So LO will be 7 months next week and we're still trying to get this crawling thing down!...although he is making a valiant effort! Maybe he's just uncoordinated like his mommy!! And I know crawling isn't technically a milestone and all babies develop at their own pace and all that BS but I still feel like he should be crawling by now! He is sitting up by himself now with minimal tipping over (usually when trying to grab something that's to far away) and he's standing with support or when holding onto something but his method of getting from point A to point B is to just barrel roll across the room! So who's crawling and when did they start? And who's not quite there yet?

Still not quite there yet
Re: Crawling? Or not?
My baby girl can sit very well unassisted--balances and reaches for toys and her feet without toppling. She can also stand holding onto something for a long time without her legs giving out.
But besides shuffling around in circles and scooting backward, doesn't look like she's even close to crawling.
ETA: she's 7.5 months.

He's not sitting very well unassisted, yet, though he does well with a little balancing and support.
I'm honestly hoping he's not full on crawling for a few more months.
My LO just crawled for the first time last night at 7 months 5 days. He has been on all fours rocking for at least 3 weeks now, and was scooting backward before that. He's been sitting supported for about a month, and within the last week has learned how to put himself in a sitting position and sit unassisted. The progress he's made in just one week is unbelievable!
Try not to compare your baby to all other babies ... they'll hit those milestones when they're ready! In the meantime, we've found that letting our LO play in just his diaper (no clothes) every night has definitely helped with his physical skills as he feels more freedom to move. He doesn't even attempt to crawl when his pants are on, but once you take those pants off, he's on the move!
BUT! While he is racing ahead rapidly with physical development, he has been taking his time in other areas. For example - while I have seen many videos of babies mimicking sounds at this age, he is content to just make his own, mostly vowel sounds and only in the past few days have we had any luck getting him to mimic a consonant sound that we make. He also is just starting to figure out how to pull a cloth off his face and is really not into solid foods.
Babies really do make their own paths and figure out what they are into, which will drive what skills tend to develop first. As always, definitely consult with your pediatrician if you are concerned, but otherwise don't stress about it. Just remember that once your baby is crawling, there is no stopping the little busy bodies!
anyways LO is 6.5 months old and extremely close to crawling. She does a lot of scooting and rocks back and forth on all fours. All that's left is to start moving!
She's just turned 7months and has just learnt to sit on her own. Even though she can't crawl yet..I'm still so proud of her hehe.
