all just horrible. Hope the cramping subsides soon.

@snobunniemel I hear you on the waiting to O crazies. Sometimes I catch myself peeing into cups to test when there is no reason. In what other situation is it normalized to pee in a cup, clearly only for my crazy self. Hope O comes soon!
  • Coming out of the recesses of a crazy work and life schedule to check here. Big hugs to everyone!

@reneeannemm I'm sorry about CD1 and the physical nature of it this time. I hope AF is subsiding somewhat for you today.

@snobunniemel and @bornready I have purposely avoided OPKs because I know I would be a crazy lady with them, plus I've always had strong O pain, which coupled with temping has been pretty helpful for me. I was afraid I wouldn't get O pains anymore after this first loss, but alas, they are here again, worse, and lasting longer. I will be happy to see you in the TWW.

Also, to speak to the TTCAL board idea, I think that would be great but obviously go off to a slow start initially most likely as we slowly get BFP's. The PGAL board was wonderful but mostly dead when I was over there. I tried to start a weekly check-in, which kind of died when I left as everyone is having their rainbows now.

I think I'm heading to the TWW now. Timing was not optimal due to DH getting sick so most likely I'll be back here soon.
  • Yes, thank you, everyone. Lucky for me, AF calms down after the first day significantly. It's the damn lead up and first day. I'm fine now, though always a little fatigued for a few days. I've been added extra coffee I just realized each failed cycle -- now I'm on three espressos a day again. Should probably cut back, but it's how I console myself.

  • @reneeannemm after my loss I had really bad migraines, so I upped my caffeine intake to address them.  And then I just haven't been sleeping well, so more coffee...I'm basically buying lattes now to console myself each morning when I go to work.  I feel like I should cut back but little motivation.

  • @reneeannemm Thanks. And YES! To the coffee addiction ramping up. I've had to force myself to wean to half-caff lately because it was getting out of hand. It was one of the ways I consoled myself after my losses. Plus, in my line of work, coffee is referred to as "nectar of the Gods" by many and you are expected to like it and drink as much as you can to stay awake. So everyone is always offering me another cup. Ugh.
