DH is calling baby "squish". It's pretty cute. My dinner didn't taste right and he blamed "it on Squish".

Old thread, I know—sorry if it's too far past to revive it! Not sure this counts as a nickname, but I've noticed that whenever H talks about or prays about the baby, he calls it "our lil' beh-bee" in this weird, exaggerated Southern accent. (I mean, he already has a Southern accent, but he sounds like some sort of cartoon character whenever he brings up the "beh-bee.") Not sure why he does it—I don't think he even notices it—but it cracks me up!
So far we haven't told our kids since I'm not ready for all of preschool to know (aka a lot of my mom friends). But we've been calling baby "the pizza" since DH kept jokingly asking me if I was SURE I was pregnant or if I was just eating too much pizza. Or "my parasite" especially lately when I've been feeling so nauseous.
We've been calling this one the little turkey or the little gobbler (and internally I've been thinking of it as the little goblin rather than gobbler) since it's due Thankgiving weekend.
I've also been semi un-creative and just going by ticker fruits. I did get a good chuckle from DH in week 5 when I said to him "Is it slippery out there? I don't want to fall and hurt lil' Johnny Appleseed."

My 9yo SS referred to my belly as the batcave the other day probably because baby was upside down on the ultrasound. Dh and I decided that baby shall henceforth be known as BATBABY. Then DH also called him/her "baby V" because this is our 5th try for a successful pregnancy.
Our first was Guppy followed by jellyfish. #3 never made it far enough to get a nn and #4 was Pez(Spanish for fish) this one hasn't been bestowed with a fish related nn and I'm not sure if one will come up or not.
We've been boring and just referring to it as "the baby" but in my head I've been calling it nugget. I asked DH what he thought would be a good nickname and he is being so lame about it! He wants to call it the name we have picked out for a boy or girl once we learn the sex. So I told him, 'you don't have any kind of name for it until about 20 weeks in? Ooookay...' He says he doesn't see the point of calling it a nickname that we won't be calling it long-term. DH is usually totally fun and creative so this is very unlike him. Whomp whomp.
I go by "baby" and DH goes by "you two" - he saw it in a movie where the guy tells his uncomfortable wife that he wants to stay and sleep next to "you two"
I thought for sure everyone was going to have the same nickname as I've been using. We've been calling him/her Peanut just cause our first u/s was at 8 weeks and it was like a little peanut.
We've started calling the little one "Fox." It works well as a nickname for the boy name we have picked out, and there's a decent chance he/she will come out redheaded.
Oh, and we're also huge X-Files fans, if you hadn't already figured that out.
I was very excited to graduate from embryo to fetus last week at 9 weeks, and after announcing that to my husband, he proclaimed the baby "Cletus." Cletus the fetus. I'd protest but I'm tired.
We've been calling ours the dark lord. And no, we're not crazy satanists or anything. DH kinda looks like Ozzy and one of his band mates made the comment that any child of his would be some kind of dark lord, and it just stuck. I personally think it will be a sweet blond curly haired cherub

We lovingly refer to ours as Zuul (we're Ghostbusters fans). My husband randomly one day at about 5 weeks said "there is no Sarah, only Zuul" and the name stuck

mrs_hoyahoo I just say the 'Blob' since that is what our ultrasound looked like. After out NT scan this week and 'Blob' looks more baby-like, I will probably go with something cuter.
DD was called 'Bean' after what Scotty said to Keenser in Star Trek about 'eating, like a bean'.
