Great to meet you ladies! Wasn't active while pregnant but happy to have this group now.
Im Stephanie from Michigan, late 20s. FTM to Grace who is 4.5 months; born with a shockingly easy delivery as I am very petite and she was not a petite baby! I am a corporate lawyer and work 4 days a week at a large law firm. My husband is also an attorney.
EBF for 3.5 months, transitioning to formula now. Struggled with being a new mom and anxiety but feeling better everyday. Grace is a super easy baby and we feel so lucky. She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and wore a Pavlik harness 24/7 for 2 months from 7 weeks old. That hit us very hard as new parents not being able to hug your baby's body or see her toes. But she is a total rockstar and never skipped a beat wearing it. Now we are weaning out of it and hoping for good news at our final ultrasound in 2 weeks.
Hi, I'm Robin from Oxford, OH (near Cincinnati). We were team green throughout the pregnancy and our little girl (Alice Caroline) was born on her due date of December 28th. The labor experience wasn't so bad but due to a few issues our daughter was in the special care nursery for four days. We had a bit of a rough start and breastfeeding was so much harder than I ever thought. We have supplemented since the beginning but we are still breastfeeding - she enjoys it and I love the snuggles. I'm not sure how much longer we will BF but I hope to make it at least 6 months, maybe longer as long as my meager supply holds on.
I am a SAHM and the husband is a college professor. Alice is our first human baby, we also have a golden retriever. I hope to give her a sibling one day but we'll just have to wait and see. I'm 33 so I kind of feel like my clock is ticking but I'm really enjoying giving Alice all my attention. The last month or so has been wonderful. She isn't as gassy anymore and is generally in much better spirits. Its so much fun to see her personality develop. Now if we can just figure this whole sleep thing out!
Hi I'm Taylor from California and FTM. I was here every so often during my pregnancy, but didn't participate often. My LO was due 12/29 and born 01/01- it was an insane labor. I'm a SAHM, but I do work twice a week as a preschool teacher. I'm actually hoping now that things have settled and we're in more of routine to be able to participate here more regularly.
My mom grew up in Germany! Bouncing around from Berlin to Traunreut! I went there for a month in highschool! Mostly Ubersee/Chiemsee/Munchen area! One of my most favourite experiences! I still have family in Bielefeld! Jealous you actually live there! I've never been to Baden-Wurttemberg! @goldochsi
I'm Stephanie from MN, my LO is Lucas and he was born on 12/14, just 3 days after his due date. I had an easy pregnancy and easy delivery (only time I'll ever say thank goodness for my hips being wide). I FF Lucas because my boobs couldn't keep up with him and I was ready to have more than 1 glass of wine whenever I wanted.
Happy to have this group to learn from & share together as a FTM who doesn't know squat.
I am from Boston and work in Real Estate. We have had several losses, including my December babies. I found my home here though. DH and I are cautiously optimistic that we will have our rainbow baby this July, as I am currently 30 weeks along. Team green FTW.
My parenting style includes not using drugs or drinking, taking it easy and trying to avoid all the prohibited foods.
Hi! I'm Tab from GA. Been lurking for a while, off and on, when I need to research anything. My LO was born on Dec 11, 2 days before her due date, in spite of everyone betting she would be early! Dramatic cinematic-style losing of the waters, and 20 1/2 hours later, Miss M arrived via unplanned c-section. I'm a FTM and SAHM...also, older. Was having chronic health issues, got them under control and magically got pregnant a few months later, right around the time I was getting ready to re-enter the working world.
Struggled with BF, tried to pump. Ravenous baby+no milk=formula. Post partum migraines have been tough, very brief period of colic but, lots of help from Daddy. (Thank God!)
Now we're trying solids and have cut 2 teeth since last week!
*jealous of the Bumpies who posted from Scotland and Germany! LOVE Scotland, and haven't been to Germany yet. Germany will be our next big trip, when we can actually take it, now that we have LO it may be a while! Baden Württemberg is actually on my list of places to visit!
Hi there! I'm Kirsten from Kansas. Mom to Rowan born on Dec 9 (almost 2 weeks early). I work about 15 hrs a week and my mom watches DS during those times. He is EBF and a chunk (19 lbs 3 oz 97%)! I'm blessed with a super happy, easy going baby.
Majority of my friends call me Mizu (short for Mizuiro-not my real name). Also from Kansas. SAHM of two. DS is 18m and DD was induced 11/25 but was due 12/1.
We ebf most days. We take it one day at a time. DS was EFF so we've had experience with both. DD has one tooth through and currently loves animals and stealing her brothers trains, cars, and megablocks. Oh and this week we added crawling after the cat.
@MotherOfDragons that's not far away from where I live. I was an Au Pair in Pennsylvania. And I've been to New York and Florida. We will be back when Jonathan is old enough to enjoy it!
I've been a lurker around the boards so I'll use this opportunity to introduce myself and start participating ! I'm a first time mom to my 5 mo, William. I'm very fortunate to be mostly a sahm with some part time freelance work on the side. We have struggled with sleep, the only thing he doesn't seem to like , but otherwise things have run smoothly for us. Not sure that we follow a method, it's mostly following William's lead and a routine has recently started falling into place.
Angelica from AZ. My son was born on his due date Dec 2nd via scheduled C section. No issues just didn't want to birth a 10 lbs baby vaginally, lol. He was born an oz away from the 10 therefore I still stand by my decision.
I have been here since I found out I was pregnant last March however wasn't very active until he was born. As some of you know my son is high needs/high spirited. I was a corporate manager with full intentions to return however due to his needs, I had to resign and now am a SAHM. It's bittersweet. Its not who I am but feel at peace I'm taking care of him.
My style is very much attachment parenting. I nurse on demand as he is EBF and we bedshare. I would wear him but dislikes it as he does most things lol so I carry his almost 20 lbs around.
In my late 20s,happily married to my wife of 2 years. Our baby boy is our first.
I remember your dilemma of returning to to work or staying home. I'm happy it all worked out and I bet baby is too to have you there with him
i work with a little petite woman who birthed a 10 pounder and the kid ripped her from top to butthole. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for the cs, my coworker should have had one.
@Gingermom15 aw thank you! Yes I did go back for 3 weeks. I had a family member take care of him and she only lasted 4 days! As I predicted, he was too much to handle and poor thing suffered. I'll go back one day. I keep telling myself it's just a pause from my career. Whats important is that he is much happier now.
And your poor coworker! Yeah I am 5'1, 112 lbs. My OB said "you can try but the odds are against you..." lol I appreciate it!
I've been lurking since we found out I was pregnant, but I'm just so awkward so I don't post very much. Jackson was born on 12/22, and is the happiest and busiest baby ever. He is our first and hopefully not last. He is EBF and we co-sleep (mainly because I'm too lazy to reach over to the bassinet to get him out & back in). We just go with the flow and do what works for us. I'm from Shreveport, LA where the weather doesn't know what to do. I currently work full time for my FIL and is a full time student (getting my accounting degree). My DH is graduating after the summer so I'm hoping I'll be able to be a SAHM when he can find a better job. We just recently started Jackson in a in-home daycare 3 days a week, and he comes to work with me the other 2 days.
I've been lurking since we found out I was pregnant, but I'm just so awkward so I don't post very much.
I'm the opposite.. awkward in person so I love that I can post here lol! I've used ''preggoandglowong' since I found out I was pregnant and now I hate it, thinking about changing it. Anyway, I live in L.A. and had my baby girl on her due date of 12/21. Not at all bragging but I had an easy pregnancy, easy delivery, and DD is the happiest baby. Now I'm scared for our next baby because they say the first one is the "trick" baby. Unfortunately I am returning to work in the next month.
Who: Casandra Where: Oklahoma... Somewhere in the middle Mom to: twins, Ariel and Aurora and 3 others, ages 13, 9, and 7 Born: December 3 Profession: SAHM for 14 years Beverage of choice: coffee! More coffee!!
Aw but, I've been to the 'boro...you're so close to Savannah! We actually go to Savannah pretty often, we got married there. Love it. We live in the burbs...so not super cool haha!
I second the beverage of choice! I think Hubs and I have bred another coffee junkie, she tries to wrestle me for my cup every morning. The dog cannot be trusted either.
Love twins. Was super scared of, and sort of hoping for them. We have them on both sides, and my great great grandfather had like 3 sets!
I'm L. I'm a SAHM to 4 LOs. My first 2 were girls and are not so little anymore. DD1 is 8 and will be competing on her school's track and field team next week. I can't wait to see her put all her energy to good use! DD2 is 6 and is my little artist. She has always made more pictures than I have room for, but she's now starting to make little books with them instead. DS1 just turned 3, and is so outgoing! He's full of energy too (really, they all are) and loves trying to do what the girls can. Last night he learned how to swing to the second monkey bar at the park.
DS2 is Matthew. He was born on his cousin's 3rd birthday, and is already trying to keep up with the other kids. He hates being put down or left alone even for a minute. We mostly breastfeed, but he does get formula on occasion if I'm away from home or my supply seems to be having a hard time keeping up with his appetite! I am not excited to start solids with him, and am taking advantage of midnight snuggles by bedsharing most nights because he is my last, and I will miss this stage so terribly when it's over!
My parenting style is mostly do-what-works-to-keep-us-sane. We bedshare so that I can get enough sleep to function the next day (and the snuggles). I wear him in a wrap so I can get stuff done. I will let him cry for a few minutes without too much guilt if something needs to be done at a certain time (like dinner for the big kids) or if we've had a rough day and I need a minute or two break from holding him. In the end, the smiles and coos and I-love-yous make even the hardest days worth it all.
Hey everyone! I've been somewhat active since pregnancy but reluctant to divulge too much personal info (names, pics) since I have had an issue with a stalker in RL. Month 3 was hard and stressful but the clouds seemed to part at 4.5 months and still chill at 5 months old. Knock on wood. I was a makeup artist before, but I lost interest since pregnancy and I really want to start selling my paintings but it's hard to find the time to paint with a baby!
Parenting style is go with the flow- Attachment mixed with a little bit of RIE. There was so much I wanted to do but you have to let that sht go. For example I wanted to baby-wear all the time but he only started at 5 month to accept being worn.
I'm Allysa, 30, from California but currently in the Chicago area (DH is navy, we will be going to Virginia next). Didn't find out we were expecting until 2 months in, DH was my boyfriend at the time and in the middle of boot camp. Couldn't get married until November because I was waiting on a divorce decree and San Diego courts are backed up for months, so I spent pretty much all my pregnancy across the country from DH which was hard. Finally was able to move here and be together with him in early December once we got the paperwork in to his barracks, and had Zane 2 weeks later. Planned for an all natural birth but had to be induced at 38+5 because my water started leaking and no active labor after 24 hours. Lived the scariest, most dramatic 9 minutes of my life when Zane came out blue and not breathing and had to be resuscitated. The 9 minutes it took felt like forever, scared that I might be leaving the hospital with no sweet little baby in my arms. Didn't get to hold him until later in the nursery. He was 6lb 7oz, 19in, and is now 4mo 1wk, 16lb and 24.5in. He is EBF, not counting the dextrose IV he had for the first day. BF has been difficult; nipple pain from the beginning, treated for thrush after suffering for almost a month, which seemed to clear up but still had tingly nipple sensations. Started exclusively pumping around 2 months due to the pain, now being treated for Reynauds but it isn't helping much and now he won't take the breast so I'm stuck pumping for the rest of our breastfeeding time. It's difficult to find the time to pump and wash parts and bottles as I'm home alone with Zane most of the time, but I'm happy to do it for my sweet little smiley boy. I'm also the weirdo on this board who sometimes drinks my own milk (bottle leftovers) but hey I haven't gotten sick yet and it seems to help burn off weight. Haven't had many leftovers lately as Zane is incredibly hungry. He takes about 6oz per feeding, and around 9oz for his last feeding before bedtime. I'm currently a SAHM but I have a Juris Doctorate and passed the California bar exam but haven't filed my moral character application because it's expensive and I went to a state accredited school which does me no good moving around with the navy, so we will see in a few years if I will pick back up on pursuing a career as an attorney. Last but not least, I'm a raver and haven't stopped during pregnancy or after baby. Met DH at a rave club and electronic music is our thing. I pushed to trance music, best part was when old songs from around 2000 would come on and the midwife and nurse were like "oh dang this is an oldie!" Lol! They were totally on board! We are taking Zane with us to a camping music festival this summer ^_^
Hi, I'm Jennifer from Oregon. I've been active since pregnancy but don't post often. I'm 33 and I have a 3 1/2-year-old boy and DD was born on Christmas eve! I'm a SAHM.
I'm Lola. I had girl/boy twins at 35w5d due to pre-e. Had a c-section because we were worried about DD going into distress, so the fisting was a waste of time for us. I'm a Pisces. My love for long walks on the beach has changed to love for long showers. And some random cliché about how much I enjoy motherhood.
I was a Jan mama but my little guy came on Dec 29. 20 hours of labor before an emergency c-section. I am from Vancouver BC Canada. I am an art therapist, and a first time mom. I don't really have a parenting style I am just going with the flow and giving my baby what I think he needs at the time. Being from Canada I am super lucky to have had a long mat leave and my husband has taken 5 months off so we could learn how to be parents together. My baby is named Callum Alexander and he is a chubby baby with blonde hair and big blue eyes. So far he looks like me with a hint of daddy. He is a pretty happy dude that spends a lot of time giggling and blowing bubbles. Recently our teething journey has started making things a bit rocky and the 4 month sleep regression. Oh well! Happy Mother's Day ladies!
I'm Megan and live in Upstate NY. I had a little boy named Griffin, on Dec. 16th. I was originally apart of the Jan 16' group. Griff came at 34 weeks, for no real rhyme or reason (I'm sure there was a reason, just nothing medically wrong with him or I, thankfully). Dr.'s said everything looked good on my end as well as the baby's, so they didn't have an explanation for me. He spent 9 days in the NICU, and we took him home on Christmas Day, (will forever be the BEST present in my life). I am a FTM and for the most part, LO has been a very good baby. He is starting to consistently sleep through the night, and is pretty happy and content otherwise.
I work as a Special Education teacher. DH is a welder for a big university where we live. I contribute mostly on the FB group that we've got going for the Dec. moms, but will still post Monthly photos and comment here and there on other threads on this board. I am still quite active on the Jan 16' board though, as I was on it, up until DS's birth.
Hey, I'm Jillian. Originally from Ontario, DD Isabelle "Izzy" was born 11/25 at 38w6d in Kentucky. I was induced due to GD and the beginning signs of pre-e. Induction didn't work so well and after 30 hours I couldn't get to 10cm so the minute they said c-section I said "hell ya!" I always had a feeling she wouldn't want to come out on her own! We just moved to St. Louis in January for DD's job. He does IT work for Nestlé and I'm a part time oncology nurse. DD is EFF due to my huge boobs with flat nipples and my lack of desire to be strapped to a pump after I hit 10 weeks. My supply suffered and I said screw it. How else am I a horrible mom? Let's see... She sleeps in her own crib, in her own room, has since she was 12 weeks old, she's already eating rice, oatmeal, bananas and pears... All store bought of course. I also let her cry and fuss for a bit and see if she calms down before I rush into her room. Oh yeah, and today I let her lick a little donut icing off my fingers because I wanted to give her a treat. I'm truly awful But seriously, she's so happy! I couldn't ask for a better behaved, sweeter little girl. She STTN already... She loves sleep, just like her mama! The worlds most effective trap baby! I'm 33 so I need to hurry up and get going on baby #2... We will probably start trying at the end of the year.
Hey! Kristi, 23. I'm originally from central Wisconsin, but my husband is active duty in the Air Force and we currently reside on the island of Guam (I hate it!) we are preparing to PCS soon and hoping to move to Europe of Hawaii! Germany is high on our list! I have two daughters! Addie is almost 7, I had her when I was very young, her father and I stayed together and got married 3 years later and we added Genevieve December 30th. 6 days past her due date. I'm a stay at home mother for now, I exclusively breastfeed, love to baby wear, I'm obsessed with putting my babygirl in oversized bows, I have a bad iced coffee addiction, and I'm a strong advocate for vaccinating! I've been on here since I was about 4 weeks pregnant with G and I check back every now and then:)
Hi!! I'm Cynthia and I'm in Orlando. I have a 5yo daughter and Nico. Nico was born at 38 weeks via repeat c section due to my blood pressure skyrocketing from finding out about my soon to be ex husbands affair.
Nico is the most smiliest baby ever and nurses while I'm at home. He gets pumped milk while I work. We bedshare and he hates sleep, some nights is still up every two hours.
Parenting philosophy? It's IDGAF about anything. Kid(s) are fed and happy. I'm trying to figure out life as a recent single mom so whatever works, works.
Also? I wouldn't trade my two little turds for anything in this world. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi friends! Sorry i'm not on here that much anymore, I try to catch up when I can! I'm Deia from San Diego, mom to 4 month old Isla. My DD was 12/28 but induced and had her on 1/5. I work 4 hours in the office and the rest from home, still EBF (between nursing and pumping) - can't believe we made it this far!
Hey I'm Sarah, my baby Benjamin was born December 27th and he is awesome! He's a chunker at 15.6lbs at his 4 month appt. He's breast fed currently and I pump every once in a while. Most days he's happy and sleeps well at night!
my husband and I are moving back to New England after both being in the active duty Army for the last 10yrs. We are excited to bring the baby close to family and raise him as a New Englander!
I am a critical care nurse and hoping to go to grad school with my GI Bill. Right now I'm technically a stay at home mom which is new for me not to be working! But it feels liberating after 10yrs to be able to choose to stay home instead of the Army dictating what I'm going to do!

Hi I'm Katie from Oregon. Nixon was born on December 13. My first baby! I am currently a pharmacy technician and soon to be nursing student! So far we have a very easy go with the flow baby. We do what works for us.. I'm super ocd and trying to give up caring about housework so I can spend as much time as I can with LO. I love this board because I find it so helpful when I have questions and I like everyone's different view point!

I've been somewhat active since pregnancy but reluctant to divulge too much personal info (names, pics) since I have had an issue with a stalker in RL. I haven't been as active since baby came and snark was quietly banned here on TB, but I miss it.
Fisting for life.
my husband and I are moving back to New England after both being in the active duty Army for the last 10yrs.
