Intro. Maybe I belong here? (child mentioned)

I've been on the bump since 2013, when I got pregnant with DS. I was a daily contributor to my bmb and loved the community we formed (only to find out a top reg was a catfish in the end, no joke), but have been away until a couple months ago. DH (35) and I (29) have been TTC #2 for over a year now. I went to an RE and had all the initial tests done. Aside from PCOS, all my equipment checks out and DH's SA was great. After 2 rounds of clomid, however, my RE said he was not comfortable helping me get pregnant due to being over weight. I had weight loss surgery over a year ago (DS was born almost 12 weeks early, and I started gaining weight very quickly while he was in the NICU) and have lost a total of 80lbs. It was very disheartening to hear that my progress is still not good enough to where I can get the help I need to get pregnant again. I am on my 2nd, and last apparently, round of clomid so I guess I have my fx'd for me to respond to this dosage.
 
I tried out the infertility board, but I don't feel I'm in the same boat as I'm not currently waiting for IUI, IVF, or FET. The TTC #2 board is a ghost town, so hopefully I can join in here with you ladies. A little about me: I'm an elementary teacher, I love to read romance novels, I have 3 cats, been married 8 years and live in Texas. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing our experiences/advice.

    Hi, and congratulations on your weight loss!   Generally speaking , most of us on here are trying for #1 and are in the earlier stages of medical treatment... but if you have your own plan to beat infertility you are welcome to join us here. :)     I've been working hard to lose the weight that the fertility meds put on me so I can definitely relate.  Good luck!

    2 Clomid IUI's + 4 injectable IUI's= 5 BFNs and 1 mc

    Welcome @eadams08! I hope your stay is short and that you find support and comfort while here. I also have 3 kitties, I'm kinda obsessed with them ;) Fingers crossed for you this cycle!

    Married June 2012
    TTC #1 since Oct 2014
    Dx: unexplained infertility (+ treated for hypothyroidism)
    March 2016: IUI#1 w/ Clomid, Ovidrel, Progesterone, Estradiol - BFN
    April-May 2016: treatment on hold due to bad thyroid levels, adjusted meds
    June 2016: IUI#2 w/ Clomid, Ovidrel, Progesterone, Estradiol - BFN
    July 2016: on hold again due to thyroid
    July 13th: IVF consult
    August 2016: IUI#3 w/ Femara, Ovidrel, Progresterone - BFN
    Sept/Oct 2016: IVF + ICSI

    Hello there, you are certainly welcome to join us here!  Honestly, I would find a new RE if this one is refusing to treat you after this round due to weight.  Not all REs will be like that!  Though hopefully it won't come to that and you'll get your BFP this cycle :)  I hope your stay here is short and sweet!

    Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014
    IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs
    IVF ER (July 2016) = 7 PGS normal embryos
    FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17
    FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN
    FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20

    Hello and welcome! How did you know their was a catfish on your BMB?
    TTC since May 2015 with domestic partner of 13 years. Me 33 OH 33.  No ovulation or natural menstruation. Normal SA.
    Diagnosed PCOS February 2016
    First cycle 50mg Clomid 5/3/16, O'd CD 19 BFN
    Second cycle 50mg Clomid 6/1/16 O'd CD 18 BFN
    Third cycle Clomid 6/29/16 O'd CD 16 BFP @11dpo!
    EDD April 3 and praying things work out!

    It was revealed by another regular after the catfish (who claimed to be a successful wedding planner in PA with 3 other children and a life partner who cheated on her pregnancy...) "asked her partner to join our board"  and the two posters were too similar. Dug deeper and found out she had used screen shots from a video diary of a pregnant woman in Sweden. It was a big to-do because the catfish even started our birth announcement thread. A lot of regs abandoned the board after everything came to light.

    I was in similar health conditionas you, PCOS, but everything else was great. We were TTC for 2 yrs for our last one, we saw the RE for about 4 months and then stopped for a few reasons. But I was taking Metformin still and FertilAid, and we just conceived without the RE. It took 2 years, but it happened. If you have time, then I would just keep trying. How old are you?

    Hi! Same boat here. Joined this board when I saw how dead the secondary infertility one is!

     I remember hearing about that catfish story on my bmb!

    I'm 29. I was put on metformin last month. My RE said he will check back in with me at the end of June. Hopefully we will have some options.
