I set an alarm only way I remember lol

I feel the same way! I waited 5 years from my last one cuz I was so afraid of being pregnant again and feeling awful the whole time. I finally got up the courage and told myself it had to be better the second time and it's not...... =/

  • @nlane0723 I forget almost every day now that my doctor made me switch to taking them in the morning. You just reminded me to go take them. Lol

My confession, since I have to go to like 5 bridal showers this year and I have controversial opinions on showers, is that I hate bridal showers. I think they're outdated. They made sense back when people got married young and moved in from their parents' house after the wedding. But now people get married older after living on their own for years. And every one I've been to, the couple lived together first. They have everything they need. If they don't, I'm happy to go....but I've honestly never been to one where they didn't have their own place together.

I only had one because my friends harassed me for months. It was last minute and it was tiny. Half the stuff I got has never come out of the box and the other half is used daily...but I had to pack away perfectly good things to make room for the new ones. I didn't need any of it and I feel horribly guilty that people spent money on it.

Baby showers I love. They make sense. It's all new stuff that the couple needs that they obviously wouldn't buy beforehand since you never know what could happen. But bridal showers don't make sense to me and I find them boring.

Ive gotten flamed for all my baby shower confessions/opinions, so let's see how this one goes over. Lol

@nlane0723 i too forget to take my prenatal pills, sometimes purposely. (i feel horrible saying that). I've tried everything i could possibly think of but i still feel super sick after taking them. It's come down to where i take them every 2-3 days maybe 4 and just make sure i eat the prenatal gummies during the days in between even though i know they don't contain any iron.Somehow this doesn't make me feel as horrible as not taking anything at all. lol

  • I didn't shower yesterday, and I had leftover Taco Bell Cinnabon delights for breakfast along with some leftover, flat ginger ale. So much for my plan that once my appetite came back I would eat all healthy.

@krzyriver we may not see eye to eye on baby showers ;) but I agree with your view of bridal showers. I did have one, but H and I married the weekend before graduating from grad school and though we had lived together for almost a year at that point, we only had our crappy college stuff and very little of what would be needed for an actual home. Even then, I felt uncomfortable about it.

  • I'm usually terrible at going to family events because while I care about my extended family, I find the travel time exhausting and I can't usually stand to be around people a sixth day out of the week after already having to be around them for five.

BUT I am looking forward to a couple of gatherings in the next month because 1.) The semester will be over so I won't be around people that many days a week and 2.) 'Cause I'm pregnant now and people can talk to me about that and make a big deal out of me.

    Yep, I'm a monster.

  • My FI and I are probably going to elope on BA beach before the baby is born and not tell anyone. We still want our beautiful wedding but know financially it will be a while before we can.
  • I am very seriously thinking about going to the mobile bus today for a free ultrasound just to find out if Peanut is a boy or girl. I could wait, but since I'm in the middle of switching doctors and my previous doctor can't get it together, i have no idea when my next appointment will be.
  • @UponAStar16 I didn't shower this morning before work, I had taco bell for dinner the night before last and pizza for dinner last night. I'm failing at life but it's good to know I'm not alone ;)

My confession is I don't think I like being pregnant. I thought I would love it and it would be this magical time full of excitement and anticipation but I'm just a huge ball of anxiety and every little twinge sends me in a tailspin. I just want to fast forward to October.
I'm the same way.  I honestly didn't want any more kids after my first, not because I didn't want to be a mother again but because I hate the experience of pregnancy so much.  I research every worst case scenario and freak out.  I did the same thing after my son was born (he'd didn't get much sleep for me constantly checking that he was still breathing).     The 5 months between now and Oct can't come soon enough

My confession is pretty much the opposite of what's been posted already: I can totally wait until October to have this baby. I love the time we're having as a little family of three and I'm in no rush to change it up. This baby is very, very wanted but I savor the 40 weeks of preparation and excitement.

@agogo1 See, I wouldn't mind in a case like yours. That's nothing like these people who already own a house and they're putting $300 blenders and picture frames on their registry. Lol. But I can see how it would still make you feel uncomfortable.

@UponAStar16 Yeah, I don't really do engagement parties either. I politely decline those, although most people I know don't throw them.

@daisy19782011 I don't mind baby showers because most people I know have had difficulty getting/staying pregnant like myself. So they don't want to buy anything till about 5 months. 4 months is a short time to get everything together, so I enjoy being helpful and I always love buying baby stuff. Lol. But yeah they're still not my favorite thing to actually sit through.  :#

  • My confessions is that before we had DD, our 2 cats were my babies and our entire world. Now, they've fallen by the wayside. Don't get me wrong--we still care for them and love them!--but I find them more annoying than anything lately. It used to be cute when the one would "talk," and now it's all "don't wake up the damn baby!" I feel so awful saying that. Now I need to go home and give them some love and attention : (
  • I cried  in the middle of the night last night because I was so tired but couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep.  I'm a stomach sleeper and can't find a comfortable position now.   I felt like a huge baby but just really wanted some sleep
  • My second FFFC is that the weight post annoyed the hell out of me. Not because it was a weight post, but because of the responses of people who are like "yeah, I weigh exactly the same as I did pre-pregnancy." Thanks for making me feel like a fat cow.
I think this might have been why I got defensive and posted about not comparing and just consulting with your doctor. In the moment, I felt like it was sound advice because I was reading the post, comparing myself to the OP and worrying that I'm gaining too much even though I'm following all the given guidelines. Looking back, I see that I was a bit defensive and I hate getting into confrontations, even internet ones.

  • @mrscorker I feel the same way, last time I was pregnant I had a blighted ovum and I was super stocked to be pregnant. Now just a few months later getting pregnant I don't believe it is real. I have a couple good days after the ultrasound then I am back to wondering what is going on. Plus my body just hates being pregnant, the aches and pains, sickness is no fun and games...

I'm the same way after an US. I'm good for about a week and then I start to worry that something has gone wrong since the last scan. It doesn't help that I'm super crampy and getting stabbing pains in my abdomen. I called my OB and was assured everything is fine and normal but man, it's uncomfortable and makes me anxious.

  • I enjoyed my Dec '11 birth board where we weren't restricted to posting on certain threads. "All intros post here" "All u/s pics post here" It makes this board seem so much slower. And if you post outside of those threads, you are referred to post in the correct thread....shrug...maybe that's more of an opinion?

Us too. We picked up our marriage license on Wednesday, and booked our officiant yesterday.  We are getting married at the shores of Coronado Beach, and only my best friend will be there since she's our witness.... and her boyfriend, since he's a pro photographer.  We are just gonna tell people after the fact.  I guess my FFFC is that I don't even want a beautiful wedding, since we've "been there, done that" with our previous marriages.  I also don't even want to wear rings.

You can post wherever you want, just don't get bent out of shape if the responses you get aren't super positive.

I get what you're saying, but it just helps keep things organized! If there are several different threads about the same thing, something might get missed and it's all a big blur. I like organization lol... that's why I respond negatively

Yes I see what your saying, may 2013 was busy and I liked it. I would rather read a few posts than weed through a 18 page thing of ultra sound pictures, but that's just me I guess.

  • @szwill86 Party hats!! I knew something was missing! Well, there's always next year... Adorable pups, by the way. ;)
  • One more FFFC - I just had McDonald's for lunch.  I was too lazy to make something before work today, and usually if I don't bring, I'll run out and get a salad, but it's pouring and I only wanted to walk outside once...so I went through drive-thru. Then I ate it at my desk, like I was guiltily trying to hide it...even though there's only one other person in the office.  Whatever - it was delicious. I'm a little sad it's all gone now.
