Re: Fit Moms Check-in 5.2.16
Noticing any changes/modifications? I feel a lot slower when I walk, especially to start with. Trying to incorporate walking at night and during the work day to get out of my chair.
GTKY: Any new goals emerged now that we're past the halfway mark and sprinting like turtles to the finish? To do any sort of movement that helps this baby not be breech and continuing to keep my muscle strength up so if I do get a VBAC, I feel strong for it.
Actually been going really well the past few weeks. I've been running about 3-4 days per week and walking some as well. I actually even did yoga once this past week. I really need to get into the habit of yoga...
Noticing any changes/modifications?
Not really when running. Yoga was pretty funny since my video isn't "prenatal" and the bump was definitely in the way for a few moves. Otherwise I'm pretty much paying attention to my body and slowing down when I need to!
GTKY: Any new goals emerged now that we're past the halfway mark and sprinting like turtles to the finish?
I want to hit 300 miles ran while pregnant. I'm currently at 123, but have been doing so much better these last few weeks. I guess we'll see, summers knocking on the door and Texas is freakin hot...
Noticing any changes/modifications? I'm out of breathe really easy, and pretty sure I've lost most of my muscle mass lol so I'm much weaker. But it's ok, I've heard muscle memory is real!
GTKY: Any new goals emerged now that we're past the halfway mark and sprinting like turtles to the finish? Just to keep staying active, I want to have strength for labor and pushing! My goal of being able to still do pull ups in the 3rs trimester is out the window because it feels like my abs are going to rip while doing them now.. So I quit!
I hadn't worked out last week. The last run I did was glorious and wonderful and then I stopped running and walked into the house and passed out.... it was very scary... this is something thats normal for me prepregnancy but it really scares me while pregnant and it may have scared me away from running again... my husband wasn't home and he was at the pool so I couldn't even reach him when I called... so then I avoided working out until I spoke with my doula and she told me to incorporate yoga or walking... and then I did yoga after my meeting with her and it kicked my ass... definitely feeling the week I took off and realized how important it is for me to stay active. I need to keep going for myself and my baby... I miss running and it kind of depresses me.
Noticing any changes/ modifications? I find running to be a little too difficult but the other stuff is fine... I just need to be consistent
GTKY: Any new goals emerged now that we're past the halfway mark and Sprinting like turtles to the finish? I just want to stay active and eat well. I became kind of depressed and unmotivated until I talked to my doula and realized I need an attitude adjustment. I need to just buckle down... I'm not sick.
Noticing any changes/modifications? My running pace has dropped down quite a bit. This could also be a result of the heat I've been running in. And my abs are not liking some of the pilates moves I'm doing, so I am modifying those.
GTKY: Any new goals emerged now that we're past the halfway mark and sprinting like turtles to the finish? Trying to eat better? I've been letting cheat meals take over on the weekends and need to be better about that. I'm going to try and reduce my salt intake to help with the bloating factor. I didn't have much of an issue with swelling with my first pregnancy, but I'm worried the heat and my love for salty things could be problematic.
had to cut back on the ab work, i'm modifying what I can and keeping with what's possible.
The Rowdy Roberts
Noticing any changes/modifications? I've slowed waaaay down on my runs. I'm averaging close to an 11 minute mile, but I'm still going between 3-5 miles, so I'm okay with it. Also, I started getting weird pain in my groin after my runs, almost like I pulled my groin. It would go away after a day but it was still freaking me out. So I'm incorporating more yoga and I got a maternity support belt, even though my bump isn't that big yet. I keep forgetting to wear it though.
GTKY: Any new goals emerged now that we're past the halfway mark and sprinting like turtles to the finish? I just want to keep moving as long as possible. I'm okay with slowing down as long as I keep working out.
Bodyfit by Amy has a bunch of prenatal workouts. I am going to do her pilates one tonight. I did her cardio one last night and I enjoyed it. She has a lot of energy. I am also really digging this prenatal yoga that this one woman does.
Bodyfit by Amy also has a post natal workout series to strengthen your core. I plan on using that once the baby is born ...
Noticing any changes/modifications? At 22 weeks I did have to start modifying ab work and what's called "round back" in my classes. Just noticing that the workout has been getting harder and harder each week : /.
GTKY: Any new goals emerged now that we're past the halfway mark and sprinting like turtles to the finish? No new goals, just want to workout up until my due date!
