check ups

Hi ladies!

My son went to his 9 month check up today and his hemoglobin was low, and we were told to get drops to put in his food for iron. Anemia runs in my family and I work in hematology so I am not too concerned but curious if anyone else had this issue. My son is FF and gets purees and some of what we eat.

    LO has moderate anemia.  I'm not too concerned, he didn't take much in terms of solids until 8 months and is EBF, so that could be why.  I got the iron drops and tried putting it in his food but he could taste it and wouldn't eat.  Now I just squirt it in his mouth after he eats.  He's had issues with constipation since starting solids and the iron makes it worse, so I'm hoping his level corrects soon.
