@roxell I used to hate leggings too! Now it's all I feel comfortable in. I'm not buying maternity work pants since in a month I won't be working anymore so leggings it is!
I don't get the Lula Roe leggings. I'm not a pattern girl but I can't see the appeal in wearing leggings with lipsticks or little gnomes. It's just as well as I am of a body shape that probably should not wear leggings.
Since this cold weather just won't give up, I am fully on board with leggings. I refuse to buy maternity jeans until the fall when I'll actually know what size I'll need...and surely it'll be warm enough for dresses and shorts soon! But until then - leggings 110%!
I'm always irritated when people get their panties in a wad over sex vs gender in reference to an unborn child. Yes - we know there's a difference, I promise. Do we really need to beat the horse 10,000x?
@campbaby76 I'm with you on patterns (on pants) and not having the body type for leggings. I've got calves like a professional bodybuilder. Anything tight on them looks wrong. And forget skinny jeans, can't get them past my ankles.

I just discovered Lula Roe (definitely a Newb) but isn't the point that their leggings are ridiculously comfortable?

I wanted to say this too, I just didn't know how!
So much of dreaming for your unborn baby involves just that: dreams, hopes, thoughts and assumptions based on your experience of life. I think we all just want our children to have the easiest, most joy-filled life they possibly can, and ANY hardship they may have to face (be it medical, physical or the emotional weight of not feeling comfortable in their own skin, etc) is a burden we pray they never have to carry!
I'm always irritated when people get their panties in a wad over sex vs gender in reference to an unborn child. Yes - we know there's a difference, I promise. Do we really need to beat the horse 10,000x?
A lot of people don't, though. Is it that awful to be corrected on a small thing? Count me in as having my panties in a wad, I guess. I don't really care when people say "gender reveal" because it's kind of accurate and sex reveal sounds weird. But when talking about boy parts vs girl parts, yeah, it's sex. It's medically accurate. I don't really see it as any different from saying something when people mix up, say, progesterone with estrogen.
Hm... UO...
I am a Bernie supporter but even I am getting real sick of some of the Bernie bros out there. I don't like Hilary but some of the things people in my feed say about her are straight up ridiculous and it just makes Bernie supporters look bad.

I get how people could be a bit bored with the long repetitive discussions of sex vs. gender, but as @FiancB said not everyone knows the difference, and even many of those who apparently do know the difference regularly get it wrong. It's annoying! Use words correctly!
My UO is not one at all. It is just that I am in an amazing mood because it is my husbands birthday and we announced we are having a girl and I am flying high! Even prison babies can't bring me down today!!!!!
Being Canadian, I honestly don't get the American electoral system. Like, it's been two years of these people campaigning, and t election is still months away? Not to mention from what I've heard about them, I don't know of there's even a "good" choice to make.
And for the record, for both the last provincial as well as the federal election here, I am completely appalled with how the voting went. But everyone's perception of the lesser evil is different. Suppose we should feel lucky to live in countries where we do get a say?
Full Disclosure: the majority of what I know for this election I learned from SNL.

You sound like an American! We don't know how it works either! And we all hate all the candidates! And I get all my political info from SNL and the Daily Show mostly because our media is the worst!! We want to move to Canada!!
@HeyBooHey The grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side. However, our system is at least easier to understand. And only a few weeks of crap instead of years. Keep in mind we go through the same crap at both provincial and federal level, so the potential to be double screwed is high.
I'm always irritated when people get their panties in a wad over sex vs gender in reference to an unborn child. Yes - we know there's a difference, I promise. Do we really need to beat the horse 10,000x?
I'm not necessarily irritated, but definitely bored when people get their panties in a wad over much of anything on a public Internet forum that draws from innumerable backgrounds and perspectives. I guess I figured from the beginning that there would be a mix of people I agreed with, people I didn't agree with but whose opinions I respected, and just-plain-crazies when I joined TB. I'll grant that some issues are more important to address than others, but I'm mainly here to learn what I can from as many people as I can and to move on with my life when other people want to do things differently.
I'm always irritated when people get their panties in a wad over sex vs gender in reference to an unborn child. Yes - we know there's a difference, I promise. Do we really need to beat the horse 10,000x?
I agree with you in the reference to an unborn child. Because most of the time, what people are actually talking about and are excited about is the baby's gender, not the sex. So if somebody says they're so excited to hear that they're having a boy because of baseball and sports and dinosaurs and what have you, then yes, they are actually talking about gender.
My "panties" do get "bunched" sometimes because (a) I'm not really big on gender stereotypes in general, especially when it comes to a young baby and (b) I do believe that words are important, and can be powerful, and I generally think that trying to use the correct terminology in the correct situation is important.
@grannysmith912 I agree with you. I mostly knew what to expect going in. There has only been a couple instances where someone said something that I felt I needed to respond to and by the time I saw it, it had been addressed several times and I didn't feel like beating a dead horse.
UO, hmmm...
I don't like the relaxing vacations. I can't sit on a beach all day and not do something. I like my days filled with activities and things to do.
My UO which I wasn't going to post until I got caught up on HDBD...
I can't stand photo disclaimers. Maybe I just don't really care and just look at the cute baby bumps or furbabies or whatever the thread is about. Then only because of the disclaimer I actually notice the messy room or zit or bad hair. If they hadn't said something to begin with I never would have noticed. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying to me.
However, someone did mention that they do like looking at the background so maybe I'm in the minority in not checking out everything in the picture.
I hate Gilmore Girls. I tried, really I did. I watched it last year in an attempt to see the hype but it's terrible.
The main character is incredibly whiny, pouty and just ... there's no substance there. Her daughter can't possibly be raised by a single mother and be that naive. I am struggling to remember anything else of that show, because my psyche has erased it's tainted grasp on my memory.
Americans are screwed for another 4 years either way!
Curious, because I hear this often- I understand not being happy with either candidate, but are you really implying they are equally horrible? Because it seems like, no matter how you slice it, it would be a "win" if Hilary won. Even for Bernie supporters. Like.. one of these people may be "more of the same" but the other is a huge problem for everyone. Am I the only one that thinks this? edit: I can't type

I think all the best characters are the supporting roles. Michel, Kirk, Paris, Suki, Luke's daughter, the Grandpa. Some seasons are better than others. Overall I'm a big fan though.
Awesome Kid #1: Born September 2013! Awesome Kid #2: Due November 2016!
@whaat I know many Republicans who don't support Donald Trump but definitely wouldn't call Hilary a win.
Also so on the flip side a couple of my husband's friends are huge Bernie supporters but have said that if he doesn't win the primary they would consider voting for Trump.
I'm honestly not sure of my opinion at this point yet but that's what I've heard from other people.

I feel like in past elections there's always been (in my eyes) someone that I felt like I could really get behind and support as a leader to our country. This time, I'm kinda like, eh...
Im sure whoever is elected will probably make it through just fine, really. I feel slightly unenthusiastic about this election.

What it seems like from people I know, at this point everyone is basically voting just to get someone (usually Trump) out of office because there's not a strong candidate to vote for, and honestly H and I are pretty much doing the same thing. I don't care for ANY of the candidates, but I'd rather have Bernie or Hilary over Trump, so we're basically voting to get Trump out of office.

I think they are all challenging in their own respects and it seems even more so (at least in my naieve perspective) than any race in recent past. To me, there are no clear "winners" and I am quite uncomfortable with all options.
I cant fathom that these three front runners are truly the best representation of America, but they are who we've got I suppose.

No, I completely agree with you. It blows my mind how Bernie supporters will say they hate Hillary so much that they would vote Trump - do they not understand Hillary's policies resembles Bernie's much more than Trump?
Also maybe this is a UO for some but I think Trump is the biggest piece of shit and his supporters also blow my mind. If anyone has intelligent reasoning for their support for him that doesn't include "make America great again/he's an outsider" then I'd love to hear it.
@HomeyDontPlayThat HAAAATTTE it.... why are they talking so much? and so fast? do people really talk like that? Its so intense and stressful. Too much going on at work but I cannot wait to come back to this politics discussion. Where is prison babies?!?!? i cant find it and need it
My UO I hate it when people think naivety is a "cute" trait. As people we should be living, experiencing, learning, growing in our understanding, and adapting to all the above.
I don't like when people refer to their child as a "mini-me." Feels to me like you've already gotten everything set up for them. I am so excited to watch our baby's personality and preferences emerge, even if it looks like my face stamped onto baby's. (This coming from a woman who has her father's face stamped on her.)
I actually studied American politics in college and my husband is starting to break into local politics here, so if you are really curious, I can break down how the whole system works.
@banfrog I totally agree with you! "I'm such airhead, hehe" statements drive me crazy. Get it together! Grow, adapt, learn!!! Maybe my UO should be that I don't consider being a "know-it-all" as in insult. Why should I be ashamed of the fact that I seek more knowledge and like to share that knowledge as appropriate.
@kmmnocal Yes! Give your child the gift and honor of being unique! Don't lay their path out as just being your clone. That's why I don't like naming babies after a family member or someone. I understand and respect your decision to disagree with me because there are so many different opinions on it. But when everyone says/thinks "oh you have a lot to live up too!" How is that fair to the baby and being their own person. Maybe that should be my UO instead.
I'm into politics too. I'm a civil rights lawyer and it's just a big part of my world.
Im a Bernie supporter but not in the Bernie or Bust camp. I understand it philosophically but thinks it's a bad move practically. I'll vote for Hil in the general because I think she will prove to be the most effective candidate but there is a lot about her history and politics and influences that don't sit will with me.
@whaat I agree with you. I think these past eight years have been very interesting but based on what's important to me, good for us. But there is clearly major discontent that has been ignored and has breed intense hate. Hence, a base for trump. And although I disagree with everything in that camp, I think we better start paying attention to the parts of our nation that feel marginalized so that we don't create a reign of fascism. That's the only thing I think will "screw" us.
Oh! And I just wanted to remind everyone as a PSA of sorts. Presidents don't make laws, the congress does. If you care about the laws that govern our country vote in congressional elections! Those are the ones that matter most.
uh....my UO is that I hate when people talk about politics. Vote what you want, but don't talk about it. Ever. There's already enough TV and social media coverage, we don't need to hear any of that stuff any more. I'm going back to talking about cute baby stuff now
Oh! And I just wanted to remind everyone as a PSA of sorts. Presidents don't make laws, the congress does. If you care about the laws that govern our country vote in congressional elections! Those are the ones that matter most.
The Supreme Court nominations are what frighten me most about the prospect of a Trump presidency. That, and the fact that literally everything about him is so personally offensive to me. I can't state why I hate him in a concise way. I just start shaking and ranting.
