I'm finishing up writing a draft of my thesis, so am ordering some pretty heavy books, but also starting a wishlist of baby things. So my recommendations are all over the map. My thesis is looking at depictions of motherhood and maternity in literature, and how motherhood was handled in the 2nd and 3rd wave, so also things that are divergent in some ways, but really complementary in others...

Your thesis sounds extremely interesting. I would love to read it when you've completed it!
@cjs260 Right now it feels like more of an "if" than a "when" - some of the theory stuff is tricky to wrap your head around when your brain is firing on all cylinders. And, well, I'm most definitely not. Hormones, man.
@poetryandoceans I feel ya. I've been saying I'm functioning at about 60%. Luckily the summer is a slow time for writing and a good time for bench work, but it's still important to keep your head in the game for that.

Lol careful ladies, or I'll start posting journal articles for everyone! On my reading list for this afternoon "Second wave silences and third wave intensive mothering" -- suggests some of the helicopter parenting trends we have been seeing in contemporary parenting can trace some of its roots to the silence much of the second wave had on the issue of mother identity. 'Sisterhood not motherhood' was a big thing back then!

My FFFC is that my babywearing stash has completly exploded! 2 on the way 1 on the loom, 2 left today and 4 are fsot, my husband might kill me. I am definitely over my limit of 10

My husband told me I have enough already. I'm going to sell some but I'm just getting started for the new baby muhahaha
My FFFC is that I'm already wearing maternity jeans. I got crotch holes in my favorite jeans last week and my "skinny" jeans are uncomfortable, so I just pulled out the maternity jeans. I actually love having an excuse to wear them because I find them really comfy!

I stopped buying cloth diapers and started buying baby carriers...then I stopped buying baby carriers and started buying LuLaRoe. I bet my husband wishes I would go back to buying cloth diapers.
