November 2016 Moms

M/T/W/Th/F Randoms. Park 'em here.

I try to make the title pop a bit. "Weekly" pops up a lot, visually.

I caved and am letting my son watch the chipmunks movie. He loves it, I have regrets. Jason Lee is just so terrible. It's like he's trying to be Bruce Campbell campy lovable and coming off creepy overexcited uncle.

@HomeyDontPlayThat I love Bruce Campbell! Ha ha, I totally just focused on the mention of Bruce Campbell in your post. I didn't like the chipmunk movie either and thankfully the kids don't care for it, so the DVD might get conveniently 'lost'.

its the worst! I just had a snack at 9:30 and my stomach is growling like I haven't eaten all morning :(

  • @NavyBride93 DH and I both work 24 hour shifts and though we miss each other a lot...when the bed is mine...oh heavenly!!!
  • @shallowseas totally me too. I literally just told my mom that yesterday - I feel like a newborn that has to eat every 2 hours or I feel sick.

Exactly! I love my husband dearly and miss him when he's gone, but I sleep so much better by myself. He snores horribly  (deviated septum) and tries to encroach on me in his sleep and I am a freaking heater when I sleep so I really am not a fan of contact. I do love him though! Lol

Have you been watching Ash vs. Evil Dead on Starz?! I freaking love it, I was so against it at first but they are doing a great job I thought. Whatcha think?

@HomeyDontPlayThat No. :( I want to so bad. Only have net and DH won't spring for netflicks, or hulu or anything like that. I might have to work on him though. He proposed to me while we were watching Evil Dead 2. lol

This is my situation! My husband has rotating shifts, and I know it hurts his feelings but I get the BEST sleep when he works nights.
  • @BmcD2016 well now you know you're not alone!

I'm a pretty committed cuddler, but DH has been on nights for the last 2 years and I am now totally used to falling asleep alone and having our whole bed to myself! So lovely! I typically let our 3 year old sleep with me one night a week and she's actually a better snuggler than DH anyways - she doesn't steal the covers as much as he does! ;)

  • @NavyBride93 @NatashaSprout oh I hear you! We upgraded to a King a few years back. I'm telling you, I love him more now.
@grannysmith912 come over to the dark side of hairy mama! I'm telling you it's so much better. I am so not the typical hairy girl. I wear full make up everyday and I'm into looking good. But I have no energy for that bs. Hubs thinks it's totally hot now. I do shave my legs though. So I guess I'm not completely hard core.

My my son has been napping a bit longer these days and I'm loving it. I just slept for 1 1/2 hrs and he is still going. I'm hoping for a 3 HR over here so I can re watch got.
  • And he's up...
    Spoke too soon!
  • I am so irritable I don't know how I'm going to make it through the next 6 weeks of school. This year can't be over soon enough and to make it worse, it's my last year teaching before I go to work part-time with DH at his family business so time is moving even slower.

Also, I try my hardest not to shave my legs. My legs are usually dry and being pregnant, they've gotten even worse. Shaving my legs irritates them even more and I scratch my legs until they're raw. I need to get better at moisturizing :(

DD is sick, I feel like shit and it's rainy. It's a curious George on the couch day.

DH wants to replace our sleep number bed with a water bed. I'm all about replacing the sleep number because I hate it but I'm not too sure about a water bed. Why can't we just have a regular pillow top?

I'm just being a psycho. Just in my dream.

@roxell, we got a king-sized memory foam mattress from Amazon 2 years ago for ~$400. Their normal free delivery and everything. I convinced my DH to try it out since all the beds we checked out in stores were $1K+ so if this bed lasted even 4 years we would be in decent shape. 2 years in and it's one of my best Amazon purchases.

I cannot recommend Tuft & Needle enough. I love my mattress so much that you would think I work for them (I don't for the record). DH and I could never agree on any mattress - I like softer, he likes firmer, I run warm, he runs cold, etc. - but this mattress is some miracle that is perfect for both of us. Also, you get to try it for 100 nights and if you don't want it, they'll come pick it up and you get a full refund. Really there is no downside.

@shevaCC I would Love a memory foam. We bought one for our DD and I think it's the best! My DH sweats so much I just can't see us getting one for ourselves though. I totally plan on getting our next bed from Amazon though, I love Amazon!

@jrussell16 I have never heard of a tuft & needle bed, I will have to look into it.

Also look into Casper. We love ours so much we bought a second for the guest bedroom. My husband is a space heater, but the  materials they use for the foam are different than most other foam mattresses. We haven't had any issue with heat, even though I'm running hot now, too. We've had ours for nearly two years and it's awesome.

ETA: they do a one-month trial (or maybe 100 days? Something good.) and will come get it if it doesn't work for you.

Totally excited to see people outside of Phoenix talking about Tuft & Needle!  Such a great company with a quality product trying to do the right thing.

Just in the dream. I'm being a freakshow about the sex. I'm convinced it's a girl, then the dream happened.

So our NT scan went beautifully! I'm so pumped. Everything looks perfect, right on track. Baby was wiggling  around, stretched an arm out and curled their wrist. Tech said they were long limbed like their Mom and Dad :-D
DS was the same. Did my Progenity bloodwork, should know results in 1-2 weeks.

On a side note, I felt the baby move last night and had a heart attack over it. I didn't even second guess it because it felt exactly like it did with my son. I lucked out with a posterior placenta last time, confirmed today that it's posterior again, so I'm super happy I'm not insane. I felt them again this morning when I was Bumping, made me laugh. I missed the sensation so much, it's making me connect with the baby a lot more now. Before I just mentally glared at them for making me so sick. Glad that noise is over but it's strange to be at this point already!

I totally agree with all the Casper and tuft and needle comments. We actually went with a Leesa but it's along the same lines. Go to sleepopolis.com it's a great mattress review site and really breaks down the whole mattress buying process.

On a whole different note I got a tube in my ear today and I can hear!!! Holy amazingness. Just traffic sounds soooo loud. Has anyone gotten a tube while being an adult?! I didn't even know it was a thing until recently.
  • We went to Ikea today for part hangers. Only pant hangers. We came out with those as well as a picture to bang in the baby room and other itty-bitty things. Never fails.

Also...shaved my legs this morning so I could wear a shorter skirt and I swear I lost at least a couple pounds. Chewbacca's half sister here, I swear.
