@Katienu DH took some pictures of him laughing to send to his mom and he actually looks adorable, just less like a baby
To add insult to injury for the poor kid, the dentist said he shouldn't use a pacifier for the next 2-3 weeks. Thankfully, he only uses it to sleep, but it was incredibly painful to have to tell him "no paci" at bedtime. Like he hasn't been through enough today!
I have started tracking my blood sugar and restricting carbs for my GD, all going fine, but...
I have never wanted a slice of cake with gobs of frosting so much in my life! I don't even particularly like cake, and I hate icing. When I eat cake at weddings, I scrape the frosting off. It is just the perversity of human nature, I suppose, to want what you can't have.
even though I know showers for second babies go against all etiquette rules, I am really hoping someone will throw one for me. It is not uncommon in my area to have a "sprinkle" for a second baby, and I would love to have one. Not so much for gifts (although I wouldn't mind rounding out our current stuff with some girly stuff), but I really just want to have all my friends in one place to celebrate together.

I went to a Bengali pre-wedding reception last night. It was supposed to start at 7 but we got there around 7:15 thinking we were late. More than half of the ballroom was empty. I was so tempted to lurk on TB but I didn't want to be that rude guest sitting in that chivari chair glued to her phone. Now I'm totally regretting it!!!
Also, they started at 8:30...so maybe this is a cultural thing and lessons learned. Their ceremony today starts at 2:30 but now I'm wondering...is it at 2:30 or...4? I guess we'll just have to find out.
FFFC: We sat next to another couple who we know through B&G that were pregnant but a month ahead of us. The wife had small portions of food (buffet style) on her plate while my plate looked like an en explosion of some sort. I couldn't stop eating and DH gave me this look of, "ok hon you're reaching your barbaric stage." Well you know what? Can't stop won't stop. I got up to fill up my second plate and the wife just stared at me (we all know what that implies). This dinner happened at 9:30. Again with the time stated vs. what that time really means. Please don't let [preggo] guests starve and I don't fking care if the other couple thought I was overstuffing myself. You all do you. Just because we're both due around the same time doesn't mean we need to go in this judgment/comparison zone.
