@lgem4 mine hasn't even shown that I'm pregnant for a few weeks now. It shows where I had DD but it doesn't show for this baby. I even deleted the due date and put it in again and it still isn't showing.

edit to add: I figured out what it was doing, I was only looking at 1 profile. I've been trying to figure this out for weeks. I'm gonna chalk this up to pregnancy brain.
  • I just got our taxes back from the accountant and we owe an insane amount of money this year  :'( DH changed jobs and started making significantly more, which we thought was wonderful until now, when it doesn't even seem like it's worth it! There go all of our fun summer plans  :s

  • Somebody posted a picture of delicious looking cinnamon rolls on the August Moms Facebook page yesterday.

Needless to say, DH went to the store and got me some cinnamon rolls (and orange juice - another frequent craving of mine) to make for dessert last night. Our kids were pretty pleased. lol

  • @Bookhousegirl I feel your pain. Husbands new job moved us into a higher bracket and we were not planning on that. Obviously I'm thankful for his job; I just wish I would have been more proactive in estimating our taxes.

  • One thing that's annoying is people posting face ultrasound and trying to see if we can guess there is a ULTRASOUND DISCUSSION BOARD grrrr I'M HANGRY!!!!!
  • @LWC1112 yes that's exactly our situation. I always thought that people were exaggerating with the tax bracket thing, but man have I been proven wrong! At least we'll be better prepared for next year.

  • @Bookhousegirl and @LWC1112, my husband and I were thrown into a higher tax bracket by getting married last year (and a few other changes too), but I honestly thought my tax advisor added an extra digit by mistake!!  It's nauseating!
  • Yup @bookhousegirl and @nikkoli98 not fun! I even tried adding $ to an IRA to try and save some but limitations made that not work. We need a financial advisor because this is crazy.

We are in the same situation and it's frustrating. "Congratulations, you got a raise and now a new tax bracket!" I used to have a blah attitude about tax write-offs and now I keep records of everything that can be counted.
  • I have a question. When people ask you how far along you are what do you say? I always say weeks because it's easier than keeping up with months but recently people have wanted to know months. I know that 18-22 weeks is month 5. I will be 23 weeks Wednesday so would you say 5 months or in your 6th month. This is so confusing but my pregnancy brain may be over thinking this.
  • 24w is 6months @Lynnlove28 and I go by weeks 2
  • @Bookhousegirl

I totally feel your pain! I got a significant raise this year by passing my next board certification. It was just barely enough to bump us into the tax bracket. We thought we would get money back like last year to put towards our landscaping. Instead we owe. ughhh! I guess our bare yard will be bare all summer and no patio either.

It just makes me so mad to work so hard, especially since we owe a TON in student loans and yet we have to give the government MORE money! Grrrrrr....

  • @midwestbaby yes! We also owe a crazy amount in student loans, the government just gets all of our money at this point.

@LWC1112 we are sitting down with our accountant next week to try to figure out what we can be doing to prevent some of this. We were thinking an IRA or maybe a tax-sheltered college fund for DS. Hopefully one of them will help us out next year.

I feel you, too. We moved around some investments and got walloped by capital gains. and later this year, I'm starting a new job and we'll be just about doubling our income--glad we've got a tax deduction on the way! ;)

  • @tmk0325 I'm sorry but I busted out laughing when I read that!! That is embarrassing though!

I feel bad for DH. I have absolutely no sex drive and he's been dropping hints for days. No booty for him yet though.
  • @Lynnlove28 Same here.  By this time with my first, I was all about it.  Now, I'm just tired. I really enjoy it when it does happen though!

  • @tmk0325 I laughed too! That is something that would happen to me. Especially recently, the gas has been so crazy!

Same.  DH is all commission now and they don't take out taxes.  I was expecting to pay in but seriously....  :s
  • @tmk0325 oh man! Lol lol lol. I could see this happening to me too and I would do the same thing, pretend it never existed.

@kristynmac Yes! How come no one warns you about the gas? Unfortunately DH thinks this is hilarious and now a free pass for him to let them rip as well. What he doesn't realize is I can't control it!

  • Is anyone else getting the ad of the man with his shirt off with what looks to be some kind of large bump/third nipple situation between his chest? I honestly haven't even looked at what the ad is for, so I apologize if this is some medical condition, but why?! It is not fun to see when I accidentally scroll too far. Just because this website is called "The Bump" doesn't mean I want to see every type of bump that can occur on the human body.

  • @kristynmac I love Pregnant Chicken!

My random: Since pregnancy has given me the palette of a three year old, I need dip for my veggies (which normally I love but have been struggling with). I picked up some Litehouse Opadipity Greek yogurt dip (cucumber dill). This sh!t is the bomb y'all! So good I snarfed down two days' worth of baby carrots and then hid the dip from DH so I could hog it all. Highly recommend!
  • I was lurking on the April 16 board and love their thread "You know you're a mom when..." Being a STM+, I can relate to a lot of those! Also, I don't recommend FTM's reading their "Birth Stories" thread. Some are a little scary even if I have done this before.
  • @jamiesc58 I completely agree on the FTM birth stories thing. I'm a STM and I'll be having a repeat c section and I'm probably more scared this time than last time!
  • Anyone else's clumsy level skyrocketing these days?!

I stubbed my right pinky toe this morning by running into the printer DH kindly put on the floor (due to nursery prep/making space) of our room. It hurt for the whole 30 seconds I was mentally yelling at DH for this pain (even though I did it, I know, logic is strong when pregnant).

Then right as I got out of the shower, I picked up my deodorant only to drop it straight down on my left big toe. Another 30 seconds of mentally yelling at myself and telling baby it's okay, I finally got over it.

Then just now, as I got off the couch, I jammed my left pinky toe yet AGAIN in one day by running into the edge of the coffee table leg.

My pinky toe now has a really fast heartbeat with two big lumps and a broken toenail. I can't even make this shit up! So frustrating!! Am I just sleepy? Tired? I don't know but I need to get it together.
  • @AliKay20 I was scrunching my toes the entire time I was reading that. I feel horrible for you because I think that is the worst pain ever almost! It brings me to my knees, especially when I hit it on the leg of the bed in the dark.

I have been avoiding those posts for that very reason. I think sometimes ignorance really is bliss (to a point). I will be taking a breast feeding and birth class. Beyond that, I'm just gonna go with the flow of the whole birth process. I made the mistake of reading daycare nightmares and that kept me up all week as it is.

  • Decided I'm over with winter and wore a maxi dress today. As I was walking into work, I dropped my lunch which was fine but the ketchup bottle exploded getting me, my dress and the floors. Every step was disgusting since it smeared the ketchup all over me. I had to turn around without even being at work for more than 5 mins to go home, treat my dress and come back wearing boring winter clothes. Boo :(
  • @Lynnlove28 I've been having those same feelings towards my boobs lately.
  • I'm so not into birth stories.  Unless I personally know the person. I especially don't want to hear birth stories right now.
Me neither! It's right up there with hearing about someone else's dreams. It is just not interesting in story form, you had to be there!
  • @Lynnlove28 I am significantly more scared of labor this time because I know what to expect!
im definitely avoiding any birth stories, I don't need to freak myself out any more than I already am.

@AliKay20 I am not usually a clumsy person, but during pregnancy I am a disaster. I have more cuts, burns and bruises than I've had my entire life! It's like I suddenly lose all sense of how to maneuver my body around things.
