3rd Trimester

3rd trimester morning sickness

I have had morning sickness the entire time. At 13 weeks i started taking diclegis and it has been a miracle drug! As long as i take it i am golden for the entire day.... until recently. Third trimester started last week and all of a sudden the nausea kicked in even with the medicine. Has anyone else experienced this? I've never heard of morning sickness getting so terrible in the 3rd trimester.

Re: 3rd trimester morning sickness

  • We were just talking about this on the July bmb and several of us had it kick back in. Not sure why. I've found I get it more when my acid reflux is bad. Hope you can get some relief

  • I've been getting nauseous a lot lately. I've made sure to eat some protein every couple of hours to help keep it at bay, but there is a lot lately that has been turning my stomach. I asked my doctor about it at my last appointment and she said a lot of her patients report morning sickness coming back in the third tri and they aren't really sure why.

I also switched my pre-natal vitamin to bed time and that has helped!

  • I'm with you, diclegis saved me from 7 weeks until about 29 weeks.  I'm 31 now and I'm back to getting sick multiple times a day and reduced appetite.  For me the nausea is triggered by post nasal drip which is worse due to my allergies.  I think being pregnant just intensifies the nausea and sickness.

  • I take diclectin (cdn version of diclegis) and Zofran and zantec and am still sick at 26.5 weeks. I was sick up until I pushed my daughter out at 35 weeks. Sucks.
