Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Friday

Re: WTO Friday

  • @mrsdaddario I hope everything goes well for you! I understand trying to get everything put together and then your hard work gets undone. FX for you this month also!!

    @BusinessWife Ahhh the practicing!! Do you play piano or something else? I'm always getting called up to fill in at church. Sometimes with notice, sometimes not lol. Also, thinking of you in this hard time. I was really close with my grandma when she passed.

    @linzrunz aww poor puppy! I'm such a softy with my 2 furbabies. I'd take them everywhere if I could. Have fun with your family and safe travels!

    @CoonMom Vent all you want! I know how it feels to have friend after friend get KU and you're still out. Especially going through a loss, I look at my friends and think why do they get KU so easily and not have any problems but I lose my baby. Sometimes it just helps to scream it's not fair!!! I'll be thinking about you and sending hugs!

    @Dilynne I know they mean well, but don't pay any attention when people say stuff like that. The other day my H said "it'll happen in God's time" when we were having a discussion about him not having sex with me. Not how it works! So just ignore what people say and vent to those who understand.

    @TheJerilu That sounds like a good idea. My H is always talking sex but it didn't happen half as much as he talked it up. This month has been better.

    @clover28 CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!

  • @mokay19 Makes sense to get the hsg after the SA results. (Even though I got it in reverse order). The only weird thing is if your glucose is normal, wit's curious the doctor would put you on Metformin. I'm not insulin resistant, but have PCOS, and I was told by both the OB who dx me, and my RE, that Metformin would not help me because I wasn't resistant. Maybe if you can get a second opinion on that, I would. And definitely get your lining issue looked into. I was just telling DH last night I wish I hadn't of listened to the RE's nurses, and instead listened to HIM, when he said that I didn't need to start a new AF cycle before going on Letrozole. I listened to the nurses who insisted I needed to get AF. I say that because at CD 35 I had a perfectly thick lining. Now starting fresh, my lining is dismal (5.25MM on CD 14, womp womp). I feel like it would have been beneficial for me to have just started it then, while lining was thick. Instead of shedding it off in AF. Live and learn. Can't wait to see how your H's SA goes, that will really set the tone for your plan of attack!

    @Dilynne I'm so sorry you're feeling so down. I completely understand how you are feeling. The first few months I went off HBC, my periods were normal. 32 days, 34 days, and then......a 49 day cycle. Followed by an 80+ day cycle that I needed an OB to kick start. Let me tell you, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but don't trust FF. It's literally only an app on your phone when all is said and done. Especially for those of us who have irregular cycles. I truly believe FF only really works for those who have normal cycles, no fertility issues. Of course I am NOT saying that to scare you, as I have zero idea if you have issues or not! I'm in no way, shape, or form a docta! I know you have an appointment coming up very soon, and hopefully that will give you some answers! In the meantime, be extra kind to yourself today! This whole weekend for that matter!

  • @mrsdaddario and @mokay19 – good luck in the upcoming days

    @BusinessWife – hugs
    @CoonMom I am so sorry.   I would feel the same way too.  Any chance of getting a second opinion with a different doctor re: waiting to do further testing?
    @Dilynne – that comment gives me all the rage for you!  I mean, she may have meant it in a “it’s just not time YET” but man…what a thing to say

    R/R/CS:  I worry that my infertility history is going to turn me into a crazy person again.  I handled it so poorly, and even though I have reason to believe my problems (anovulation) may be behind me, I still can’t help but feel like there is a “no point in trying” cloud hanging over my head.  Obviously it is way too early to be feeling that way, and the last time I went off of the pill I ovulated right away, so why can’t I be optimistic and think it may happen again that way this time?  Anyway, I notice that a lot of you ladies who have been trying for a long time have amazing attitudes about it much of the time, and I really admire that, so I am trying to have it rub off on me!

    GTKY: It's Friday!!!! Any exciting plans for your weekend?!

    It is my husband’s birthday today, and I ordered an ice cream cake for him.  I may be a little too excited about the ice cream cake….

    I couldn't agree with you more about FF just being an app/website.  I in no way go off of what FF tells me.  When I talked to my Ob/Gyn, I said if the app I use is accurate, and she was like absolutely if it was right.  I kind of use FF as a benchmark and then go from there.  I also agree that it's generally helpful to those that have regular cycles.  I hated when I first downloaded the app it asked me how long my cycles were.  I didn't know what to put because some are 45 days, some have been 50, some 65 and some over 90.

    @crazypt2285 I don't think you can figure out O day for sure with just opk. Some days I O two days after pos opk, sometimes day after (these are confirmed with bbt).  There was also a month that I didn't O at all but got a positive opk. It would be a guess. Good luck!!

    Edited because use my phone is jumping around as I'm typing and I'm going to throw it across the room.
  • @becbec28 That is so great!  I sing, actually.  Do you play piano then?  We have a new music director who is great, but he's also a composer so he's throwing a lot of new music at us - not just his own, but is composer friends' lol - plus he is hoping to give me more responsibility than the previous director had given me, and potentially recruiting for a children's choir I'd get to help with so there is a lot to do there in order to keep my level of performance up to the professional standards I have for myself.  PLUS a big festival concert on Friday that family is coming into town for, so no pressure! lol

    @BusinessWife That sounds like so much fun!!! I play piano, French Horn, and sing. Our church choir is very much older, so we don't get to sing new stuff very often. I would love to sing under a composer and help with a children's choir! I'm hoping that once we have a kid my stay-at-home job will be giving music lessons and maybe find a church or school to "hire" me. Have fun in the festival concert!! I love those!

    @mrsdaddario yes I agree about the Metformin! I outright asked her if it makes sense for me to even waste it taking it if my glucose levels don't show that it'll do anything and she was like "just in case" you can keep taking it... But I plan on asking again whenever I do go back because it's a pain in the butt since I have to focus my meals around it haha. I was hoping they would do the HSG before or at least around the same time as the SA since right now my main issue is not ovulating. But I'm glad that my DH is able to get in and get this out of the way.
    Do you know if Letrozle or Clomid are supposed to promote your uterine lining thickening up? Or is that a separate beast to tackle? ..off to Dr Google to research this.... My doctor mentioned that they mostly use Clomid at their office, but is there one that is better or worse for someone with PCOS?

We Should HIO tonight but OH is exhausted and is not in the mood and I don't wanna push it so I'm just Sulking here at work because our timing went from ok to terrible. End rant.

  • @mokay19 I've read that Clomid can mess with CM, dry it up and (in some women, not all) thin out the lining. I personally haven't been on it, but I did ask my RE about it at our consultation. Specifically the thought that one can only be on it for 6 cycles because it can cause cancer. What he said was he's not convinced there is enough scientific studies/evidence that it does. He doesn't recommend being on it more than 6 cycles because in his opinion if it is going to work for a couple, it will work within the first 3-4 cycles. Same with Letrozole. If it's going to work, he's convinced it will work within 3-4 cycles. He said he generally uses Letrozole first because a lot of PCOS patients have success with Letrozole, and it doesn't have the side effects that Clomid does. Of course, that is all his personal preference, so I can't speak on behalf of other RE's. Also, I would assume that he is talking about patient's who only have anovulation issues. As he was referring all of this around DH and I, and our only issue is my lack of O.

    We're on vacation! Sort of... I have a CE conference this weekend at a beach city, so I brought DH along (otherwise we would have missed our entire fertile window) It's slightly warmer here then home, and its fun to have the ocean sounds to sleep to at night. I love CE conferences, they are so inspiring and I feel reenergized afterward.
