The only problem is I thought I could be miss independent and do everything myself and it backfired. Lesson learned. @lilwonderWith the patient portal thing, I have tried that and the company isn't even processing my blood work since there was no doctor signature on the paperwork. My understanding is it's a liability thing and if my results come back with disappointing news then a doctor needs to follow up with me to discuss options.

Ok just to clear some things up. I do have an OB that I see, but they do not work with Natera. No I did not take the blood myself, a phlebotomist was scheduled to come to my house to take my blood and it happened to be her first time working with the company so she had no idea how to fil out the paperwork. The test y OB offered was going to be more expensive whereas Natera rep told me it would cost nothing to me. I have never said I have downs syndrome (that is the best one by far).  I do not "pop into places for sonograms". I had mentioned I went to one for my first u/s because I was impatient , but they turned out to be all psycho religious. I have had one u/s by my OB and I wanted another because DF couldn't make it.  And I do not want the testing just for the gender I have downs syndrome in my family history and it would be nice to gather up any and all info about my fetus as possible

Should I take one of those proof pictures? I don't have time to be a catfish.
Did you read what I wrote about Natera's online portal? Seriously, I think you can just get your results on there-- I logged in this morning and mine were there! The paper that comes with the kit was a carbon-copy type so I'm sure one went off to Natera and the other copy should have been handed to you? The Kit ID number and Case ID number are both on there. OR, when I called Natera, they were happy to give me my case ID number-- all they asked me for was my DOB, phone number and full name. Maybe try this? I'm just trying to help you out here, without the expense or trouble of you having to find another OB to order the test, again. And I agree with you wanting to get it done if you have a family history of Downs... makes sense to me.

Why did you kill that thread last night that you started? With the wonky GIF that makes it impossible for people to post thereafter?

I get why you did it the first time in a way, but it was really odd to do it to your own thread that nothing controversial was going on in. You're going to get banned if you keep racking up ToU violations. Just sayin'.

Apparently my gif was way too big, I got a violation for that this morning. It's only my second one, I'll be on my est behavior from now on.

ETA: Someone mentioned I'm 17, but no I'm 18. And that topic is over and done with.
See, I wasn't too far off. I remembered something about Downs, I just couldn't remember the details. So instead of you having it, it was a history in your family. I was just pointing out that is probably why you wanted the test.

Nah she said she had it (see "entertainment" thread)
  • Yeah I definitely meant to say "I have downs syndrome" instead of "I have downs syndrome in my family"

If you have a risk factor, from what I understand, your OB would not have hesitated to offer you the test and it would have been covered by your insurance.
I didn't even ask my dr about it. I called the company just to get info on it and rep started asking me about my insurance info and my family history and offered to have the kit shipped the next day. I have never dealt with this so I assumed it was standard procedure. He instructed me to take the kit to my next dr appt and they would do my blood work, but then they refused to since they don't work with the company.

Your nurse intake appointment with your OB office would have told them you had a risk and it would have been a discussion with your doctor about your options for testing. Didn't you fill out a huge history questionnaire or have a long intake appointment?

So who scheduled the phlebotomist to come to your house then, if you were supposed to take it to your Dr?

I just don't get some of this, it's weird. Surely you can see that.

No I have that appointment today. My last appt was just me seeing an ultrasound tech.

I completely agree that it's weird, but I'm telling the truth. It kind of sucks that I'm being seen as a fake now, but I can definitely prove that I'm real. The rep, some guy named Fernando, is the guy who scheduled the blood draw at my house.

@HomeyDontPlayThat I could see how it could've happened in this case, though it sounds like the phone rep screwed up in sending out the kit in the first place. For Panorama, you call the mobile phlebotomist yourself to schedule. I just had to do it on Tuesday since my midwife couldn't draw my blood for the Panorama test (she stabbed me 3x trying and gave me a giant bruise, but no successful draw). When I called to schedule, they asked if I had the kit and the form filled out, then went from there.

Was supposed to be getting my results back today, but the company won't give them to me because I need a doctor to sign off on my panorama. Really frustrated because I didn't even go through my doctor to get the test in the first place.
This is what I don't get... Makes it seem like you had the draw done.

ETA: While I think this is fishy. I hope you do get some results. Off to my NT scan!

Yes did you get the draw or no? If so, did it go to a lab? This isn't making any sense.
  • What @HomeyDontPlayThat said. Except I'll go a step further and say I won't join any FB groups at all - if we know each other, we are already fb friends. If not, I'm not sharing that much with a stranger. Sorry but not sorry - I'm ok with being anti-social (last week DH asked if we should get to know more young parents face-to-face, and I was like, what for - we have two couple friends with babies and that's two play dates for our baby, good enough).

My kid is so cute, you'll steal his pictures and pass them off as your own.
You know "DF" has already received someone's ultrasound pic by now. Probably one with twins, because go big or go home.

  • OMG @HomeyDontPlayThat that is horrifying
    I know I know but I can't stop laughing at it.  :D

@navybride93 I LOVE that cake. I don't think I could use anything like that though. It wouldn't be worth the gross jokes that DH's grandmother would make.

I didn't see the gif, but I assume it was the same as, or similar to, your last thread killer gif which you got your first TOU violation for, no? So you obviously would have known it was a no-no to post it...so why bother when you know the BGs are just going to flag you and remove it?
