I lurked the boards and seems like there were a lot of questions but no conclusions about having a small gestational sac. I had an appt last Thursday and then again yesterday because a metal table fell on me so my Dr. wanted to check me out for my own peace of mind. The baby is measuring right on track but the gestational sac is a little small. She wouldn't give me the details, and only said something because I asked. I asked if it's far behind and she said not significantly, and that it did grow from last week. Dr. Google says my risk of miscarriage is now 80%, and everything I've read online doesn't have the best outcome. Anyone familiar with this?

According to these figures, the risk of miscarriage right after conception is very high, between 22% and 75%. This wide range reflects that different studies have found different rates of miscarriage. My guess is that the stats have such a wide range for these first few weeks of pregnancy, because it is hard to measure pregnancy this early.
