Overnight Diapers

Do you have a favorite overnight diaper that doesn't leak?

During the day we use Pampers Swaddlers and don't seem to have any issues, except the occasional poop blow out.  When we were using them overnight though, a lot of mornings LO's diaper had leaked and his sleepsack and pjs were all wet.

We bought one of the Pampers overnight, I think there were two options (Pampers Baby Dry or Pampers Extra Protection).  And of course I can't remember which we got because I threw out the box!  They seem to work alright, some nights he's fine, others he's still wet by morning.  It looks like the diaper almost gets so heavy and droops way down at the leg openings and allows leaking.

I don't know if this is an option that you would consider but we use cloth all the time and use the GroVia ONE diaper for night time use. We bought three of them and I wash every other day. Our little guy is in it from 7:00pm to 7-8am every night and he's never leaked or had a blow out. They fit from newborn to potty training!

  • We also use Pampers swaddlers size 4 (big boy :)) .. but recently like you we have been having pee through issues overnight. I went and bought Pampers Swaddlers one size up (5) and so far we have been lucky and they are great!  My sister (mom of two) mentioned to me after I bought the one size up that if the baby is moving around the crib she always had luck with pampers cruisers for overnight..it will move better with them and provide coverage.
  • We cloth diaper but at night I use honest co size 3 so his snuza alarm can clip to it. Not one issue so far, I love them!

We just started using the huggies nighttime diapers and they are working for us. I've also heard some moms size up and that works too.

I have tried Pampers Baby Dry, Pampers extra protection and Huggies over nights.
My hands down favorite are the huggies. I have had zero leaks since using them.
I hated the pamper extra protection -- they leaked more than the baby dries!!
  • We use seventh generation day and night and never have leaks.  Plus they are chemical free.  :)

We are in pamper swaddlers size 5 and at night time, Pamper baby dry size 5! No more night leaks!!!!
  • We use seventh generation all the time but have some leaking over night (she does nurse 1-2 times still at night so that may be why.
I just bought some size 4s to use just for bedtime (she's in 3 otherwise). Last night was night 1 and no leaking. Hoping it does the trick.

  • Thanks @xJKxOR I just brought 2 grovia ONEs after seeing more great reviews on Amazon for nighttime use. I'm excited, none of ours work great for night right now so I've been using the Honest CO. Disposables, but I'll be glad to stick with cloth at night if these work!
  • We had this issue too- we use up and up brand. He was in a 4 and I thought it was too early to switch him to a 5, but we did and it's been good. That and we also make sure his penis is pointing down.

We use Kirkland brand (Costco) and have never had an issue with leaks (or poop blow-outs!). LO is currently in size 4, but I may buy a size up soon for overnight just to hold even more.
  • Tried the buggies overnights and i am still getting a little leaking. He is barely 18 lbs and the 3s should work but I may have to try 4's.

  • N15 lurker. We use Huggies Overnight diapers.  They work great for DS.  We get them through amazon mom for about  $20 (free shipping) for 90-some diapers.

I just put a cloth diaper cover over his regular diaper (we use Target brand currently). Works perfectly and I don't have to buy special "overnight" diapers. I got some cloth diaper covers cheap on Amazon and they are perfect.
