My almost 10 month old has been waking up almost every 3 hours at night for a couple weeks now and seems to be waking up for the day earlier every day. At one point he was able to sleep for a good 7-8 hour stretch at night with 1 overnight bottle. I can't get him back to sleep without giving him a bottle. I don't know if it's a sleep regression? Teething? His top teeth seem to be taking forever to poke thru. His gums have looked swollen for about 2 months now and still no top teeth. Or have I just created terrible sleep habits? I've never been able to get him to fall asleep in his crib by himself at night but occasionally he will for his morning nap. I've made a poor attempt at CIO but neither of us are good at it. I can't stand to hear him cry and he only cries worse when I go in to check on him. I've been hoping that'll he'll eventually just drop the feedings on his own and magically start sleeping thru the night but I'm quickly losing that hope. Any suggestions??
Re: Sleep troubles
You could have a teething problem though. My girl has two teeth that have stopped growing. They started two months ago and then just stopped and haven't started back up again. It's really annoying. If your boys gums are swollen, I don't think they have stopped so they should be out soon. You should try the water trick to see if it help.
