I want to see as much of the world as I can (or as my budget allows).  H and I went to Paris this past November, and on our honeymoon in 2013 we went to Rome and Athens, along with a few Greek islands. But I'd love to visit Venice and Florence, and more of the Italian coast. Plus Amsterdam! Some close friends of ours are moving to London for two years this fall, so I think that'll be our next trip.

WAYDTGKU: praying to the egg gods

    R/R/CS: Long rant.

What the actual F*** body?! My scan this morning showed no growth on my follicles, but I did have a lot more of them. So they want me to come back Friday to see if there is anymore growth. If not, they want me to do a third round of the Letrozole. I got aggravated because I feel like if it's going to work, wouldn't it have already? I've never heard of someone doing two rounds of Letrozole in one cycle, let alone three! I'm afraid that I'll have no growth at all, and this cycle will get cancelled. I'm worried that too many follicles will mature, and this cycle will get cancelled. I'm also really worried I'm not a good responder to Leztrozole at all, and it really disappoints me because it's supposed to be this "miracle pill" for PCOS. I'm afraid to suggest Clomid for a number of reasons. Mainly because of the awful side effects I've read from contributors on here, and otherwise. And for a while I thought maybe they need to up my Letrozole dose to 7.5mg but now I'm afraid if we did something like that, I'd grow too many follicles.
I know we're on the beginning end of this process compared to a lot of others, but it kills my heart each time I get disappointing results.

GTKY:  Let's talk Europe!  If you had a week in Europe where would you go and why?
I would love to go to Italy, I have a lot of Italian running through my blood! I'd love to go to Greece, though I know that's the Mediterranean! England/Ireland/Scotland. All of it!

I'd love to visit Germany and Iceland again, but if this is an all-expense deal I'd probably do 1 day in the Netherlands, 1 day in the UK, 2 in France, 2 in Italy, and 1 in Greece.  Places that are a bit touristy & overpriced for my usual tastes, but everybody ought to visit them once.  If I just have the week to go and have to fund myself, I'd visit a lot of the formerly Eastern Bloc countries.  I'm of slavic heritage, so those places are intriguing to me in a "know your roots & neighbors" sense.

R/R/CS:  I am new to OPKs and the internet is confusing me so I thought I'd ask you guys.  I got a negative OPK yesterday but a positive today.  Am I correct in understanding that means I may ovulate in the next 24-48 hours?  I got confused because the test said the best time to have sex is more than 24 hours after the positive, but less than 48, so I got confused.  My husband is away tonight and was yesterday as well so I need a reason to have hope that our timing isn't screwed.

Is it likely to get positive OPKs two days in a row?

  • @Mlight28 Woooo for clear tubes!!!

@Hopingforoneagain My understanding of OPK's is that if you get a positive you will O within 12-36 hours after the positive! Everyone is different with how long afterwards you'll O, but it's usually somewhere in that range.
  • @HopingForOneAgain I use 2 different kinds of OPKs. I start with wondfos because they are cheap. Once I get a pretty dark second line (or pretty close to "positive"), I confirm with the Clear Blue Advanced Digital OPK. I'll get 1-2 days of "high" then "peak".  From my experience with charting temp, CM and OPKs, I notice usually ovulate closer to 36-48 hours after my peak reading (CB Adv OPK) or positive (Wondfo). Everyone is different though.
  • Thanks @mrsdaddario and @NurseMarie9  With our timing I hope it is closer to the 3-48 range!

  • @DoctorDonna Sorry that you're back in WTO after FF stole your CHs. Long cycles are the worst when you're TTC. Hopefully you'll O soon.

@mrsdaddario Ugh! How frustrating! Hopefully a few of those eggs mature into nice, usable eggs for you so you can move on with this cycle. I can definitely understand why you'd be worried. I'm pretty sure I'd be losing it if I were you. FX'd for some good news at the next scan.

WAYDTGKU: Acupuncture, charting, temping, checking cm/cervix, saliva microscope, OPKs (starting around CD10), sex when possible, supplements for egg quality: CoQ10, PNVs, Vitamin E. And I'm adding low dose aspirin this cycle because I'm read some research that suggests it may help ladies with Endo. And it can't really hurt so...

R/R/CS: I'm just really uncomfortable with cramps and all the other fun period things. I switched pads from what I was using last month (that I was allergic to strangely) and my choice for this cycle was better but still not totally safe apparently. So now instead of having blisters everywhere the pad touched my skin like last cycle I just have a couple of tiny blisters here and there where the pad is touching me. And for some reason my menstrual cup is making me insanely crampy. So I can either deal with skin irritation and blisters. Or cramps from fucking hell from the menstrual cup. This doesn't normally happen to me. What the actual fuck is going on?

Also, I apologize for my foul language this morning. I'm just 20 kinds of uncomfortable and frustrated and I'm totally out of emotional resources to deal with it. I'm as done with today as this puppy in this gif is:

GTKY:  Let's talk Europe!  If you had a week in Europe where would you go and why? Hm, this is a great question. DH's parents took him and his brother all over the place when they were young. His parent's felt like it was important for children to get out and see the world and such. So DH has been all over Europe and to most of the exciting, cool places in the US (or, ya know, the ones you'd think of off the top of your head as being big tourist spot must-see spots). So whenever I mention taking  a vacation to Europe or something DH is all "I've already been to all those places. They're not so great. I don't have any interest in going back." So I guess we'd probably try to see some places that aren't typical tourist destinations. And I don't know enough about Europe to even know what that would include. I've literally never set foot out of the USA. And I've never been to most of the "cool" places in the USA. I'm not well traveled AT ALL.

Aagh, a few months ago I would have said Paris but we finally got to go again!  (The mini-album if anyone is interested.)
So now I'm leaning toward something relaxing (I am temporarily burned out on sightseeing) like a week in Nice or Cannes. If money is no issue, on a yacht or in one of the really swank hotels.  It's hard for me to stray from France because I love practicing my French, and I have a food allergy so it's easier to deal with if I can speak the language.

    R/R/CS:
So it turns out that OH does have low testosterone (I feel so guilty typing this since I promised I wouldn't tell anyone...but I'm saying this doesn't count since you don't know me IRL).  His doc prescribed him the gel for that, even though OH told him that we're TTC.  Thankfully, I did some research on the specific med when we got the scrip, and that treatment can decimate sperm counts.  OH hasn't started it and is contacting his doc, hopefully for a referral to either a urologist or an endocrinologist who understands this stuff.  There is an alternate treatment that helps him produce his own testosterone...and after looking into it, it's basically Clomid!!  Anyway, OH is frustrated because he wants to feel better and have his stronger sex drive return (I'd love that, too!!).  He's being kind of a baby about it.  I feel terrible even saying that and for being annoyed, since he's normally so reasonable and patient.  I'm trying to count my blessings that he's cooperating even if he grumbles.  And crossing my fingers his doc gets back to him quickly...and doesn't argue that this treatment is still a good idea!

    GTKY:
A few weeks back, OH ordered brochures from a tour company in Italy, and it all made me drool.  I'd love to go all over, but especially to Capri.  It just looks amazing.  We plan on going, probably in a couple of years.

    ***Question in R/R/CS
    Month/ Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: checking CM and sex at least EOD as soon as AF leaves

R/R/CS: I feel like I've asked a variation of this before but I can't remember the responses so here it is again: if you've used any supplements to increase fertile CM, what did you use and how well do you feel it worked? The only "issue" I feel I've been having is that I get almost no EWCM. I know that's not a complete deal-breaker for plenty of people but it's what I'd like to focus on changing for this cycle.

GTKY:  Let's talk Europe!  If you had a week in Europe where would you go and why?
Probably Amsterdam. Or France. I really have no idea.
