Re: TGIF

  • Thanks ladies! Definitely was a great surprise and it's so nice to have these few days together to catch up a little on the past two months that he's been gone.

  • @ncm0328 YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! I am so freaking happy for you!!!!
  • I'm going to work on making a couple changing pad covers- because I have the fabric and need at least one more. And going to my friends house to give her bobbins that don't work with my sewing machine in exchange for fun ribbon for pacifier clips- just waiting for the clip parts to arrive

  • @ncm0328 I got a bit teary eyed for you! But happy tears. Such awesome news. Enjoy the time with DH until baby comes.
  • @Charissadeats add me to the list of people jealous you get to see Civil War! My only chance of seeing it will be if LO goes nearly a week past his due date.

I have no idea why we get it earlier - so strange. Sorry ladies. If it's any consolation, you get to meet your LOs earlier than me, of which I am insanely jealous

DH keeps reminding me I need to make it until after the movie as he bought tickets for this week and is hoping not to miss it.

@ncm0328 I'm sooooo excited for you! Congrats and enjoy this time!!!

@doozer1345 and @charissdeats I'm looking for some good horror/thriller books. Any suggestions?

This weekend I'm planning on doing a deep-ish cleaning of the house, getting my car fixed and cleaned, and doing a tiny bit of shopping. I'm going to try to do a nice balance of working and relaxing. Crossing my fingers that this is the last weekend baby free.

Like PP, I'm also petrified of my water breaking in public, specifically at work, so this would be a good weekend to go into labor.
  • @MsIan I really enjoyed all of Gillian Flyn's book. I am recommending them to just about everyone at the moment. But make sure you put time aside, as I was not able to put them down. I am also a sucker for Stephen King, so The Shining, Green Mile, etc. I am about a third into 'Salem's Lot, so can't really tell you if it's good, although it seems it will be. Also some of his newer stuff, Mr Mercedes and Finder's Keepers. Girl on a Train was okay also (although not as good), but still enjoyable.

My brain won't allow me to think about more than those at this moment. If I think of something I will let you know.

But also very curious at what @doozer1345 has to say, she is always on point.

@Charissadeats I've read Gone Girl by Flynn. SO good! I just bought Girl on a Train so maybe I'll give that a try next. After Gone Girl I needed something fluffy, so I'm reading Me Before You. After that I'll make the switch back.

I need more fluffy stuff. I love Marian Keyes, but I've read everything she's written. Have you any suggestions?

Give Liane Moriarty a shot. Her books are pretty well written and a bit fluffy.
I wish I have the concentration to read. For the past month or so I can only get a chapter of a book in before I ADD and need to do something else.

I like Lauren Weisberger--she wrote the Devil Wears Prada and a bunch of other cute books. Emily Griffin (Something Borrowed; Something Blue; and others). Me Before You is going to be a movie this year and it's SO adorable right now. Boy meets girl with a twist. Check out the trailer.

I got all my deep cleaning done with the huge help from DH so we went to see Mother's Day. Movie was alright, but I don't know if it's hormones or the fact that I have one daughter already and am having another but I bawled my eyes out half of the movie.
  • I woke up with the overwhelming urge to deep clean the bathrooms - walls, floors, etc. Maybe the intense nesting means baby is coming soon... (please come soon, baby)

I had this today too. Cleaned the bathrooms, finished laundry, and cleaned up around the house. DH also just finished the floor in the nursery so furniture is going in soon and then I can organize that. I really hope this is a good sign. Lol.
