  • Same here, apparently she's a little active and they couldn't get clear enough pics of her heart.  I'm going back this week to get those!
  • I had mine today and it went great. The tech got everything she needed in no time. She said it helped that she was head down. Dr said everything looks great, which is such a relief! She tried to get a good shot of her face in 3d for us, but she had both arms in front of her face the whole time. We may have to let her grow a little more and maybe we'll go get a good 3d ultrasound at the boutique.
  • I had my scan yesterday and we are having a baby girl!! They did see a choroid plexus cyst which about gave me a heart attack and they could not get satisfactory pictures of the heart or lower extremities. So next week I am going in for a level 2 ultrasound. I was so disappointed walking out of the office because all we wanted to hear was we were having a healthy baby and then they drop brain cysts on us. After intensive googling I have decided not to worry about it until we can get a better look but it's so difficult not to!
  • I had mine yesterday!! Baby was measuring ahead about a week and weighs 14 ounces :-) He is healthy!! They did say he has dilated ureters but my doctor said it's fairly common and usually always resolves by birth. So hoping that's the case, but he's not worried at all so I'm not either. I'm so relieved :-) they tried to get a 3D of his face but the little stinker covered it up!
  • We had ours. DH said he didn't care if it was a boy or a girl, but he did a little happy dance when it was a boy  :) As far as I could tell or what the radiologist saw everything appeared normal, but we'll get the full report on Monday. He is measuring right on track and we got some great pictures.
  • Had ours today FINALLY! I'm 22w3d today and baby is measuring about a week ahead and weighs an estimated 1lb 3oz. Everything looked great and he was kicking and punching the whole time. Still no pictures of his face, which was really dissapointing since the tech said she'd be sure we'd get one this time :( But just so happy he's doing so well :)

  • We finally had ours yesterday and found out it's a girl! A very healthy girl who is measuring a week ahead. We kind of got a 3D image of her face, but she kept sticking her hands up. We could see her pouting and sticking out her bottom lip. So glad everything is ok. I feel like I can breathe a little easier knowing that she is developing as she should.

  • We got to have ours yesterday also! We found out the baby is healthy and a boy!!! He is measuring 5 days ahead and is at the 82nd percentile. We have to go back for better pics of the heart flow tracks and a couple other things that he wouldn't hold still for.
  • Took my kids to see the baby today and they were excited to see hands, feet, head, etc. baby even had hiccups for them to see.

  • I have to go back in 4 weeks for another US, because baby boy was being stubborn, and they couldn't get a profile pic. Also my amniotic fluid is "on the high side of low" so they will be checking that too. I'm kind of nervous. The doctor told me all I can do is drink plenty of water, but I already drink a ton of water and don't drink soda or anything else anymore.
  • We just had our anatomy scan and everything looks great! She weighs 11 oz. and is measuring exactly 20 weeks. She was super active during the scan and even flipped around at one point. But the doctor said she got everything she needed and she is looking good!
  • We had ours on Friday and everything went great! The ultrasound itself was only about 15 min which seemed short compared to what others on here have said.

We are having a girl! I'm sooooooo excited! She's measuring a few days ahead and weighs 12oz, which is a huge relief as I'm still so small and only have gained 2lbs so far. Because of that I need to go back at 32 and 36 week ultrasounds to track growth. So amazing to see our little girl! ❤️

  • Finally had mine today! We are having a boy and we are thrilled! While we didn't really have a preference, we both kind of thought it was a boy, and we'd already caught ourselves saying he/him sometimes. So it was cool to have it confirmed. And now I can finally shop for all of the cute clothes and stuff! All of the key measurements turned out well. Our baby had his arms and feet up in front of his face, plus I have a large fibroid, so it was a little tough to get all the pictures she needed, and she also had to do a transvaginal ultrasound to see my cervix. We finally got some decent face pics of the baby that way. I will also have to do another ultrasound at 28 weeks to check growth, but that means I get to see him again!

The one crappy thing is that now I'm having some pain. She really had to prod my abdomen and manipulate my uterus to get the pictures, and I feel a little crampy/bruised. Apparently that's normal?
  • We had ours last Wednesday and overall it took about 45 minutes but I didn't have to worry about having a full bladder which was super nice. We are having a baby girl! So thrilled and excited, I felt like it was a boy but I'm happy to be wrong. The tech even took some pictures in 4D and we got to watch her yawn which was adorable. I did learn that I have an anterior placenta which is why I'm only feeling her super low but she's getting stronger so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I feel her more higher up.

  • @Snaps816 congrats on the baby boy!

I felt the same way after the 20 week scan. I have a slightly tilted uterus and baby wasn't being cooperative so the tech pressed hard for over an hour. :( It felt better after about two days.

  • We had our scan last week, saw the baby and remained team green. I'm a little annoyed because I asked how the baby is measuring, our son was always a week ahead and I feel smaller this time, not feeling as much movement, etc. She said she couldn't tell me anything, the doctor would. I thought that was kind of lame since last pregnancy that was not the case. Thankfully I have an appointment in just over a week. I'm just going to assume if something was wrong they would have said so then.
  • Scan 4/6/16. Anyone else have an EIF (echogenic intracardiac focus) on their anatomy scan?

From what I have read, it seems relatively common to see it on the 20 week scan. Among other things, apparently it is a "soft marker" for Downs, but we did not have any other Downs "markers". Just wondering if any other moms had this experience?

Other than that baby was a wiggle worm and measuring a week behind - but all measurements were good - just small. My last pregnancy ended with IUGR, so either I make small babes, or maybe we will experience that again. Oh and we will be blessed with another baby GIRL! I was on team green but husband caved.
  • We had our scan last Friday. Found out we are having a boy! Everything is going well. The ultra sound tech thinks the baby is a week ahead but the doctor didn't conclude. I don't remember the length that was reported but he weighs 13 oz. (Still wondering how they can tell the weight)

I was never told to drink a lot water before the exam but saw in other threads on the Bump that it is a requirement. I drank 25 oz before the exam only to find out they wanted my bladder empty. LOL

I also read that some husbands were not treated well during the scan, and some were not allowed in the room. When we went in the room, they had a nice bench that could fit three people easily. The bench also faced a second ultrasound screen. So my DH got to sit and watch the whole scan.

For those of you who were told you may have Downs markers, I just want to say that I know of others who were told that their child may have downs, either during pregnancy or just after birth. That turned out to be false for all the children. I realize that may not be the case for everyone, but sometimes doctors just have to warn us of possibilities. All you can do right now is take care of yourself and the baby.

I was definitely sore after mine. They are not gentle with that wand!

  • We had ours yesterday but unfortunately this imagining place my OB had us go to didn't allow children so I did it with just me. The U/S tech was very sweet. I had to go in with a full bladder and the tech took the scans she needed with the full bladder than she let me pee. What a relief lol. She kept going on how cute our baby is lol. She said our baby has beautiful full lips and was showing me. So beautiful  from the measurements she was taking she thinks I'm due about Aug.11 with my OB I was told Aug.6.Now for the sex. She was able to go between the legs but there was nothing no what she called a turtle. I couldn't see a penis (like with my two boys) and I didn't see the three lines everyone says you'll see when it's a girl. The tech said she has her money on girl but to for sure get another scan  The suspense is killing me lol. Did anyone else have this problem? Also did yours last about an hour and 30mins?

Also baby had her/his mouth opened lol

had my anatomy scan today and everything looked great!  except the one EIF marker.  i'm not very worried about it since it's the only thing even showing as even slightly 'abnormal.'  oh and we're officially on team blue!  yay!
