Awake intervals

hi! Wondering how everyone's LO is doing with wake times. We are about 2 hours to 3 hours awake. I aim for 2 hours awake but sometimes she seems wide awake when I go to put her for a nap so thinking perhaps she is ready to be up for longer intervals. Also ready to live life in longer than 2 hour Windows!

Re: Awake intervals

  • We are still 1.5-2hrs and 2.5 at bedtime.

  • Still 1.5 - 2 here. By my experience and some books I have read if you wait too long to baby down for a nap your baby will release adrenaline into his/her body to stay awake, making the baby appear to be "wound up." Don't know if this is a possibility for you but it definitely happens here. Gotta get a nap in that sweet window before he gets worked up. Definitely easier said than done sometimes.
  • DD ranges anywhere from 2-3 hr stretches to usually a 4-5 hr stretch in the evening.
  • We're similar to @Mizuiro007, about 2 hr intervals during the majority of the day, except the final stretch in the evening is about 3-3.5 hrs.
  • 2-2 and a half throughout the day. (I start at 2 hours) And 3-3 and1/2 last one of the evening.
  • 1.5-2hrs. I avoid going longer than 2 because holy overtired Batman.

  • At 20 weeks she goes 1.5 in the morning, and 2 the rest of the day, and sometimes 3-3.5 before bed.
  • LO is 22 weeks.  He has been going 2-2.5 and usually 3-3.5 before bed. The one before bed isn't really on purpose, he has been boycotting his last nap around 3:30-4:00.  He may sleep for 15-20 minutes but then is usually up from there until about 7-7:30.

I'm glad to see that everyone is on the same page as me. My sister said she is suppose to be sleeping throughout the whole night by now. that made me feel like I am doing something wrong.  Also, I hate her not in bed with me but I've been putting her in her crib time to time. My mom thinks I'm hurting her from not being independent because I like co sleeping :(

On weekends, it's 2-3 hours. During the week, she gives the babysitter hell and opts out of all but one or two naps, then latches to the boob for,  like,  3 hours and claws my face. But she's sleeping better than ever at night,  so I give up trying to figure it out. I guess what I'm saying is yes, do what works for you and try not to stress.
  • @kiam032, you know your baby better than your mom or sister. You do what's best for your LO! Babies don't know how old they are and so can't be held accountable for sttn just because they're five months (or whenever that's "supposed" to happen). If y'all need to co-sleep have at it. Your family means your rules. Anyone else's input is a guideline at best-- including mine
So much this! We are in no way sleeping through the night, but I am taking it one night at a time, doing whatever works for us and celebrating small successes along the way! (And secretly scoffing at those who have babies who sttn... but shhh...)
  • Any updates? We are now about 3 hours awake time and sticking more to nap times rather than awake intervals. Sometimes she goes closer to 4 hours at night. Others?
  • Cole's first nap is exactly 2 hours after awake. 2nd nap is about 3 hours after that, then usually a quick early evening nap.
  • If you get a quick evening nap, how long are your babes awake before bed?
  • Also we are now 2.5 in the morning, then 2.5-3, then 3-6 depending if I can get her to cat nap
  • We are exactly 2 hours after morning wake then depending on the length of the nap 2.5-3hrs. Then lately an extra nap in the afternoon usually 2.5-3hrs after second nap(if she has a long second nap it's 3-4hrs to bedtime. I'm honestly still watching her cues more than anything so sometimes it's 2.5,3,3.5,4.
