@canavara YAY! I'm so glad that went well for you.
@sweetyjenj I think the rule with hpt is that it's a yes or no. Not a degree like opks. The darkness shouldn't technically have any effect so long as you're getting a visible line. Maybe stop peeing on things, but if you must get a digi or something. Clear cut and nothing to read into.
Thanks everyone!!! I just used my last test anyway, so I'll stop now lol
@canavaraYAY I'm so glad it went that well at work!!!!!
@kellybean1988it would be SUPER cool if you got a surprise one at 12wks!!! I'll mention the risk for multiples, hopefully that'll help. I think it'll even help me feel better hearing only one heartbeat, at the very least.
@sldp123I was using FRER, and technically my period is due tomorrow, so it's still early days yet anyway. It just seems all too good to be true. I need to relax and just enjoy it lol Thanks for your feedback on the line strength. How did you know your beta levels?? Is there a test for that? Ugh or maybe I need to stop testing anything until my 8wk apt...
@mylitta good to know the line strength doesn't mean much, I'll just stop now lol I just like to know that my body is doing what it should..but I should just relax and let me body do it's thing. It should know what to do!
@sweetyjenj I was working with an RE, so they did betas to confirm the pregnancy. It's a blood test. I'm not sure if most/any normal OBs do them, or if they do it only if there's any sign of a problem.
DS: June 2008 Married: July 2015 BFP: 5/20/16 | EDD: 1/28/17 | Twin boys born 1/16/17
@sweetyjenj I wondered about betas too, since I'd seen people talking about them on the Bump, but when I called to make my appointment, I asked and they said there was no need for me to come in and do blood tests. I think they typically only do it for people working with RE's or at a sign of a problem.

You guys. I am so exhausted. and I have NOTHING TO DO AT WORK. This is our absolute slowest time of year and I am literally just sitting at my desk researching cloth diapering all day--but the fatigue is killing me. Ahhhhh first world problems. I still have an hour and 45 minutes until I can go home. WHY
TTC January 2016 BFP May 17, 2016 DS born January 31st, 2017: Rory "Mac" MacKinnon
@sweetyjenj@Lecool Honestly I think betas are stressful too because if they don't do exactly what they're supposed to you can freak out for no good reason. I only had them because I ovulated late and my doctors wanted to get an idea of how far along I would be. My first beta only went from like 24 to 40 in two days and I was so nervous. My next ones more than doubled and the three days of freaking out were unnecessary.
@kellybean1988 My super duper exhaustion hasn't set in yet but I have had some. Weirdly enough I notice mine is worse in the morning which seems really strange. When I first get to work I feel like there's no way I'll make it through the day and then I somehow magically survive and feel ok for the rest of the day. I do go to bed by 9 every night though.
Today is the first day I'm feeling more exhausted than usual. I also made myself a smaller cup of coffee this morning though but i feel like I couldn't possibly make it without a nap. Everything seems so far away, too. And I'm more hungry. And my boobs feel so much more sore today than yesterday. And tummy is a tiny bit funny sometimes. Not quite nauseous, but somewhat.
On a side note...when I called to make my first apt they made me pick a hospital I'll be delivering at. So today we did a tour of a great place and have a few friends that delivered there with exceptional experiences, so we picked our hospital I didn't realize we'd need to do that so soon!
@AliciaGoose yes! I now know the feeling everyone keeps talking about... that fear when suddenly symptoms stop.. My nips are even less hurty right now. Such nerves!

I woke up to cantaloupe sized breasts this morning. I didn't even think my boobs could swell any bigger. And today I had all of the tears. I couldn't get it under control!!
Guys, speaking of boobs...I did not wear a bra to work today! lol this works for me because #1 I have a small bust #2 big clothes #3 it's an arctic frozen tundra in my office so I always have about 10 sweaters on. No one will know and sweet, sweet relief for me.
On an unrelated note: my DH is in Orlando (he auditioned for a music group down there with his brother, neither of them got callbacks which is fine because I did NOT want to move there) and called me last night to tell me he had about a thousand mosquito bites on his legs. I know that there have been NO local US cases of Zika to date, so I don't need to worry about HIO with him after he gets back, right? Something tells me to play it safe and just wait for a few weeks, but idk.

So I am thinking about chaning obs bc the one I have now does not deliver at the hospital id want to deliver at.. I just called they have openings and would see me June 20th but not an ultrasound.. Um. Hm she said she may schedule one at that meeting.. But ik I would be having one at my existing ob. I'm not sure what to do!

@kellybean1988 I wouldn't be worried (I live in Florida and no one's concerned about it here IRL) but if you're feeling cautious just use a condom. That's what's suggested by the CDC.

How are you feeling? I've been so so so sick and pukey since the weekend. I called my doc in tears on Monday because DH is out of town but I have a 10 month old who really needs Mama to peel herself off the floor and feed and change her. Long story short my insurance declined to cover any MS meds so I'm currently on unisom+b6 and it's seriously made life living. But my nipples hurt something fierce.
R/R/Other: Insurance is making me stabby- we're with a different company than we were with DD's pregnancy and I'm less than impressed with them.
Questions: Hmm. Nothing at the moment.
GTKY - What is your favorite game (board game, card game, video game, party game, etc!)? Could be current or from childhood if you don't play much of anything now! I love word games. Scrabble and Bananagrams are top of my list.
@katesmama0706 So sorry you have to go through that alone while trying to care for another LO! I hope your MS gives you some relief soon. Health insurance is the devil.

@Lecool it's the pits! DH called his mom who lives semi close and asked her to check in and see if I needed her help and she goes "well she just needs to not think about it and she'll be fine" Lady please. I'd love to not think about throwing up all day. Counting days til he comes home!
@katesmama0706 What? How are you supposed to not think about that? If you could simply will your MS away, you probably wouldn't have needed to go the doctor's to try and get a prescription to help you manage it.

@Lecool with my first pregnancy I was throwing up nearly every hour and she called me and told me that if I was working (we had recently moved and the MS monster struck before I found anything new) that I wouldn't be so sick because I wouldn't have time to be sick. I very rudely informed her that "no, it just means I would be throwing up at work instead of at home" Brat face.
@katesmama0706 thanks I think I will! My sister said I will still get to hear the heart beat and that is what I'm most looking for so Though this ob does not have Saturday appts!

@cabu14 I'd totally switch OBs over hospital preference. It's early enough now to find one you like in that hospital
Agree with this. If there's ever a good time to switch OBs, it's while you're in your first trimester. I switched OBs with my last pregnancy because the hospital he delivered at turned out to not even be in the same town, which was super weird to me. They didn't seem to care at all when I called to cancel my appointments--didn't even ask why.
@katesmama0706 I am so sorry that you're feeling nasty and, on top of it all, that you're working with another LO and you are having insurance issues! I hope you feel better soon and that the other issues clear up as well. Thinking of you!

You guys! I woke up this morning with some majorly bloodshot eyes--decided to not wear my contacts today, they are still bloodshot now. Of course I googled it and found this little gem:
" Hormonal changes during pregnancy can affect your eyes in many ways. Your eyes may become red and bloodshot, as well as dry, itchy and sensitive to light.
Pregnancy also can alter the shape of your cornea and you may develop an intolerance to contact lenses or even experience blurry vision. These problems, including eye redness, usually are temporary and resolve completely within weeks or months after childbirth."
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?? Now this is a symptom that I did NOT expect!

I had some bright red bleeding when I wiped this morning. I have been freaking out since. I called the OB they scheduled me to get my blood drawn today and Saturday. I am assuming to check what a lot of women here call my betas(?) she said the numbers should double between today and Saturday. With the holiday on Monday, I won't get the results until Tuesday. I'm nervous. I have not been fatigued since Monday so my mind is going nuts. I wasn't sure if I should post anything, but I'm scared, and the H can only say "Everything is going to be OK."

@cabu14 I've been in those shoes before, twice now, and it's never easy. I'm very sorry that you're having to go through that disheartening sight on the tp. But - you've done exactly the right thing. You've called your doctor, and they are taking care of you. Remind yourself that you are doing everything in your power to maintain a healthy pregnancy, and the rest is out of your hands. You are doing everything right that you can do. I can tell you to try to relax all night long, but I know that won't do anything to make you feel better. From personal experience, I find distracting myself works best. I was having a bad day yesterday, and someone suggested doing things that keep both hands busy. It really seems to help. If I find myself worrying incessantly, I try to remind myself that worry will not change the outcome, but it will make me miserable in the moment. Maybe that could help you, too. Either way, you're in my thoughts tonight and will be over the weekend. We're all rooting for you and your baby bear.
@cjs260 Thanks.. I will try to take that advice. I have a wedding tomorrow so that might help.. but now I'm afraid of dancing - idk if that even makes sense. I bought the first book in game of thrones (trying to get on the bandwagon) so maybe that will help too. Thanks for the idea.
