We're using this to announce on Facebook. It took a lot of cookies and when we got up, DH and I realized we had been kneeling in dog poop so that was nice
@whitneyf1 Adorable! Our dogs are twins, btw. We also have a black lab who looks exactly like yours, and yes, it would have taken a ton of cookies to get that photo lol
@babycanneyfor the birthday announcement what about a pic of you opening a present that has baby stuff and Us pics inside the box? Maybe put a happy birthday hat and streamer around the background?
Or or this pic but put a birthday cake in there and say "best birthday cake ever!"
This is my nephew who I've been obsessed with since the day he was born! He's going to announce for us! We're still waiting a few more weeks to officially announce though!
These are all so cute! I would like to do a pic of LO reading a big brother book but I'm not great at photos and my LO hates posing! So I'm not too sure yet!
I was planning a big 22nd birthday as I was pregnant for my 21st. Therefore when I found out I felt obliged to let people know beforehand as a lot of my friends who were intending on celebrating with me do not have kids and were planning a big night. I didn't want to have to dodge questions on why I wasn't drinking so I just made this announcement 2 weeks beforehand on Facebook.
I need advice. We're headed to Disney next weekend and will be at Hollywood Studios where they have a cool Star Wars Launch Bay so I had this shirt made because, well, I'm a nerd and huge SW fan. The plan was to get a pic with some StormTroopers and have a "This is the droid we've been looking for" sign. Will non-geeks get the shirt?

I hadn't watched Stars Wars up until a year ago. I would have gotten what you were saying even if I wouldn't get the joke. It's a really cute idea!

I agree with the PP. full disclosure, I'm s SW fan, however I agree that the shirt is pretty clear cut. The non-nerds might not get the storm trooper sign, but who cares - especially since they're getting the take-home message that there's a LO on the way? It's awesome!
I kept putting off creating an announcement this time because I'm a graphic designer by day and my announcement for DD came out awesome so I couldn't slack on this one. I finally put it together today, and now I'm really excited to use it!

Sorry, I don't really get it. But if most of your friends are SW fans then it probably wont be an issue. I would say just make the caption super clear for those of us that are a little slower :-)
Ok so this was my expectation (thanks Pinterest)... heres what actually happened... I think it's still cute just different than I had planned... But hey that's motherhood right?!
ps now y'all know what I look like... Well at least the side of my face LOL!
One of several pics we put in a collage and posted on social media. We took them on our vacation in Hawaii last week. We didn't find out it's a girl until Monday after we got back, otherwise we would have bought girly sandals.

4 years ago today was our first date. I knew before the first beer was done that I needed to see you again. Not want, but need. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to find my better half, partner in crime, and best friend. I love you, forever and always.
It seems to have become our tradition that each calendar year to upgrade our job titles, so it's only fitting that we continue the trend for 2016. Promotions kick in on November 2nd.
These are all super cute. We are waiting until Memorial Day weekend to announce the pregnancy and sex at the same time at our picnic. This may cause actual heart attacks. I will be past all my milestones and as far as DH's family is concerned we weren't trying. And we're 40 so I'm sure there will be some side eyes there. Lol.
We're waiting as long as possible, but probably also memorial day weekend since I'm sure I'll be showing then!
These are all really cute announcements! My son will be wearing a "promoted to big brother" onesie under a button up shirt for us to unbutton and reveal!
We are spilling the beans… Baby P is brewing until November 2016. This was our Facebook announcement because you know its not "official" until its on Facebook lol. I am a coffee/starbucks addict so this idea was fitting for us
we really struggled with announcing because we have a horrible history of late term loss. Then with this pregnancy, we lost a twin around 8 weeks, so then I was even more nervous... However, we are working with amazing doctors and had a great ultrasound last week and were given the clear to "relax" by our team. So I mustered up the strength and posted to the world.
Since I have a history of placental abruptions, I will be induced Halloween week, so we went with that.
The caption was "Halloween is the new Mother's Day"

You could also see if a bakery could decorate your birthday cake with a stork or positive test stick...
