Re: FFFC 4/22

  • I feel terribly that I'm not as pumped up this PG as I was with DS.  It could be anxiety, the small measurement of my U/S on Wednesday or the fact that life keeps me much busier with a 3 year old, but I feel bad about it.  I also worry that it's my body sending me signals that this may not be viable.  I just feel different this time.

@DiFazette I feel the same! This pregnancy wasn't planned, though we were going to start ttc this summer, and I feel guilty because I'm not as excited. I also think having a toddler to take care of keeps me from being excited. With DS I spent so much time researching and planning everything. I don't have the time or energy this time around!

My fffc: I haven't completed any of ds1's baby book. Mom fail! I have to get it done before baby 2 arrives.

    DS1: 12/17/2014
DS2: born sleeping at 26 weeks on 8/8/2016 due to chromosomal deletion
    Pregnant with baby 3 -  EDD 9/14/2017

  • @DiFazette and @blessdtxas - add me to that list. I am having a hard time foreseeing myself having the energy to get through the first year again so soon. I went straight from nursing to weening twice in one month (he weened, then we had some issues so I got my supply going again, and then he weened again) to being pregnant.

I just want my body to be mine again and not be one a hormonal roller coaster and I feel like baby 2 is really going to wear me down. My neighbor just had a second though and it's encouraging to see them totally in love with that tiny little thing.

  • My FFFC is I called in sick today, which I NEVER do. In my defense, I have been really nauseous and battled through it all week. And I have a Dr. appointment.

@DiFazette @slartybartfast @blessdtxas I can definitely understand not being over the moon excited if you still have another little one. DS is 7 and I'm still nervous about transitioning from 1 to 2.

  • My FFFC is that I spent an entire hour freaking out about baby shampoos in Target. So many brands, fragrance free or not, natural or whatever, do I want to spend $20 on California Baby when I can get more bang for my buck with Johnson & Johnson?!?!

After change my mind 10 times, I bought a bottle of Honey Apple Johnson & Johnson. Hmph.
  • Hey all! I pretty new to this board. I am so feeling you on not feeling this pregnancy. I had a miscarriage is August and one in February so I am overly cautious.

My fffc is I am a high school business  teacher, we are ahead of the game this semester so my kids played computer games today because I have NO energy. Plus I got to look at cute baby stuff.

@DiFazette I appreciate the support, and I know you're being kind! Before I got to the store, I had an idea of what I wanted to get, and wasn't too stressed. But then I encountered the fear mongering and it made me freak out. There were two ladies looking at shampoos too, and one grabbed a J&J bottle, and when she left the other lady was making rude comments about how she was exposing her baby to toxins and poisons...and that's when I got really self-conscious. I want to do what's best for baby but I also don't want to pay out the nose (I'm not around babies so I don't know what is worth splurging on?) I think next time I'll get Babyganics, because that's what I wanted originally, fragrance free.

Sigh, I feel embarrassed. But, I'm learning.
  • Fffc 1: I've spent half my workweek looking up make ahead and freeze casseroles and modifying them so DH will eat it. Today I finalized a grocery list and after work we go shopping. The other half of the week has been split between working and googling twin pregnancy even though I am probably only carrying 1. Darn "inklings" about twins though have me researching like crazy.

Fffc 2: I've fallen asleep at work every day this week, either at my desk or on the toilet.

Fffc 3: I'm still playing softball even though my doctor said to quit. Last pregnancy my doctor just said slow down and be careful, no sliding or diving, and play outfield to avoid getting hit with the ball. I'm taking my last doctors advice for now.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @blessdtxas Shutterfly is awesome. I put L's first ~4 months into a pre made layout, put in the words and then ordered it. It was awesome. It doubled as a Christmas present for all the grandparents.

My FFFC: Everyone of my classes today has watched a youtube video on Earth Day inventions, then had a very simple worksheet about Rachel Carson.

This may be more of an UO, but I hate looking at the breast feeding vs formula thread. I have my own opinion on it all (just like everyone), but I know sharing it won't change anyone else's opinion. I feel like it's just a way to either judge others or feel the need to justify your decision, and this board shouldn't be about either of those things.

Weird. I was impressed by how none judgey that thread has gone. Feeding baby is an incredibly complicated thing - even if it's easy to decide what's right for you. I can't imagine why a topic like that wouldn't be discussed at some point here. People, especially FTMs shouldn't be figuring it out in a vacuum. If it annoys you, don't read it, but I think your opinion has more to do with you than that thread

  • Last week I was like, yeah I'm totally not bloated and I'm totally not gaining weight.  And I'll admit I was feeling pretty smug, like I'm going to be that girl who looks super think all through first tri.  This week I'm bloated and eating everything.  And not exercising.  Fail.
  • I absolutely love when the weekend gets here because my husband is home on Saturday and Sunday and my oldest is off school but I am totally wishing the weekend was over all ready because I have my first doctor appointment on Tuesday (I feel alittle guilty about this because Sunday is my husband's birthday too  :#) I just want to go to the doctor and have my exam and have him tell me everything looks good because I had alittle bit of brownish spotting early this morning, ugh. So now, I'm just constantly checking.... Tuesday can't get here quick enough.

A lot of the comments are pro-breast feeding as long as possible because this and that (and I know those positive results are proven) but that makes me feel for those who struggle to EBF that long or who aren't able to. I'll admit I'm sensitive because it was so tough for my SIL and she didn't breast feed that long. And as FTM, I am definitely scared of the struggle.

I'm all about the support part of it and setting goals, but unfortunately I'm not going to remember that in 9 months so hopefully I can find the thread then.

I could avoid it (and do sometimes), but hey that's why it's a confession right. ;-)
  • I'm currently at the mall shopping with my cousin and her 2 kids, and I really don't want to be here. She made me drive because she doesn't like driving in places she doesn't know, and I just feel awful! My stomach is acting up and I'm exhausted. But one of her kids cut their own hair and need to get that fixed. So I'm stuck here until the lady gets back from lunch. So I'm chilling out in the bathroom, wishing I was at home. Ugh, why am I so nice?

be careful!  I was in a rec team before I got pregnant with DD2 and continued playing softball into my 4th month. that's all it took for me to totally mess up my back. I suffered with sacroilitis the rest of my pregnancy and it...was...awful.  I couldn't walk without pain, I was hurting constantly and there was nothing they could do for me.  not saying the same will happen to you, everyone is different and it totally could have been DD2's positioning as well.  but with everything loosening up earlier with pregnancy #2, take a small warning from a BTDT, injuries do not go well with pregnancy.
  • so I pretty much just dropped my FFFC in the holiday baby thread, but here it is:

I think I am having a December baby just to draw attention away from my siblings who are both December babies.  we could have waited another month ;)

i'm not sure I've thought this the whole way through...

My season ends at the end of may. I'll still be in my first trimester. I really have no intention of doing the tournament if we get that far...I already feel guilty. Part of the problem is I play for a team for work, and another team with different work people...so it's hard to quit without a good reason and I don't want work finding out until 13 weeks.

That all sounds pretty horrible! Did something happen or just one day boom?
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • i would feel a little sore the day after but nothing bad. Each week it didn't get any worse, until one day boom.
You know your body better than some stranger on the internet lol. just don't do anything you will regret.
  • I got home from work about 30 minutes before DH and put a pot of water on to boil. And sat on the couch as it boiled so DH could start cooking when he got home. I'm tired and my feet hurt. :(

He's whining about it. Sorry not sorry.

  • I ate fast food today for lunch. It was the only thing that sounded ok. I used to eat sandwiches for lunch but I feel like with the deli meat thing out the options are slim. Anyone have good cold sandwich ideas, btw? And I'm over my work already, too.

  • Ive been super selfish lately lol. Anything pickle, ice cream, bbq, or fruity and it is all mine. Made a huge blender full of smoothie, my poor SO thought i made extra for him. Like umm no, its all mine sorry. And everytime he says his head hurts, im like well im pregnant and blah so shut it hahaha. Im a first time momma so i will milk it as long as possible.
  • I don't want to do anything. This is baby 3 and I am miserable, and showing, and nauseated and I just want to lay in bed or on the couch all day. So not my style. Typically I'm a busy body. I feel like I'm failing my sons and hubby but I just don't care. Except, I do. I feel guilty.
