Distraction post!!

This is for those who may need a distraction from all this fertility stuff. Notice I said fertility and not infertility. :-) if you are in TWW or just waiting or waiting for any kind of appointment to come, post here anything not fertility related. Let's take a break just for a second. :-)
so what is everyone up to this weekend?? Can't wait to hear about everyone's fun plans!!

I could use this! Starting the TWW Sunday.... currently waiting for UPS to deliver my Ovidrel shot. (Literally on the porch watching for the truck, ha!)

Anyway, I just got a mani/pedi to kick off the weekend, getting a haircut and highlights tomorrow, and basically just doing yard work for the weekend. Nothing super exciting but that is good sometimes!

I am going to yoga tomorrow (if I get home from therapy in time) and then probably shopping a bit with the DH, and playing video games! And sleeeeeeep if I can.

Well i do need a distraction since beta is Thursday. Saturday we have a BBQ with our friends. Sunday we are cleaning out boat. Well the DH is I'm watching since I need to keep activity to a minimum dr said. We are going to try to sell our boat and hopefully get a new one so it needs to look clean otherwise I will still be the first mate which may not agree with my body if I'm pregnant.

@dragonfaerie I'm so jealous you're going to yoga. My doctor banned me from yoga and all of my exercising except walking. I haven't exercised in three weeks and it's driving me crazy.
@ultratomato good luck with the boat sale. Let us know what happens.

@Drove2u That stinks! I'll get banned after the transfer as well, so I'm doing as much as I can, while I can.

I SO need a manicure. I'm working on shutting down my office over the next week or so, and then I am treating myself. Packing boxes and going through papers is murder on your hands.

@lizziej13 mani pedi sounds really nice. We haven't stArted our yard work duties. We haven't had that great of weather.

I forgot to say my plans. Lol. Left early this morning for my parents summer house in the Catskill mountains. And since they just got wifi here I was able to work from here which is awesome! Will maybe go for a hike tomorrow. Just some R&r and lots of cooking.

@LizzieJ13 @Drove2u We want to start our yard work too! Everytime I think we might get to start planting, it snows here AGAIN like it has been doing all day.... Our fourth wedding anniversary is next month, and number 4's traditional gift is fruit and flowers so we are going to just landscape around our house a bit as a mutual gift to each other.

@dragonfaerie omg snow? Yikes! I still take the hanging/container plants in at night but the grass (and weeds) seem to be growing a lot. My husband seems to be allergic to everything that grows in the yard so I think I'll be on weed duty tomorrow.

It sounds like everybody is going to have such lovely weekends. I'm staying at my parents tonight with our dogs - DH is replacing the fence on our back prop line - so I want them to have a fenced yard to be in. Tmrw night we have dinner with some friends. Sunday I am hoping to be able to get some stuff done around the house. We have already weeded the whole front yard and a bit of the back, so I am hoping to finish that up. And we SO badly need clean laundry! Next week is super busy Yoga on Tuesday (I have to call and see if I can go, the nurse did not say anything about avoiding it). Then we have dr apts, I'm working back stage at a fashion show, have a LuLaRoe party and a few other things all next week. So hopefully the TWW is going to fly by. We are doing a simple Mother's Day weekend this year, hopefully a trip to eastern market and then BBQ at my parents house. Then Beta Day (the 9th)!! I might have to throw something pampering in there!

I just found out that my husband secretly ordered me some gel nail polish! I have the worst time keeping nail polish on my fingernails. I can't even get through the first day without it chipping so I am hoping that the gel nail polish will have better results. Looks like I am going to have an in-home spa night tomorrow! I am going to take a long nap, then soaking my feet in my foot bath my husband got me, then painting my nails. I might convince my husband to watch a cheesy chick flick with me. I am so excited!

I just had an extermination company spray for carpenter ants, spiders, and mosquitoes in the yard. The technician found a baby rabbit under my deck. I had no idea it was there. I threw some celery out there under the deck to see if he/she eats it. I'm so excited!

I'm working on knitting my first pair of socks. These are going to be house socks for DH and the first sock is almost finished! I took a private lesson last Tuesday morning at a local yarn store to learn how to turn the heel properly.

I didn't make it to yoga today sadly, therapy went a little long but I'm glad I went. So DH and I are going to enjoy our day off together. World of Warcraft, going to bake some chocolate chip banana muffins, a bit of laundry.

I'm still pretty new to knitting, but I'm currently working on a pair of fingerless gloves for DH - 1 down, 1 to go. Though if my beta goes well on Friday, I will also be starting a blanket.

AFM today I got a pedicure complete with lavender-scented neck warmer with my mom. It's been a while - I needed some pampering lol.

@PrincessSabert I made a pair of fingerless gloves for DH this past February (first pair I ever made). I've known how to knit for most of my life but only recently started trying to make things that were more complicated. Good for you for tackling gloves! If you don't mind, I would love to know what pattern you're using. The pattern I used was okay, but I didn't love it. These are the ones I made:

@wifeinraleigh28 I got the pattern off etsy, just search "g'kar" and it should come up. They are longer down the arm but you could stop halfway - you start in the middle and work towards the hand, then go back and finish the arm. Let me know if you decide to try them.

Hi ladies! Happy Sunday! I love this thread and I enjoyed reading about all your activities. I'm not in my TWW yet, but will be at this time next weekend. I hope this thread sticks around for a while! This weekend was pretty low key. Just hung out with some friends and going to a family birthday party today. Yesterday I went to the mall to buy some birthday gifts and scored at the Macy's F&F sale. Bought a whole bunch of cute pajamas (I love new pj's). Next weekend we have a friend's birthday and then mohers day is Sunday so we'll have a family bbq with our parents. I've been looking for some good books to read as well (if anyone has any recommendations, I'll gladly take them!) so in the meantime I've been reading the last book of the crossfire series as its a quick read and makes my commute to and from work fly by.

Anyone else a DIY-er?

I'm usually doing at least one DIY project per month (a bit addicted)! This weekend I'm working on a butcher block inspired table top to go over our washer/dryer. Previous projects include a headboard, a sofa table, and some furniture rehabs.

@Tulips29 I'm on Kate Morton kick right now. Mild romance and mystery. Just finished The Lake House which, just as a warning, deals with missing small children and has a subplot dealing with stillbirth, but I love her characters. I'm starting The Forgotten Garden now. Also anything by Liane Moriarty is always fun!

@vssbrm I loved Big Little Lies and pretty much everything else by Liane Moriarty! I haven't read a book in awhile though because I knit whenever I have free time now. I miss it though so I think it's about time to find another book to read.
