Thought I would ask and see how everyone's feeling as we all approach 2nd tri. Hoping a lot of you have symptoms starting to ease up.

Late afternoons are still tough, but mornings are getting a lot better for me this time around. Much better than all day every day nausea. I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow.

I think the morning sickness was easing up but now has been replaced with a stomach bug (DS3,  DD, and DH have it for sure) but I'm not certain if I've got it or if it's just morning sickness. Hopefully I will be noticeably better in a few days.

Oh no @banfrog! A house full of sickos is THE WORST! I hope you can avoid all of them and not get it. And I hope they all feel better really soon.
  • Speshul sick-flake over here...I really haven't had much morning sickness to speak of, just some midday nausea early on the disappeared around 9/10 weeks. Just a whale of bloat and has hanging out over here.

@shevaCC Thanks. DS3 and DD seem to be over the worst of it. DH is feeling pretty miserable.

I'm just so tired. Probably the laziest I've ever been and feel extremely unproductive. And very irritable.
so basically I'm a joy to be around. ;)
  • The bloating has eased up a bit. The nausea kicked in full force at the end of last week. I'm hoping it won't be so bad this week but I won't hold my breath. I am also pretty tired this week. Excited to be almost done with 1st tri!

The nausea has eased up quite a bit, but I am so, so tired all the time.  So tired.  Between my own kids and running an in home daycare, I just do not have the energy.  I want to run away to someplace where everyone will leave me alone.  Luckily it's naptime, so that's keeping me from leaving.

I need to change my response. I thought my fatigue was better, but I'm ready to go to bed at 6:15.
  • I'm on my 10th week. And I feel so miserable. Could'nt get out of bed, can't even go to work. I can't eat anything. Whenever I try to eat, after a few second I came rushing down to the bathroom to vomit. Even when i drink water i'll have to vomit. It is so hard. All I do is cry to my husband. I feel so weak and miserable.
  • Nausea and food aversions definitely way better, so in that way I feel human again and can eat stuff other than bagels again, but I feel like I'm back to feeling more tired and get migraines occasionally that will make me throw up. Still overall feel much better. And my skin seems to finally be clearing up!
  • I'm 10w3d...I feel okay. Only gets bad when I get metformin diarrhea. Been on the cusp of throwing up but haven't yet, thank god. Otherwise I'm alright.
  • I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and I'm still fighting with bouts of morning sickness. It's definitely gotten better but I'm nowhere near 100% yet. Normally by 10 or so I can eat. And when I eat, I EAT.

I haven't had any MS this whole time, still don't but, man... I am sure more tired & fatigued. I thought you were supposed to get more energy nearing and in your second trimester. But I am just exhausted at work. EXHAUSTED.

  • @therealvday me too - like I can't lift my arms and type exhausted
i usually check my work emails at 450am and hop on the 530am conf call but this morning I gave up and rolled into the office at 6am
I'm ready to call it a day soon and might bail early like around 4pm - I've been bailing all week

  • Sooo tired. But when I have energy I have a ton of it. Yesterday when DS was at daycare I cleaned the whole house! And then when I went to pick him up it set in and I was tired again. So so tired.
  • So ...much... nausea..I'm 13 weeks, hoped it would be going away by now but no such luck. My toddler thinks it's hilarious when I'm puking my toenails up.

  • Serious headaches every evening... ive been putting an eye mask on at 8.
  • Hungry all the time. I try to fight it, but...

  • Been to the emeergency room this morning due to mild cramps. And we just found out that I have a urinary track infection. And the bacteria is so high that I have to take some prescription meds. I am feeling awful right now.
  • I am not as tired lately, but I have vomited twice this week (none in previous weeks), have had horrible bloating and constipation, and today I have had bad cramps. When I got up to brush my teeth I got so dizzy I had to sit on the bathroom floor. I went to get juice thinking maybe it was dehydration/low blood sugar and it happened again so SO came to walk me back to our bedroom and when I tried to sit down on the floor I ended up falling. Then I got to the bathroom, puked, and felt better (at least the dizziness). It was definitely the scariest moment of my pregnancy thus far. Let's just say that it's a good thing my lunch plans tomorrow are picking up grandma (retired doctor) and bringing lunch to my mom at work (a hospital) just in case...
  • I started a thyroid supplement this week and I feel like a whole new woman! Seriously, instead of feeling like I was too tired to move my body every second of the day, I now actually feel human once I get going in the morning! However, the fatigue hits full force right around dinner time, but I actually have had hours in the day when I'm not planning my next moment to sleep. I even laid down with DD today and wasn't tired enough to sleep, so I shopped and bumped on my phone while she slept beside me.

Woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible freaking cramp in my right side...like evil gas pains. Went back to sleep and when I woke up,  they were gone.  Otherwise I feel fine.  Trying not to stress out with all of my personal life stuff going wrong atm.

I'm the same! More times than not, I'm bracing the sink willing myself not to throw up otherwise I'll have to brush my teeth again and start the whole process again!

Same here too! My boss said the only nausea she ever got was when brushing her teeth as well. It's such a vicious cycle! I did mention it to my OB and she said try brushing with just water first (although I'm not really sure how that does the trick).
  • When will this end. This is worse than my first kiddo. Ugh. Every time I think I'm good to eat something other than soup or pbj, my body says nope.

  • I just found out I'm pretty anemic.  Might explain the fatigue, heart palpitations, hair falling out, and headaches.  Or I might just be PG. Looking in the mirror, I kinda look bloodless.  Or is that just the pregnancy glow?
But no nausea.  At least I can eat all these steaks and burgers with zero issues.  Yum!

  • Nausea has been worse lately. And I'm having serious food aversions. I can't look at grilled chicken, so I hope that fades soon or this will be a pretty unhealthy pregnancy.
  • I just had first major dizzy spell. I stood up fast and had a head rush and expected it to pass quickly like a normal one. As I kept walking, it got worse and I almost passed out in the middle of the airport. Not fun.

@sunbeam1 I'm not sure if it's an option for you, but cooking in cast iron pans can also help. :)
  • @Roxell Good to know!  I think I have one buried in the kitchen somewhere

  • @ash111916 my hygienist told me the water thing too. Her point was that it would at least scrape some of the crud (and stomach acid if you've been actively puking) off your teeth to try to protect them. I personally found its the taste of toothpaste that's making me gag, so the dentist gave me some kids stuff that tastes like bubblegum and has glitter. So much better. The other thing you could try is a kids sized brush so that it's not as big of an object in your mouth, especially when you're doing the back teeth. And for flossing I switched to the sticks for now for the same reason. It's sucks, but apparently it will pass.

Still pretty crappy. I'm hoping this is my last week of feeling like this (ended at 14 weeks with my last pregnancy) I'm sick of puking and sick of feeling like crap 24/7.

I have a sonic toothbrush and honestly, it's the foam that gets me. I mutter lots of "you can DO this" type sentences. Sometimes the pep talks help, lol. Also, gum is my new best friend.

  • I was starting to feel great last week, less morning nausea and a little more energy.  I had switched over to gummy prenatals to see if nausea was actually from the iron in my original prenatals and it appears it was.

Then I had my appt on friday, and my OB wants me to go back to the iron ones, especially with the extra blood volume and since I'm already low iron/borderline anemic.  So, now I'm back to morning nausea.  The extra B6 hasn't helped yet, and saltines don't do much.

  • I'm 13 weeks and some days and I haven't had MS since about 11 weeks but at some point during a meal, little lady decides we are done eating and I start gagging with bites and getting waves of nausea. Anyone else? My first 2 pregnancies were easy and I never had nausea so these early pregnancy symptoms are new to me.
