Working out

okay so I just did my day 1 workout of my 28 day jumpstart and ladies...I am PATHETIC. Dying over here..but I did it. Terrible form and had to skip 1 cause I couldn't do it and had to do girly push ups instead of regular, but I'm proud! IHow is everyone else managing? I've officially gained 24 out of the 27 lbs that I initially lost..

Re: Working out

  • Go you!  I haven't lost a Pound since 4 weeks PP :(.  Dr told me my body type hangs onto weight regardless of how many calories I intake.  My only hope is exercise.  I just haven't found the time or energy yet.  I keep telling myself I'm going to go on my lunch break and then I don't take one :(.  Proud of you!!!

  • Just started Weight Watchers and T-25 on Monday. It's rough, but the first week is always the hardest! My husband is deployed right now and I would LOVE to be back to the size I was when we met by the time he comes home. I don't know if it'll happen (40 lbs in 5 months...we'll see) but it's the long term goal! In the mean time, prepregnancy is 15 lbs away. My two best friends are on board with me, so we're motivating each other and having Will on a schedule goes a long way towards me sticking to a schedule, too. Plus, my husband and I are hoping to try for baby number 2 when he comes home from deployment, so the more weight I lose now, the better. Besides, I really want to look good in those homecoming photos on the pier! Haha.

  • I'm about 10 lbs away. I think it won't come off til I wean. Pretty sure my bod is holding on to every calorie i take in :( good job working out ladies! T25 my life and gave me my best body ever prior to baby so you can def hit your goal @ktewart. And good job starting today @chelseajeanene! Tomorrow you will hurt like a mother effer, and Friday may be even worse! But keep it up, modify it if you have to. But don't take days off cuz it hurts, work thru it and shock your bod. So worth it! Get it ladies!!!!
  • @dmbfan46835 omg I already feel it! My legs are jello when I go down the stairs hahah
  • What exactly is T25 and how do I get it?

It's a workout dvd set by Beachbody. The instructor is the same guy that did insanity. He is amazing!!!  There is an easier alpha side and then once you manage that you switch to beta. And you follow the programs in a certain order for each day to maximize your results. But it's only 25 minutes. It's seriously AMAZING. Total body ass whooping in no time. It's over almost as soon as you start. Highly recommend it!!! I'm 5'11" and got down to 150 lbs of almost pure muscle when I did that and advocare together.
  • Woohoo nice job ladies! I need motivation :( I worked out when I was cleared at 6 weeks pp but then around 10 weeks pp I got a bad cold and was too exhausted to work out, which of course meant that I stopped completely lol. Now I am trying to start back up again...I need to follow your progress on here so it is more motivation for me!

@dmbfan46835, I seriously agree. T25 and Advocare was my magic combo. I was 205 when I moved to Hawaii (I'm 5'9, so it's not outrageous, but I wasn't happy) and that combo got me down to 180 in about three months (then I got pregnant). Highly reccomend it. The goal this time is 160 over 6 months. Big goals, but I'm motivated!

Out of curiosity, do you know if Advocare is safe with breastfeeding?

  • @ktewart I do not think it is:( I have read conflicting info on this so I have steered clear of all of their products thus far, even Spark which I MISS! I cannot wait to do a 24 day challenge and get my shit together, lol!! I wanted to right after we wean but we are thinking of TTC around that time too so I think I may have to forgo all that I until after #2:(
  • @dmbfan46835, ugh, that kills me! I want to do a 24 day challenge, too, and I don't do caffeine (it makes me jittery), so it's killing me, not having Spark, but it sounds like we're in the same boat! We want to try for #2 as soon as my husband comes home from deployment, which is literally days before my son's first birthday (and thus when we would ideally be weaned). Ugh...maybe we'll wean a month early and I'll do a Challenge in the month right before he comes home, just to tone up and everything right before I see him. I always feel so good afterwards!

  • @ktewart that is a great idea! I debated weaning a month early and using my freezer stash to get my body back to myself for a little bit before trying. Took us 3 mos to conceive last time so I guess if I did a challenge at 11 mos or so, I could have some time to get into good shape before #2 destroys my willpower, lol!!
I also feel sooooo incredible after a challenge. And I feel like I eat really well for months afterwards too. It's just the jumpstart you need. My husband is a distributor but just for the discount. You don't have to even sell anything, but you get 25% off your own products.

i think it's amazing that you want to get all hot for your husbands return :)
  • Right across from my gym is a drive thru Panera and everytime I workout I then drive through to get a brownie. They put crack in them. I'm beyond addicted. But at least I'm getting back into workout out lol!!
So happy our Panera doesn't have a drive thru!!! LOL
  • Oh my God, drive through Panera is a thing??? I'd be so screwed...

I can't stop eating sweets. Baked sweets, candy, ice cream. You name it, I eat it! Sometimes when I'm trying to get my daughter to nap in the car I go to drive thru Starbucks just to get a sugar cookie. An effing sugar cookie. No drink. Who goes through a drive thru to get a cookie?!?! No amount of excercising in the world will save me!
  • Wish I had the time to workout. My daughter is so clingy I can't do a thing
  • Not sure why it cut my post off...but I've been wanting to try beachbody 21 day fix. A few girls at my work are doing it and said its amazing. Not sure if it's okay to do that with the shakeology drinks though while breastfeeding.
  • @mpache06 Extreme diets, even without supplements, can mess with your supply. Steady, slow weight loss is better for BFing. You can improve eating habits while BFing, and you can exercise while babywearing, or pushing a stroller. I swear the best exercise I get is trying to leave the house. Sprinting up and down the stairs 10 times to grab 'one more thing' while wearing the baby.

  • NEED TO WORK OUT, UGH..
  • Hardest part for me is that I'm the type of person who HAS to be in the mood to workout!!!! When it hits me, I never have the chance. It sucks. Then by the time nobody needs me, I'm drained and it's not mentally time.
  • I'm doing 21 day fix right now and love it! I'm following the meal plan loosely, I don't want anything to affect my supply.
I really enjoy the workouts, but they're still kicking my butt!
  • @Knottie12323835 are you doing the shakeology shakes as well?! I wondered if it was safe while breastfeeding
  • My legs are crazy sore! All the abdominal workouts suck with my incision so I have to modify those but I'm trying my best

They say abs are made in the kitchen. I would skip ab workouts all together right now because of the incision! When you have a good leg workout, it's a total body workout. Keep up the good work! If I can get my LO to lay in his crib, I will be workout out soon. :)

Get it girl!!!!! Make sure you stay hydrated and eat some protein to feed those new muscles!! And STRETCH!
  • Look. Look at them. I need serious intervention >:)
  • I just started this week! I'm not a big exerciser in general but sometimes I just need to DO something. I don't know what's been off this week but I have not enjoyed being a mom at all, and really needed to snap out of this funk. I started Monday with a short free weight routine and have been alternating that with a quick jog every day since. I've also been eating a ton more but I'm still pumping for my son and haven't had a dip in supply so that's fine for now. When I start to wean after our vacation next week I'll start to be a little more careful about calories.

I sat my LO in his high chair in front of me and he watched me just make a fool of myself lol he got a kick out of it
  • Working out as a mom is no joke. There are days I have to force myself to do it. BUT I have stuck to it since november and am honestly in the best shape of my life thus far. I figured "why not be my most fit after a c section?" It's rough but so worth it. Also, I take advocare and I breastfeed, everything seems fine here!
  • My mom showed up to my house with a pink frosted donut covered in sprinkles aka my favortie kind. She such an enabler lol fast forward a few hours later and it was a twix bar lol needless to say, my diet was ruined today

You can cheat. Small steps. You can't expect to change overnight. Just get your workout in and make better choices tomorrow. You got this!
  • @dmbfan46835 I love your positivity!
  • I manage and play on a slo pitch team and try to go on walks with the dog for at least 30 min a day. I will do lunges while pushing the stroller and other leg exercises in the dog park.

    But my super fit handsome perfect-body-having SO keeps buying us ice cream. It's no fair. ;_;
  • @chelseajeanene you have me motivated to try it now! Would you mind telling where you got it and how much does the whole program cost?

Here to help! I know how hard it is to get motivated and how much it sucks to have warm weather coming and lack the confidence to dress for it. Transformation isn't a future event, it is now. We women should motivate and lift each other up  <3

I had a birthday recently and everyone keeps randomly giving me all sorts of cakes, cookies and cheesecakes! LOL Normally I would never complain about that but it has never happened any other year! Just this year! LOL I am in a wedding this August and I'm trying to get into the best shape of my life! I'm not worried about the number on the scale, I just want to feel confident and strong this summer! I want to tone up and drop some inches in the middle.

My DH is a body builder and fitness freak(in a great way). He has NEVER made me feel less than. He is always buying random goodies because he can eat anything. He's Always telling me how beautiful I am. It's just hard because I feel 'sloppy' right now and just want to be the best version of myself! There is so much pressure on us to bounce right back. Well, I did bounce right back..then over 5 months of no sleep/working out/crap eating I gained about 15 pounds. BOO. I blame stress on a lot of it. But I'm working out now and eating very clean.
  • I really need to get back in shape. I was doing well for awhile but now I have no energy for multiple reasons. But you ladies have me motivated! I have been eating a lot better and noticed a difference. My brother is getting married this summer so I want to be in good shape especially for that!
  • If anyone is interested I follow a fitness blogger who does free challenges, there's a super friendly Instagram group full of lots of mommies. It has helped me to lose 30 lbs- but it's work. No room for being too tired- which is so hard sometimes! But it's worth it. Her name is Lauren gleisberg
