@kellybean1988 I like that mantra. I'll start doing that too.

Also, I hear you on the hungry every two hours thing. Plus, I've been taking daily naps. SO EXHAUSTED.

I'm also terrified to have sex. I've turned H down twice because I'm scared.

  • @Lecool  I was REALLY nervous about sex too. Like really. But then I just was like...whatever, people have been doing this since the dawn of time and have been just fine. I freaked a little about the bleeding, but it stopped within a few hours and wasn't even enough to get on a panty liner. I am such a dweeb and texted my mom about it (this is me when I had to text her to explain the situation therefore telling her I had sex w/ DH)

She told me she had the same after exercise classes (lol) when she was KU with my brother and to be worried if there was cramping, and there wasn't...so it made me feel better. lol. All in all, I was fine...but I totally get being scared about it!

  • @Lecool @kellybean1988 So glad to not be alone in the "afraid to have sex" club. OH and I had sex for the very first time since before BFP this morning. It had been a month. It was reassuring to read a bunch of stuff in the Mayo pregnancy book and the What To Expect pregnancy book that said sex does not cause loss. Didn't even bleed or cramp after, but I was *terrified*

@canavara It's funny you mention that about your boobs--mine are not all that sore either. And good question about buying stuff!   I bought 2 onesies in Disney World last year before we even started TTC, but since then, I haven't bought anything, and I probably will wait until my first appt at 12 weeks to get anything else. I did satisfy my desire to buy ALL THE THINGS though by starting my baby registry online. I'm using babylist--have you heard of it? It lets you add any item from ANY online store to one big registry, including sites like Etsy and The Green Nursery (which I am all about).  You can make your registry "secret" so that you're the only one who sees it until you're ready to share it with the world. I just put a nursery night light on it this morning (that's the only thing I have on there, lol). Here is the website :  https://babyli.st/

I am going to go shopping this weekend for comfy maternity/nursing bras and maybe some comfy pants. I figure that if there's anything I need RIGHT NOW and that I won't be sad about having if anything happens, it's comfy pants and bras. You can always use those, right?

  • How far along are you? EDD?  7w3d

How are you feeling? SOOOOO TIRED. I wish it was my job to sleep. I would so nail it. Also nauseous (but no throwing up).

R/R/Other:  I found my dream stroller on Craigslist last night for half the price AND they are including a bassinet attachment, which is a HUGE deal. I know it's still early in my pregnancy but I want it so bad. I am trying to convince my husband to at least go and look at it with me. We shall see...

    Questions: None today!

GTKY - What is your favorite game (board game, card game, video game, party game, etc!)? Could be current or from childhood if you don't play much of anything now! I love Mortal Kombat so much. I also love Rock Band and Just Dance. As for board games, anything trivia related.

  • It makes me feel so much better to read other peoples experiences!! When I feel anxious about anything, I come on here and read real life experiences from others going through this stage (the BMB is a godsend!) and it helps me relax. The constant mild cramping/stretching feeling, feeling nervous..I'm glad it's not just me.

How far along are you? EDD?
      4wks, 4days

How are you feeling? Excited, but afraid to get too excited. It still doesn't quite feel real. After doing so much research on fertility and getting pregnant, as soon as I got the BFP Saturday morning I was like, "now what?!" I can't believe I'm on the other side already, and I'm too anxious to just enjoy it yet. This is my first one, so I'm just waiting to get to my 12 weeks so I can relax more. Also: May was my first cycle after donating eggs, and while the doctors said the drugs were no longer in my system after my first period and wouldn't affect my fertility this cycle, I'm TERRIFIED I'm pregnant with multiples...and i mean, multiples. My husband joked that maybe we'll need 6 car seats and I gave him a death stare. I don't feel pregnant with multiples, but then again, how would I know?? Also also: I was SHOCKED when I got the BFP! First month after donating eggs, I figured my body was getting back to normal, and we moved across the country this month and was super stressed during time of ovulation and what would have been implantation, and we had quite a few "welcome home" parties where we drank quite a bit of alcohol...this little bean must be a tough one to still implant and stick through all that!

R/R/Other:  Its still early, so not much symptoms yet. I have a major National Exam (hugely expensive and extremely important to my career) scheduled for June 16 (I'll be 8 weeks) and I'm SO hoping the MS and fatigue hold off until then!!! I can't imagine doing a 4hr exam that's mentally taxing while being extremely nauseous and exhausted. FX! I get a little nauseous when I get hungry every 3hrs or so, so I keep eating smaller meals or snacks throughout the day. The acne...blah. That's here. I get more tired at night than usual and have been sleeping longer, not ready to wake up when I usually do. I get mild off and on cramping and started getting nervous about it until I read through this post and the symptoms post. It's very mild and more just a dull stretching sensation, so I'm thinking it's just my uterus stretching. My temps are still high, no bleeding, no real pain, so I'll just relax a bit.

Questions: Coffee...I used to drink a lot of coffee each day. Knowing I would have to cut back, I've been slowly cutting back the last 6 months. Also, I had to cut back a lot when I donated, so I became used to having one or two cups a day. But my cups are 16oz, and I've been reading that I should only have ~8oz :hushed: How much coffee/tea/caffeine in general is everyone else consuming?? I've been keeping it to 1 cup a day, but I can't imagine cutting back to 8oz!

GTKY - What is your favorite game (board game, card game, video game, party game, etc!)? Could be current or from childhood if you don't play much of anything now! I love games!! Monopoly is a favorite of mine, but I also love Apples to Apples (or Cards Against Humanity depending on who I'm playing with). A recent favorite party video game is Drawful.....seriously, you have to try it! It's a part of Jack Box Party Pack on Playstation or Xbox. Even friends who don't like games like Drawful, and you'll laugh the whole way through. A great couples game is Speak Love Make Love (you're welcome  ) Play is important in all developmental stages from birth to death, so play on!!

I'll be back to post my responses later but..

@lecool Yess I'm so afraid everyday.. But I'm so excuted too. I can't shake the feeling and I just want to embrace the pregnancy.  I have officially missed my period now (15day lp) so I feel a bit better.

@canavara I was shopping with my MIL this weekend for a baby shower and we looked at cribs for fun.  She asked if she could buy an outfit.. So cute and it's now hanging in what will be the nursery. I actually feel better and more excited when I see it everyday!  I am still unsure about buying things.. Though the MIL is already looking at cribs online to go look at!

@kellyhean1988 @lecool @canavara I'm so afraid to have sex! I've wanted to But won't let my self even entertain the idea it will probably take a few more weeks maybe idk! The H I think feels the same way bc he hasn't even brought it up since the bfp!

@kellybean1988 Thank you for the recommendation! I'm always on the lookout for new awesome games. I hear you on the super tired at night. I can make it through the day fine, but I stop and I'm out. Feel asleep for 4 hours yesterday, just cause I sat on the couch.

I've been thinking about new bras as well. I don't feel like I'm bigger, but they're tighter... and my sports bras are already tight. I'm falling out the top now
  • @canavara@cabu14 @Lecool @kellybean1988 Lol a couple days ago I just said "eff this" and woke DH up by riding it. That's the way to go in my opinion because you can control the speed and roughness of it. It was pretty awesome too. You guys should get back in the swing of it and have some fun! ;-)

Also, @kellybean1988 I use babylist too! I'll probably eventually register at a normal store, but the babylist is more of a way to keep all the things (that I like and might buy for myself) in one little place.

How far along are you? EDD?  4w3d and 4/27/17 or 4/28/17 depending on what due date tracker I'm looking at.

How are you feeling? Tired. I'm so tired. Also my dog stepped on my nipple this morning and it hurt. so. bad. No real nausea yet, just the occasional uneasy stomach.

R/R/Other: Well one of the two birth centers I was looking at told me that they do indeed take my insurance, but it'd have to be outside of network, so it'd be closer to 2000$ than the 6000$ out of pocket. That's better than nothing I guess. I'm still waiting to hear back from the second birth center.

Questions: Are any of you having a problem with your pet trying to nose around in your pants? I swear the hormones must have changed my scent or something because I'm constantly shoving my dogs away from my underwear.

GTKY - What is your favorite game (board game, card game, video game, party game, etc!)? Could be current or from childhood if you don't play much of anything now! I play Pathfinder occasionally, but my current obsession is Belly of the Beast by Ben Drutter.

  • You guys—I just posted in Grad check-in on TTGP Grads, but I figured I’d post here too. I just found out that I don’t get my first ultrasound until 18 weeks. 18 WEEKS. Gahhhh. That is forevers away and I am sad.

@Mylitta No problem!! My sports bras were too tight before getting KU and now they’re KILLING ME. I’ve got to go shopping.

@gonetothesea  Ooooh man let us know if you end up getting the stroller and bassinet attachment! Jealous!

@cabu14  Haha I agree with PaukMeKiande—go for it! I was afraid to have sex too and really freaked out after I was spotting afterward, but I did get confirmation from my OB today (I called her because I’m a psycho) and they were like “don’t worry,  that's totally normal in the first tri, especially after intercourse!” Phew.  So go for it if you feel like it!

@sldp123 Ooooh yay your ultrasound will be here before you know it!

@PaukMeKiande lol I love you. I also “rode it” yesterday and it was good, I’m glad we did it!  I also really like babylist…it’s a good way to organize, like you said. And that’s good about the birthing center! I have health insurance and will most likely be paying $2000 or so out-of-pocket for hospital bills regardless. Ew.

  • @kellybean1988 Aw love you too! All the love tits to go around! Also I'm in the same boat for ultrasounds unless I want to go somewhere extra and pay for it separately (which I plan on doing at least once or twice, maybe one every trimester?). My first US would be at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan, but they said they'd look for a heartbeat before then though. Also about the birth center I'm just really glad that the 2000$ is inclusive of all fees from the beginning of prenatal care to postnatal classes on breastfeeding and everything in between.

How far along are you? EDD?  6 weeks 2 days, 1/14/17

How are you feeling? Annoyed that I don't have enough symptoms. My mom keeps reassuring me that she basically had 0 symptoms through her first trimester in all 4 of her pregnancies except late first trimester tiredness and early breast pain. I currently have breast pain but in the last week it's actually been drastically less. I feel tired during the day sometimes but like @kellybean1988 said it doesn't seem anywhere near as dramatic as what everyone else experiences, and I still typically go to bed at a normal time. Otherwise I have the occasional cramp, gas, bloating, etc. But it's minimal.

R/R/Other: I have my first ultrasound on Thursday and I'm so excited but also slightly terrified! I have to go for betas tomorrow. My last one indicated low progesterone so I'm hoping that's not still happening but if it is at least my doctor will know and hopefully do something about it. Also I can't wait for this three day weekend!

    Questions: None right now!

GTKY - What is your favorite game (board game, card game, video game, party game, etc!)? Could be current or from childhood if you don't play much of anything now!
So this is a difficult question. DH and I are big gamers. My favorite retro game is probably Mario Kart 64. Or Donkey Kong 64. Ah. Or like 3 other N64 games. My favorite card game is Dominion. I play a lot of handheld games. Mostly the Harvest Moon series (which is Story of Seasons now), and Pokemon actually because I'm still a child. I also LOVE the sims. If you can't tell I'm big into simulations and RPGs. I could keep going forever but I think that's enough to bore you all! I know @kellybean1988 and I have had this conversation a few times already!

@kellybean1988 While I'm not quite at 18 weeks (wow, that seems too far), my first u/s will be at 11w2d. Though I won't really have an excuse not to tell people afterwards...

I don't know why some wait SOOOO long to do the first u/s. Maybe it's just me, but I've never done this before. I have no idea what to do. All I have are books and this. Which is good... but I'd like a doctor's information. Like how much can I work out? Is the fact that I'm super sore just because I'd likely be sore, and the pregnancy enhances it? Or am I missing too much protein and I'm eating myself? I don't know... either seems logical. Ugh

How far along are you? EDD?  4+5 and 1/25/17

How are you feeling? Pretty good.  So tired - I don't ever want to do anything when I get home.  Even my new journal and bumping seem like so much effort.  I am happy to say I have sore boobs as funny as that sounds, and I had some intense nausea this morning.  Seems like permanent heartburn - but it's not too bad, just sorta there.

R/R/Other:  I wish I could just take the next forever off of work.. but that is not possible.  I would love to be a SAHM but that is def not in the cards for me.

Questions:  I'm too tired to think of any right now, but I'll probably be posting back here during the week with some!!

GTKY - What is your favorite game (board game, card game, video game, party game, etc!)? Could be current or from childhood if you don't play much of anything now!

I'm a card game person.  I love playing SkipBo with the husband.  I also love getting together with friends to play Euchre.  Cards against humanity cracks me up.

  • @kellybean1988 @PaukMeKiande my first US is at 20 weeks :disappointed: it seems SO FAR AWAY! That's not until September!! I'm going to mention my risk for multiple pregnancy and hopefully that'll make them check sooner. I donated eggs last cycle and was taking fertility drugs, so I'm actually quite scared there's more than one in there!

That is crazy far out! Did they tell you why they didn't want to do one sooner? I thought most doctors at least recommended a 12-week NT scan by then.

You guys, I am so nervous. I'm telling my boss today about my pregnancy. I didn't want to do it so soon but they're doing some really serious organizational changes in our company and I'm now the only engineer on this one team so the second I need to do maternity leave, they'll be so screwed... not to mention they're suddenly throwing an amount of stress on me that normally would be semi-bearable but is just unworkable while pregnant. I had a serious meltdown last night because I felt so stressed out by work. So today is the day. At 8 weeks :| I think they'll be really happy for me but it's still scary news to share since we haven't really told anyone except immediate family + doctors.
  • @canavara I'm sorry work has you so stressed out. Hopefully they will be accommodating and supportive. Do you have to tell everybody or can you just tell a lead/supervisor?
  • @loveinak Yeah I'm just going to tell my manager and probably HR for now. My only concern is that a lot of people I work with have the tendency to circumvent my boss and go straight to me with things (since I'm an engineering lead) so I'm probably going to have to tell people that pull shenanigans like that soon enough anyway since it's probably the only way I'm going to get even the slightest bit of empathy from them since non-technical people tend to think of engineers as a bunch of robots haha. My company is so family-oriented and good for working parents but I'm pretty sure I'm the first person in our engineering team (of 30) that has actually *been* pregnant while working for this company (as opposed to being a guy with a pregnant wife or a woman who had kids years ago). It's going to be interestinggggg.
  • @canavara Good luck! Sorry your hand was kind of forced to tell, but at least it sounds like everyone will be supportive!

  • @canavara sorry to hear work is so stressful! Hopefully once they know things will calm down a bit for you.

question: I just took another pregnancy test because I'm waiting for the line to get darker, but the pregnant line I saw at 10dpo is still the same today at 14dpo, and it's not darkening. Is that ok? Does that mean hcg levels aren't rising like they should? Today though the 2nd line popped up immediately instead of appearing after a minute.

Thanks @Mylitta --I am with you...I've never done this before and seeing a doctor early on would be more reassuring. But whatever; I guess they do this all the time and they know what they're doing. Books it is!
@sweetyjenj   I would definitely mention the risk of multiples and maybe that will get you an U/S earlier.

BTW, though--I do have a friend IRL here who is 13 weeks pregnant; I told her that I got my BFP the other day because I want to have an IRL friend to celebrate the next several months with! At any rate, her OB/GYN is in the same general office as mine, and I texted her and was like "GIRL. I HAVE TO WAIT 18 WEEKS FOR MY FIRST U/S". She told me that they surprised her with one at her 12 week appt and she thinks that will happen to me too, but to not tell the doctor that she "ruined the surprise." So, I'm not counting on that in case it's specific to HER doctor, but it did make me feel a little better...we shall see.

@cabu14 I also long to be a SAHM. When I'm not feeling well, I'm a major drama queen at work and life in general. My DH and  kind of take reverse "stereotypical" male/female roles during illness; he will power through a cold and I will be lying in bed all day yelling "woe is me, woe is me, my death has arrived, yada yada" etc. I also have been experiencing the crazy fatigue, but only after work. Hoping you feel better soon!

@canavara  Good luck telling your boss!! I know that is scary and nerve-inducing, but it will be just fine. That is good though that it sounds like they are family-oriented, that always helps.I do completely understand the nerves, I really do. Let us know how it goes!! Rooting for you!

@canavara how did it go with your boss?

@sweetyjenj are you using Wondfos? The lines never got darker for me, one day I thought the line even looked lighter, but my CB digis went from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks and my betas quadrupled in three days, so you definitely cannot tell anything by the darkness of the line. I agree with everyone who said quit peeing on things, haha. Luckily I ran out of Wondfos and I'm not ordering more. I will probably continue to pee on my remaining digis every once in a while though.  ;)
