GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? When I was 14, my aunt got me a job at the electrical supply place she worked, in their lighting showroom, just Saturdays. After a year or so I got a job as a cashier at Shoppers Drug Mart (one of our big drugstore chains in Canada, like Walgreens or CVS) and stayed there 5 years, through the rest of high school and half of college. Met my first long-term boyfriend there too.
ETA: My entire GTKY response since TB ate it the first time.
Testing: I tested today, it did not work, it did not show I was even not pregnant let alone pregnant. Stupid test. Bah..... I guess they are to old, they are from a year ago when I first started trying or I did not hold it under my pee long enough. I think I am going to buy some more this evening so I can try again with new test tomorrow.
R/R/CS: I hate tests.....see rant above.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I was a life guard at our local pool at 15. I walked everyday to our pool and used the money to buy my first car
R/R/CS: I'm at 16 days past ovulation. Yesterday, I swore I had period cramps, but it didn't happen. Last night, I swore I had period cramps, and it still didn't happen. As far as familiar PMS feelings go, I have tender breasts and what seem like the start of cramps. I still haven't gotten my period, and I still get negative pregnancy tests. I'm so frustrated, because I don't know what my body is doing. As I've said, this is my first month off birth control and it's my first time charting. Testing: Tested day before last, BFN. Not testing again.
R/R/CS: I feel a lot better this morning about TTC. When AF comes, I'm going to have my game face on. It should be any time today, as this is my longest LP so far. I'm liking that, though. Maybe I'll get KU easier next cycle because my LPs are getting better!
In other news, I keep running to the bathroom thinking AF is here and then nope, just CM.
GTKY: I was a cashier in a grocery store in high school, which is where I met DH. We started dating our senior year, around which point he switched departments and I moved to customer service/cash office. I worked there for almost 4 years, I think!
@MelissaM090 - Thanks for getting on this bright and early! We will have better days today. ❤️
@skiingstark - I always thought I would be a lifeguard! It never happened for some reason. I bet that was a lot of fun.
Testing: no set plans, but considering at the weekend. I'll be at the beach with my in-laws and alcohol is a pretty big part of the weekend so might do so for peace of mind.
R/R/CS: It is a gorgeous day here (and is supposed to say that way for a few days) so I'm just lapping it up and hoping the area can dry out.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I was a camp counselor with the township recreation department. It was probably the worst job I ever, ever had and I couldn't wait for it to be over. Never did that again.
R/R/CS: My mood is slightly better than yesterday, so that is good. 10DPO is the WORST day of the whole cycle for me. I really should stay home, I am sure my office would agree.....
So now is that fun period between now and AF when I know I am out, but I am just waiting! It is supposed to be here Sunday, let's go!!! Just want CD 1 to be here. GTKY: At 15 I started working at a grocery store, I worked in the Deli section. Good times!
@Jamiemitchell85 I worked in a deli too! @MelissaM090 I don't blame you for not testing, resist the urge! I think I am in the denial stage too, either that or the ever blistful "whatever " stage. @skiingstark WTH, stupid tests, they only have one job! FX you have better luck tomorrow. @MollyandD Sorry you are feeling frustrated this morning. My temp generally starts dropping right before AF, hopefully you get some answers soon. @hanna133 I only hold out until AF to test, because I just don't like seeing a BFN. As much as I try to let it go, it ends up ruining my whole day. That's just me though. @khbear So glad to hear you are in a good mood today! I'm trying to stay positive and I like your way of thinking.
R/R/CS: Temps, CM, and other symptoms (cramping) are following the typical patterns so definitely feeling out. In other news, today is my last day of school!
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I worked at a Quizno's in high school. I had to wear a visor, but I got lots of free sandwiches.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I am with @skiingstark I was a lifeguard! Both indoor at the local skating club as well as the next town over for their outdoor pool. I loved it and did that two summers. I also had a job at a burrito place, and I remember when Chipotle moved in up the street and we were all bitter. lol I went on my break one day and didn't come back because the manager was all pissy at me for giving people Extra extra guac when they only paid for ONE EXTRA scoop - and they were tiny scoops - meanwhile Chipotle wasn't even charging for guac and would just heap it on with a freaking shovel! lol Later dude. Such a rebel. I still don't do too well with authority. ;)

R/R/CS: Now begins the long, long TWW. I feel good about this cycle; I feel like I did everything I possibly could have (I've been taking my pre-natal vitamins religiously, we used Preseed nearly every time we HIO, and our timing was better than last round). It's all out of my hands now, which is somewhat of a relief.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? My very first job was at a Panera, in high school. I believe I was 15 or 16. It was awful. I hated it.
R/R/CS: no symptoms to spot, just my grumbling stomach; I have prolactin & progesterone testing today, and I have to be awake for at least 4 hours before, and FASTED ugg... sometimes the thought of coffee and a good breakfast is the only thing that gets me out of bed. I'm such a grumpy pants when I'm hungry.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I'm surprised how many people hated their first job! I worked at a muffin/ coffee shop at 15. I loved it!

Testing: @skiingstark My test this morning was also defective. Whatever. BFNs all the days before.
R/R/CS: So, defective test this morning really threw me. Trying to decide if I should hold my pee as long as I can and try again today, or just wait until tomorrow. I will probably just wait. At this point I should just wait for AF to get here, on Thursday or Friday. Those wondfos are dangerous. So many and so cheap. More packing today! We didn't do as much yesterday as we should have. It was in the 70's so we had to get outside and we went to the beach for a few hours. I am in packing denial.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? My dad is a vet and in Jr. High, and the beginning of high school my job was walking and feeding and cleaning the cages of the dogs that were boarding at his animal hospital. It was a pretty fun job, for a lot of reasons and it really sucked for a couple of other reasons, namely the poop. I don't really think you can call that "real" though, since he just gave me some cash every week, and it wasn't even the same amount every week. My first real job, was when I was 17. I worked at McDonalds. It was a tough job. I learned so much. I'm really glad I had that job to teach me so many things about myself and life in general.

Testing: Opened what H calls my "uterus drawer" in the bathroom early in the a.m. at 9dpo, and a cheapie strip was staring me in the face, so I caved and took it. BFN, no surprise according to the O calculator I'm using. We're traveling this week for work, and I didn't bring any HPTs on purpose. I'll either get AF tomorrow or I won't. (I DID bring AF stuff.)
R/R/CS: Saw an endocrinologist on Friday to test for an autoimmune cause for my chronic hives. Everything came back normal. This doc is awesome, very easy to talk to. I told her we were ttc, but made it clear that it hasn't been very long, so we didn't discuss RE just yet. Had big boobs over the weekend, then they shrunk, but now they're big again. That doesn't usually happen! Also mild cramping yesterday. Could just be AF symptoms. Trying not to be too BSC.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I was an "ambassador" at our county fair grandstand, which pretty much meant I was a glorified usher. It was fairly unglamorous, but I did win an award for passing a "secret shopper" type test, and I got to see some of the hottest acts of the mid-90s (Alanis, Jewel, Brandy) for free.

Month/Cycle: 7
CD/DPO: 21/9
Timing: -2, -1, O
Testing: Friday for the holiday weekend (so 12 DPO)
R/R/CS: Nothing major today, meeting some girlfriends for dinner for the first time in ages, so looking forward to that!
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? At 15 I was a hostess at a restaurant.
Testing: No plans. Negative tests pierce my soul, so I prefer to just wait out AF.
R/R/CS: Newbie here--my first post in a WTO/TWW thread, though I've been creepin' on you all for months. Feeling pretty laid-back (for me) this TWW. Hitting the six-month mark the last go-round was a bit of a mindf*ck, even though I know it's a short amount of time in the grand scheme of things. Feeling calmer now. Less wildly hopeful, but more at peace with that, if that makes sense.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? Checker at a grocery store, the minute I turned 16. It was awful sometimes, as customer service gigs can be, but I mostly loved it. I made good spending money, made great friends, and had fun dating the cute stock boys.

@Zoey1019@20T I also started using CBAD this month, after using CBD for two months, and I think I'd been miscalculating my O by about a day. The flashy vs. static smiley face definitely makes things a little bit less vague. FX for all of us!

@mollyandd I know your current O date matches up well with CM, but based simply off temps, it looks like O could have possibly been CD16? Just a thought from someone who is an admittedly bad chart stalker.
@khbear I'm glad you are feeling better today. I'm going to try and adopt your attitude towards AF :-P
@zoey1019 Thanks for your encouraging words. :-) Glad you are feeling a little better today! I always think the worst day of the cycle is the day you just KNOW you are out (even worse than CD1).
@reesaanne16 Sorry about the BFN. I also get really grumpy when hungry--and I don't understand the people who simple don't eat breakfast! I would die.
@mrsstuessy Ugh, I really need to start packing for our upcoming move, too. The thought is overwhelming! I'm done with work for the summer after today, so hopefully I can find some motivation.
@thejerilu I waitressed all through college and I HATED it!!! It was good money, but I'm so glad I never have to do that again.
@moonovergoldsboro Welcome! You'll be glad you finally took the plunge to particpate. ;-)
@felix08 When do you guys move? Moving far? We move on Saturday and about 80% of our stuff is still not packed. And we still have to deal with forwarding mail and getting our internet shut off and transferring utilities. And apparently no one can help us do the physical moving, which is carrying our stuff down a long hall, down the elevator 3 floors and through the lobby of our building to the truck outside. BIL and FIL are probably going to be the only other people there.

@felix08 I was very humbled after college to have to pick up waitressing a bit before I raised enough money to move to Chicago. Ughhgghhh hopefully never again. I have so much respect for good waiters now.
@mrsstuessy We're moving about 40 minutes away and we don't close on the house until the end of June, so we do have plenty of time. Just the thought of everything we have to go through and pack is overwhelming me at the moment, but I think when I actually get started it won't be so bad (hopefully). We're also trying to decide if we want to do some major renovations before we move in so that's another factor adding some stress. Are you guys moving far?
@TheJerilu In a way, I think that all people who want to eat at restaurants should have to work at one. It is a seriously hard job AND your wages are totally dependent on the generosity of your customers. People who don't tip well or use the "they're not entitled to a tip" argument really get me riled up.
R/R/CS: My timezones are all jumbled, and my body is not cooperating with me. When I got off my flight to Hong Kong yesterday, I had some minor spotting. It's continued today, but I don't normally have any sort of spotting with my period, especially before. I'm not really due until about Saturday, so not sure if I'm going to see AF early or if it's something else. That said, this is my first cycle off of nuvaring (which I've been on for several years), so I guess things could be a little different than before. My temps were still elevated until Saturday, which I had a dip of like 1.5 degrees. They're back up again. Trying not to read into anything.
GTKY: Sales associate at JCPenney. Oy. Folding all of the things all night long after school!
R/R/CS: Just trying to keep the crazy within at bay. Just returned home from vacation so adjusting back to reality, and not looking forward to all the laundry I have to start tonight
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I worked at a bakery for about 5 years and then was a bank teller. The bakery got me through high school and 1st year of college. I sure do miss all the donuts and cakes sometimes. There's nothing like having a fresh cake donuts. MMMmmm now I'm drooling

@felix08 I'm absolutely in that boat. Should we succeed in having kids, I want to encourage them to have 4 types of jobs (for at least a week) in their young adult life:
Retail/Service industry
Hands on/manufacturing/custodial
Agriculture
Office work
My folks did it with me and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the people who can do the things that I absolutely can't stand myself. Similar with partner, who has worked basically every job available short of selling himself before settling in his current line of work (nonprofit fundraising).
@felix08 I feel like the ovulation line in FF does match with my temperatures. This month is weird, but I removed my birth control on April 25. I didn't start recording my temps until my period started, which was the 28th. I'm not counting those first few, because of the hormone changes. Even with that, I have 8 below the cover line, and only 6 are necessary to pin point ovulation. I had a temp rise, fertile CM, ovulation pain, and cervical position that all indicate ovulation on day 11 (which is kind of day 14, if you count when BC was removed). I keep trying to see what you see on day 16, but I'm just not seeing it. Did you mean day 19? That's when I had my second rise, but no other fertile signs.
GTKY: What was your first 'real' job as a teenager, or a young adult? I delivered weekly newspapers in my neighborhood and worked at McDonald's for a few months.

R/R/CS: My Rant for the morning, is that H keeps hogging the bathrooms! We don't normally get up at the same time, but here we are. I can't get to any of my stuff and he keeps taking forever. My Rave, he made me coffee, so all is forgiven.
GTKY: At 15 I started working at a grocery store, I worked in the Deli section. Good times!
@Jamiemitchell85 I worked in a deli too!

I hated it.

CD/DPO: 18/3
Timing: -4, -2, -1, O

An assistant at a vet clinic. I was 16 and lucked out!

@TheJerilu In a way, I think that all people who want to eat at restaurants should have to work at one. It is a seriously hard job AND your wages are totally dependent on the generosity of your customers. People who don't tip well or use the "they're not entitled to a tip" argument really get me riled up.
CD/DPO: 27/10

I'm absolutely in that boat. Should we succeed in having kids, I want to encourage them to have 4 types of jobs (for at least a week) in their young adult life:
- Retail/Service industry
- Hands on/manufacturing/custodial
- Agriculture
- Office work
My folks did it with me and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the people who can do the things that I absolutely can't stand myself.
