Next milestone/appointment? Another U/S on Friday, at a private office. Hoping to record the heartbeat to share with DH this time.
Rant/Rave/Anything else: Lots of anxiety this week, as this is about the time frame of confirming our loss. That combined with hormones and DH being gone, I'm a mess. Also, craving certain foods then not wanting them at all as soon as I'm done preparing!!! Baby, please let me eat!
Questions?
GTKY: If money was no option where would your next vacation be? Back to Scotland where we had our honeymoon. For a LONG stay, with added exploring (we mostly stayed in Edinburgh last time) and some time in England and Ireland while we're there!
TY @aevan011 and thinking of you this week! FX for Friday!
*random question* any Canadians here that got to hear the heartbeat so early? For anyone that has heard is it done with the Transvaginal ultrasound?? So far I've only seen mine (which I am completely happy with) but I think it would be awesome to hear it! I feel like this is more a USA thing? I guess maybe I could have asked about hearing it last week, I just thought it was automatic for them to turn the sound on the Doppler portion on? just curious
@R0824H not a Canadian, but FWIW I think I only got to hear the HB because I went to a perinatologist for my last u/s and he had super high-tech equipment. I was pretty surprised that I got to hear it. I'm sure it won't happen again for a while, because it was just a scheduling fluke that my Ob sent me to him for a visit.
@cjt121413 ohh ok, that is awesome you could hear it! I've just seen a couple people mentioning that they heard it and so I was just curious to see if there were any differences. I think in US you guys get to see an OB right away? and in Canada if you are low risk you don't normally see one until 24-28 weeks.

I'm in the US and I get to see mine at 11 weeks. I had a MMC last pregnancy around 9 weeks and they did the ultrasound with a transvaginal wand to get a clearer picture and see if there was anything viable and there wasn't, just an empty sac and no baby or heartbeat or anything. So I think the transvaginal gives the clearest picture during early pregnancy but obviously they won't do the transvaginal through the whole pregnancy, they do transabdominal for the anatomy scan that I know of.

Yeah, I think most Obs first see pregnant patients at around 7-8 weeks. With this pregnancy, my doc saw me earlier because of my recent loss, but not all docs would do that. I guess seeing an Ob earlier is one advantage to U.S. medical care, although I'd still trade you for that bad ass maternity leave and not paying through the roof in health insurance premiums.
Hi all- I'm new to the weekly check in and this BMB. I had been hesitant to intro myself here because of our loss back in July. I'm an anxious mess this time around super worried something will go wrong, but I had an ultrasound last week and saw the heartbeat (139) and this little bean growing, so I'm trying to let myself feel hopeful, too!
Weeks: 6w5d
Next milestone/appointment? Another U/S on Friday. I had an u/s on Monday, as well, because I had a little bit of spotting over the weekend. Everything looked good, but I apparently have some bleeding behind my placenta? The doctor didn't seem too concerned and said a number of things could cause it, but we are hoping it has stopped or is stopping when I go in Friday. I'm really nervous about that news..but trying to stay positive. I've also had freaking pneumonia for a week and know my coughing so hard isn't helping matters.
Rant/Rave/Anything else: I basically answered this in the last question, lol. Rant would be that I hate how my symptoms come and go. Symptoms give me reassurance and when they're not here, I'm panicky! I also just stay crampy, which totally blows.
Questions?
GTKY: If money was no option where would your next vacation be? Italy. Mmmm, pasta.
Just a quick update- u/s went well measured a few days behind (9w1d) but everything looks great-heard HB again and Doctor is very optimistic and excited. Next step NIPT and NT screen. So relieved.

@Kristonita12 I am 6w5days and had a MMC last July too. I am a nervous wreck, but saw a heartbeat on Monday and am trying to remember that + not lose my mind! Symptoms are stronger some days than other and that contributes to my crazy anxiety. I'll be thinking of you :-)
Hi all! I'm been hesitant to introduce myself, but I'm trying to stay positive, so here goes. I'm Erin, 37, second pregnancy, hopefully first baby. I wasn't supposed to be able to get pregnant naturally (AMH is 0.21) and had pretty much given up trying and was working towards adoption when I got my BFP. I'm still in shock, but super excited and trying to stay positive.
Weeks: 8 weeks, 6 days Next milestone/appointment: Not until the end of May. We had our first ultrasound almost 2 weeks ago and everything was good, strong heartbeat (167) and measuring right on schedule, but gosh it's hard to wait so long between appointments when I'm anxious. Rant/Rave/Anything else: Everything smells bad these days and I'm hungry all the time, but everything I think of to eat sounds disgusting. On the plus side, yay for symptoms, right? GTKY: If money was no option where would your next vacation be?: Ireland. Never been, but have always wanted to go.
