@TheTamedShrew It doesn't bother me, but I do find I've been doing a lot more skimming lately. Maybe it's time to revisit the weekly random thread?
I agree with that, but I also think that a lot of things being discussed aren't random. Some of them are legitimate questions or sharing family issues/situations. By the time I can scroll backward enough trying to find out why everyone is tagging a certain person it's too late to really add anything. Even if I do, nobody responds because that topic has already passed over.
I feel like I'm a regular on here, since I am here almost every day but will not post my own separate thread for fear of getting "yelled" at for not putting something in the proper post. I won't read the randoms thread, too much to keep up with and I Bump while at work, so if there were more posts or posts that apply to me I would participate more
I can see the randoms point a lot, I love it for chit chat, but yea maybe on the randoms we can start calling each other out on that should be a thread and not just a kept on here...
Parenting a toddler is absolutely by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Like makes me want to drink everyday and run away hard. I find the blogs/articles validating that I'm not alone and/or a bad parent.
Same.

There is such little yelling on this board it's pretty close to rainbows and sunshine. I post in the randoms for the most part because what I'm posting really is not worthy of it's own thread.. trust me. But definitely not for fear of being reprimanded. I think the posts that have been directed to other threads were very very clearly fitting into other threads (due date, name of child, etc)
I agree with @AnnaS930 on the "Sunshine and Rainbows" feels coming from this board. I love that most of our topics are answered in a polite, gentle manner. I will agree though that people who are just coming on board should be paying attention to the first couple posts to get their bearings on here to avoid such "yelling." My previous BMBs were full of snarky, bitchy behavior and it was horrible, definitely don't see that here.
@RG1 I LOVE this!! Kitchener/Waterloo is only 30 minutes away from me, so I feel like change is happening in my backyard and couldn't be happier!!

@TheTamedShrew I know what you mean about the randoms thread. I generally don't check in until things are settled at work around 10:00ish PST, and it's not uncommon for me to have 50-60 posts to catch up on, with multiple conversation threads that are more or less .. resolved? by the time I read them. I still lurk my way through and get caught up but I haven't felt like I can participate much.

@camichael84 AMEN! I am SO FREAKING SICK of people telling me their horror stories. I get it, giving birth is painful. And yes, I'm aware that sometimes there are rips and tears and cuts and problems, hemmorrhoids, varicose veins, etc etc etc. But why they feel the need to tell me, as a FTM, is beyond me.

@TheTamedShrew I feel the same- sometimes I log on and see something like 98 new pages and I just think UGH ok... so I try to scroll through, read each one- but as I type responses I see there's no point, I'm like 8 pages behind and people have moved on. And I feel bad if I don't try to read most of it, because I miss important stuff that gets posted there. It's a lot to keep up with! And sometimes I'm just too damned tired.
Sooo...I might be guilty of posting "randoms" that may actually warrant their own thread. Honestly, I barely thought about it until I asked a question about HMOs and someone mentioned being just about to start a thread re the same topic. I'll do better because I can see how posting in randoms is unintentionally discluding people. And I'm all for being gently reminded (and doing the same for others) to make a new thread if/when something warrants it!
