Saving breast milk?

I'm currently still nursing and pumping for my almost 1 yr old, and have a huge freezer stash. I have donated milk and will donate the rest soon (we are working on weaning ). I'm wondering though has anyone ever saved some breast milk for the next child just in case? I'm thinking some of the recent milk I have pumped I could technically save until dec/Jan in deep freeze. Thoughts?

    I'd maybe save a bag or two, but beyond that, seems unnecessary. Did you need to give a bottle in the beginning with your other LO? If not, then saving until Dec/Jan probably won't be necessary. 

    This is coming from the one with 2 full bags of breast milk in our deep freezer from March of 2014. It's basically skim milk and my daughter needed the fat. I can't bring myself to throw it out. I should go toss it...

    I wouldn't bother. The composition will be vastly different in the beginning.

    I always struggle to make enough milk, so I've used a friend's. DD loved it, no problems. Also, if you had to use donor milk the composition would be different, so I don't think it's a big deal. Maybe save a few days worth!

    I would save some! I think it lasts up to a year in a deep freeze.

    I hadn't ever thought about this, great question!
    I would maybe save 1-2 days worth. Just in case you got sick early on/had issues with your milk coming in. That would give you a bit of a buffer before having to supplement. 

    But as for actually saving most of it, I wouldn't. Aside from a huge issue, you probably wouldn't use it, and it might be too late to donate it at that point.

    I would save a little.  I had a friend who pumped colostrum before she delivered.  Her baby had to be forced fluids so she was glad she had it. (mine did too, actually, to make him urinate before we could leave the hospital, but they made us use formula).
    TTC since 2010.
    IF since 2011.
    MTHFR gene, Endo
    Clomid, Letrozole, Gonal-F, Ovidrel, Progesterone.
    14 IUI. 8 Single insemination cycles, 6 doubles.
    2 early losses.
    Oct. 6, 2013- BFP!
