  • I have PCOS and with that comes long irregular cycles aka I do not ovulate regularly. My cycles can range from 30 to 125 days. In all honesty if I was not paranoid about ending up like one of the ladies on "I didn't know I was pregnant" I probably wouldn't have figured it out for a while. Since I am paranoid I test monthly 45-days after my LMP...this time SURPRISE!!! As of now I'm 6w6d and aside from mild fatigue and tender breasts I've had no other symptoms. As far as the fatigue and tender breast I feel this 3-5 days a week after my personal training sessions. So absolutely I can see where someone wouldn't realize they are pregnant early on. This is my first pregnancy so I cannot say how long before I get hit with nausea or something that makes me feel undeniably pregnant.
  • Science is an evolving thing. It disagrees with itself constantly and proves itself wrong constantly. 10 years from now, something we view as "scientific fact" will be proven wrong.

There are many things that are scientific fact that I just don't believe. 1. That my baby currently is not a baby. Doesn't matter to meet how much science yells that it's just a clump of cells. 2. That we evolved from apes. I don't believe that, but I personally know many Christians that do, and that's fine.

I think it is totally fine that people believe sex/gender can be separate, I just personally dont, and I feel I should have that right to believe that way.

Science isn't to be blindly followed imo.

You have the right to believe it. And I have the right to call you foolish.

Well, Insulting someone personally because they disagree with you is unnecessary. I don't agree with what she said but I don't see why there's a need to make this a hostile environment. People aren't going to agree with everything you have to say. It's a message board, jeez.

this is exactly the kind of thing my FFFC is about.

I don't have enough energy to change everyone's mind. It's not my responsibility to make sure people learn. I want people to understand that not all beliefs need to be shared. If you hold racist thoughts- no one needs to know. Same with sexist or ageist or homophobic or transphobic etc etc thoughts or beliefs. It's not going to make you any friends and it's damaging to the society as a whole so stfu.

I think gender and sex is a very tricky topic. It is interesting to note that it is an area where many different branches of science agree. In my psychology doctorate it was something I researched a lot and do have some interesting research worth looking at. However I think this debate is getting sidetracked from that into more of a debate about whether people's belief systems are valid.
Personally I have a lot of gender fluid and non cis friends. I also believe that alternative lifestyles and personal choices should be considered and supported as long as they do not cause harm to others.
The reason people are getting passionate over this I think is I believe that people are seeing the lack of accepting people's gender identity is causing a huge amount of harm to them.
The belief of creationism over evolution does not harm anyone but the lack of accepting a person's identity can.
Personally I will chose to give my child freedom to become the person they want to be and restricting activities/clothing etc will not be something I will be comfortable with.
I can understand those people's views that sex and gender are the same thing. It is the information we have had to go on for a long time and research and the different view is relatively new in our future.
I would however like to ask those that believe that sex and gender are synonymous what you would do if your child spoke to you saying they felt like they had a misaligned gender?
Personally I have been most enlightened by those people I have had personal contact with rather than research. Some of my trans friends are the most balanced, articulate and emotionally healthy people I know.

I'm coming super late to this but I dont care. UO or FFFC....

I hate UO and FFFC's! I dont come on this board to debate social or political issues. I've only ever seen these threads divide our community, cause bitter feelings and start wars and segregate into unspoken groups. I've seen this happen in SO many boards I've been on. Also, I have yet to see one person walk away from threads like this enlightened. 99% of the time people just walk away more set in their ways, and more pissed off. With that said, I'm going to try to stay away from these threads for the sake of my sanity. I know it my be an uo, but I encourage you all to do the same. There I said my peace. See you all in the other threads :)
