Had a BPP/growth scan today and discovered that baby is transverse. He was head down at a sono at 36 weeks, and head down when OB checked my cervix last week, but now his head is in my ribs on the right, his butt is on my left, and his arms and legs are punching and kicking me straight in the vag.
I'm hoping for a VBAC, and my OB suggested a version before I even asked about it. He doesn't do them so I'm waiting for an appointment with a perinatologist, but good old Dr Google has me spooked. Anyone had an ECV before? Was it painful? Successful? Worth it? Could use some non-Google personal advice!

Re: Successful versions?
i started a thread for ECVs a few weeks ago that has a few more stories that you can search for ( can't link on mobile)

I'm sure it's scary but talk to the specialist about how the process works. I've heard lots of different approaches but personally would feel safest having a similar scenario as my sister - version took place in an OR, prepped for an emergency c section if baby didn't tolerate it well, and she was induced right after to avoid baby flipping again.
@lionstigersbears my OB won't induce chemically bc I've had a previous cs, but he said he would consider breaking my water to get things started. Hopeful that spinning babies + ecv gets baby in position for my vbac!
I'll go check the other thread, thanks again ladies!
