@simcal18 Hmmmm. If you didn't have that trip, I would say just go to the anatomy scan and if you have to go back, oh well. But since you'll be out of the country.....
I honestly don't know what percentage of women they actually have coming back because of inconclusive results. I would discuss it with your doctor and see what they say. Maybe my hospital just doesn't like to be inconvenienced? Maybe their just too busy to be dealing with women coming back?
Definitely talk to your doctor, but I'd also think about what feels right to you. If you feel that an inconclusive result will cause unnecessary stress until you get back and you think you'll feel secure with the other ultrasound that is scheduled, I would wait. If, however, an inconclusive result won't cause you any anxiety and/or you really need to see baby before you get on the plan, keep the appointment.
1. 13+3. I'm calling tomorrow second tri - so over first tri!!
2. Doctor appointment next Wednesday. It's been my first 4 week round between appointments and I'm getting anxious. Sounds like she will do a quick belly check, which will help so much.
3. First Tri is going out with a bang! I was horribly sick, dizzy, achey, all that jazz today. I actually took a half day to sleep it off. Come on second tri, I'm depending on you!
4. all I've got right now is Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I don't watch much tv, I'm usually buried in a book. DD and DH hog the television with their sports and/or Super Why
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? My next appointment next Monday!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had my elective ultrasound on Thursday and found out we're having our third boy. I'm in shock, I really thought this was going to be our chance to have a girl.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite guilty pleasure TV show? How to Get Away With Murder, any and all HGTV shows, I also love rewatching Gilmore Girls and Friends.
@MRSCORKER@PeggyOlsonFTW yeaaa I just don't get it. I won't even get started on the naming issue and opinions because I don't think the BP increase is worth it right now...not sure if how I feel is in any way related to loss because I don't have a pre-loss pregnancy to compare to, or if it might be a first time mom thing, or hormones, or a normal reaction to abnormal behaviors, or a little bit of everything! I generally don't have major parent/in-law issues so this is kinda weird. Either way, I guess I could see if it works to tell myself I'm just happy to have an upcoming baby to get possessive about?
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Being able to feel baby from the outside so that DH can feel him move too.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Gradually becoming less nauseated, and am so excited about this and am so not wanting to somehow jinx myself, because I was nauseated and throwing up every single day until I started zofran at 25 weeks with my first baby.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite guilty pleasure TV show? I don't have time for much tv, so the only thing I'm really watching these days is Call The Midwife. So good, so heart wrenching, so perfect.
Found an outfit...not sure if I like it, plus it'll probably be wrong for the season even with a onesie underneath (although it was 75* in December here sooo)...but just wanted to share
@MRSCORKER I'm so glad I'm not alone on this! My mom and MIL keep calling DD "my baby" and even a year later I still want to punch both of them in the face. One day my hormones won't let me stay quiet anymore and I'm going to say something.
Is anybody else not finding second tri to be nearly as comforting as they thought it would be? I had this idea that once I hit 12 weeks, the vast majority of my worry would go away, but that does not seem to be the case. I still get super nervous about the LO being okay, and the fact that most of my 1st tri symptoms have significantly lessened doesn't help any. It feels like many long weeks before I'll be able to feel kicks or even have a significant baby bump to reassure me. Luckily we had an ultrasound next week so I at least have that to look forward to, but I wish I could relax more and just enjoy the pregnancy.

@simcal18 I have felt a little more relaxed I think from two positive ultrasounds after the point that my mmc happened, but I definitely still have scary moments...especially with increased RLP and cramping/pulled muscle sensations. I still am not feeling movement so I have been really trying to take my mind off my PGAL worries with distractions and my doppler provides a lot of relief on especially tough days, but I know they're not for everyone. Fx that your u/s next week gives you a boost!

Yes!!! I get the cramping/pulling/RLP too and it makes me really nervous. I know it's generally a good thing but still -- I can't wait until those feelings turn into kicks. Thanks for the good ultrasound wishes. I'm lucky in that I have ultrasounds scheduled exactly 3 weeks apart (9/12/15/18 weeks), but I'm noticing a very distinct pattern. The week after the ultrasound I feel AWESOME. The next week I feel fine. And then the third week/week before the next ultrasound I freak out. Hopefully I can find some way to break the cycle a little and feel a bit more reassured!

@simcal18 YES! I have to wait until May 27 for my 20 week ultrasound. Hoping I'm feeling kicks by then. Of course my husband said "it doesn't matter because the second they turn off the ultrasound you start worrying again thinking the baby could have died in the last two seconds" and that's true. That's why I want kicks. On a regular basis. And the more people I tell and the more arrangements I make, the more uncomfortable I get about it.
Lol @simcal18 I just realized I have almost that same pattern, this week is my awesome week because my u/s was Thursday...then it slowly fades and by the time it gets to be about 2 days before the next u/s I am crying a lot (not just my daily pregnancy cry) and freaking the F out, with a little denial scattered between the ups and downs. If you find a way to break it let me know but I'm sure it'll break when we have that built-in reassurance kicking us in the ribs and bladders!
Hey, I kind of feel like I'm hijacking this PGAL update, but this is the first week of my pregnancy I've had the courage to participate on this board. I posted my intro, but here's a brief retelling of my loss. I got pregnant for the 1st time Dec 2015, and after a wonderful pregnancy, I ended up losing my son Graham at 39 weeks due to unexplained placental insufficiency. I was tested for everything under the sun and all came back negative. So, supposedly, it's one of those things that can just randomly happen and it shouldn't repeat itself. This time I will be monitored more closely with my OBGYN and my specialist. I will have weekly ultrasounds and dopplers once I hit 32 weeks. So, here's to the next 25.5 weeks. I wish everyone else the best and good luck because I think most of us know that a loss just feels like really shitty luck. Pregnancy now feels like such a gamble to me now, and it has certainly taught me that life isn't fair, which is why all of us here definitely deserve some happiness and smooth sailing. I look forward to reading everyone's weekly updates.
1. How far along are you? 14 +2
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? My 16 week ultrasound with the specialist. And of course the gender reveal.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Though I feel somewhat less anxious now that I'm in the 2nd trimester, I still catch myself not wanting to believe this pregnancy will have a happy ending. It's like this unrealistic expectation I have for myself even though I don't feel that way about others' pregnancies. I just can't believe it will happen for me.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite guilty pleasure TV show? I've been rewatching OTH and I also can't help but enjoy the Voice.
@ShawnaTS I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. No one should ever have to go through what you have. I hope this is a perfect and uneventful pregnancy and that you have your perfect rainbow baby in October.
