I know it's super early but some of us are getting the genetic tests done at 10 weeks. So I thought I'd start the thread.

I got it drawn on the 7th and I just got the results. After 2 boys we are having a girl. With the morning sickness and hemorrages, we talked about this one being the last so we're very excited.

Getting my blood drawn for the test on Friday! I can't wait to find out! This pregnancy feels different than it did with my daughter (although I know that can mean very little) so my hunch is that it's a boy. DH thinks is a girl and my mom thinks it's a girl as well.

So exciting! I considerd the testing, but since we're having twins, there didn't seem to be much point (testing is $$$ here in Canada because it has to be sent to the US for processing). Still like 10 more weeks till I can find out!

Can I ask which genetic testing you guys did? My doctors office won't do it until 12 weeks minimum.

Panorama, it can be done anytime after 9 weeks

Same. Mine waits until 10.5 weeks but I'm not sure why. 10.5 weeks also seems oddly specific...

@jdebaie, my first 2 pregnancies were very different and resulted in one girl, one boy. This time feels like my first pregnancy so I'm guessing girl, but have a few more weeks until they'll likely order the test. Hope you get your results soon!

We have seriously considered paying for the NIPT (Panorama) because it's more accurate than the IPS and partly because we'd find out the sex sooner. So excited that you found out so soon.

Congrats on your Girl @greencows4812 I can't believe how quickly you got your results...how exciting! I get drawn on the 21st which will be 10w, 5 days. They said the test I'm getting can be done at week 10. I'm hoping to have my results by the end of this month at the latest. Praying for good results health wise. Sex wise we'd like a boy so that we could have 1 of each but obviously would love a little girl just the same

I don't see why we would. You're linking to it and there's a place for people to put sex in the doc. I think that's sufficiently covered in pinned things. (I don't even think this one needs to go in PSA, but *shrug* I don't even really care.)

Pardon my ignorance but by doing the genetic screening you are also able to find out the sex of the baby? Even as early as 9 weeks? Add that as another reason I'd like to do the testing!

Also, is it usually ran by a third party lab like you're mentioning versus being resulted by my doctor's office?

I'm getting my genetic testing done at 13 weeks. We didn't do it with our first one and I had no idea that you could tell the gender by doing that! That's super exciting!
we have one girl now...DH thinks this one is also a girl but everything is telling me it's a boy.

My specific test tested for Trisomy 13, 18, and 21. It also tested the free floating genetic chromosome in the mothers blood. The test I did could be done 10 weeks or later. My blood was drawn at the hospital lab (my ob is out of he hospital) and sent off. My OBs nurse called with the results.

The babies blood mixes with yours. If they look at the DNA and only see X chromosomes (you are XX and the baby is XX), they can deduce that the baby is a girl. If there are any Y chromosomes, it is a boy.
This is why it doesn't work well for fraternal twins unless it is both girls. Any presence of Y chromosome can only tell you at least one is a boy, but that is it. This happened to a friend of mine recently. She was told they were both boys initially and then they called back to say at least one was a boy, but that was all they could say. Turns out she is having one of each.

Mine told me Harmony is best done after 11weeks 1 day. They told me to wait until then too, but I did it at 10 weeks 6 days. She was like, are you sure?!?! I think it has to do with the amount of fetal DNA in the blood. By 10.5 weeks, their tests are sensitive enough to get something. I think Panorama is more sensitive from what I have read in the past.

lurking from October- just a warning sometimes the tests don't work. I did harmony twice and it didn't have enough Dna in my blood but my baby is perfectly fine and I've seen her moving around several
times since then. also they're expensive so if you don't have a medical necessity you may be on the hook for quite a bit of money

Whoa. @takethewholetime I think you need to chill. I just asked if we (as in the majority of the board) wanted it pinned. I know a lot of other BMB do. I personally don't care either way. We only have 3 pinned posts currently, I'm not going around asking for everything to be pinned.

ETA on @mrsdho11 point. Do we want one big thread for sharing your babies sex and have it in the PSA thread or do we want to just let things go and people post their own threads sharing the sex? Or both I guess.

Once people start finding out, it will always be near the front even without pinning. It will be fine either way, but I do want to add that, as someone who uses the app, it would be nice not to have the whole first page pinned.

So since I found out what I'm having I should post it here right??

I had the Panorama screening at 10 weeks and found out on Friday we will be having a little BOY!! Our daughter wanted a sister so bad I almost cried for her, but she seems to be ok with getting a baby brother now

We've been trying to talk names but we don't have a lot of boy names we agree on...so far the list is Zachary, Lucas, Logan, and Levi (I love Levi and it's growing on my husband, so I'm keeping it on the list!)

Our daughter is named Riley so any suggestions are welcome!!

@mrsauby I love Levi, that's on the top of our list too. Haven't talked names too much since we don't find out the sex until July 1.
