One of my employees is driving me nuts!!! They are intentionally starting late, taking extended breaks and lunches, and doesn't seem to care. I work from home in another state, so my team lead in the office is telling me all of this. And can I write them up? Nope, my boss is like we'll just take away privileges. Yeah, they don't care they are no longer a team lead so that's not working. I am seriously over their BS. I had no patience for it before I was pregnant, so I certainly have even less patience for it now that I am. Ugh. Okay, end rant.

  • Ugh. I just wanted to sleep today. I seriously thought about taking the day off. But I have to save as much of my PTO as possible to shorten the unpaid time of my maternity leave.

So this process sucks, but just make sure their performance reviews reflect this.  It can only go on so long before management decides they don't want to waste their money on someone who isn't performing well.

Guess I'll bitch about my allergies too! Makes sleeping, eating, breathing, pretty much everything harder. Sudafed had been my best friend past allergy seasons, but now it's a no-no. What is everyone taking to help with their symptoms? I'm open to all suggestions!

  • The weather changed here and it is so dry. I feel like I am so freaking dehydrated. I have a hangover headache and a dry mouth no matter how much water I drink. I feel like I got drunk in the desert.
  • My SO goes to the gym before 5am most days, and ever since I got KU I can never go back to sleep once he leaves. Bye bye sleep (forever)...
  • My husband has been off for the last 2 weeks which has been great. But if he has been able to take naps during the day and I'm so freaking exhausted and jealous.
  • DH is great at sharing things that I don't want - eg his runny nose/ cough...

I have another one (how could I forget?!)...

H is the best man for his brothers wedding which is in October. BIL called last night to discuss the bachelor party. H has been asking him for a list of people for a couple of months and ideas of what he wants to do, but BIL hasn't provided one. Anyway, BIL says you're hosting it at your house (meaning my house too) and we're going to party there all day and then people will be spending the night. H was like ahh I don't think so. What do you expect me to do, kick my wife out of the house? BIL, yeah can't she go stay at her parents?

Now, I'm not a snob or a prude or party pooper, but I'm annoyed with BIL. His friends are drop down drunks that always throw up and can't handle their liquor. I know I'll get stuck cleaning up my house, at 7 months pregnant, and then of course worrying about which moron is going to drive home drunk. H is adamant that BILs friends cannot spend the night. This morning BIL emails H and says he is so pist and that H is ruining his entire bachelor party and blah blah blah. Meanwhile I'm over here thinking to myself, you're a 35 year old grown ass man and you're crying over your bachelor party? You should be happy this amazing girl agreed to marry you because you're a pain the ass whiney little biotch.

Are H and I overreacting? Should we not care if BILs friends spend the night and destroy the house? Looking for opinions here ladies. I feel like there are a million things they could do for a bachelor party that don't involve kicking a pregnant lady out of her own house. Get a cabin, go to the casino, stay at a hotel, for the love of god stay at your house BIL!

/rant Thanks for any opinions :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the bachelor even get to decide on details like this? Anyways.

If he can't look into the future and see exactly what your husband is referring to, then he's a jackass. You absolutely would be dealing with what you think you would which is barf everywhere, possible property damage, drunk idiots running rampant. Book a local hotel with a shuttle service or even set up an Uber for the night, that might be a compromise. Good on your husband for sticking up for you, that's so rude to presume.
  • @nordymn89 Oh hell no. There would be no drunk idiots cavorting around my house no matter who asked. That is insanely presumptuous of your BIL. I agree. What a jackass!

  • @nordymn89 you are not overreacting at all. I would be furious!!!!

@homeydontplaythat oh for the love of Pete. That would get on my nerves so fast! Was she like this with her other grandkids as well?
  • @NordyMN89 HELL NO! That ish would not fly. Your BIL is being so selfish. Besides, doesn't the BM plan the party? I know my husband was kidnapped by his groomsmen and deposited back at our house drunk, but unharmed.

I believe so, her daughter is the antithesis of girly and pretty much ignores her whims. It's taken me years to realize why she does that, I never understood her aloofness towards her Mother, now I employ the same methods to get through family events. She is incredibly overbearing and is used to be indulged by her husband and son (my husband)

I can't even with it. I am too alpha to comply. I legitimately cannot stand when women play dumb and coquettish to appear endearing or silly. She does it all the time, I don't get it. She's in her 70s, I assume it's just part of her repertoire at this point. We moved over an hour away from her last summer and it's helped immensely, otherwise she's be guilting DH into dinner at their house twice a week.
  • DS2 got hand foot and mouth disease because a kid from preschool brought it from his daycare. Because of DS2's eczema,  it made the rashing worse. Nobody has got any sleep since he's screamed most of the night. The Dr said  he is one of the worst cases she's seen, but we just have to ride it out.
  • @NordyMN89, I wouldn't let a bunch of drunken guys near my house any day, much less while pregnant. *MAYBE* when I was 22 and lived in an apartment with a bunch of hand-me-downs and mismatched stuff, I would've considered it. But now we have a house that we like. With nice things that we also like. Team you.

@homeydontplaythat, I think I would just give in and tell her she's right. Definitely a girl, lol. That you might be naming her Samantha or Ryan, depending on which type of "girl" she ends up being when she's born. Otherwise, I would tell her you're not finding out the sex until birth. Or...you're not telling her the sex until birth.

Exaaaactly this. If YH needs to pull the pregnancy card, he can. However, my answer to such an absurd idea would be HELL NO, regardless of the state of my uterus. How is this guy 35 yo?

We own a second home in DC that we rent out. Our current renters suck. It's still worth it to keep the house, but being a landlord is not fun.

That's what bothers me about this. She is taking the fun out of it. Like just the news isn't good enough, she has to have more. It's putting stress in the middle of an otherwise happy time. Because she's effing bored, you know? It makes me want to not even tell her. She has to know she's alienating me, therefore making me pause before sharing anything else with her. Cutting off her nose to spite her face kind of thing.
  • @HomeyDontPlayThat, I'm sorry, that sounds frustrating. It sounds like she's coming from a good place, but, not doing herself any favors in annoying you with her crazy. I hope it dies down soon and she can just be excited for you.

Thank you @shevaCC  that's very nice of you. I didn't mean to get all hardcore depressing up in here. I will never endeavor to be that kind of MIL, I just can't see what benefit there is from it. I'm so glad we live further out now. ♥
  • DS3  now has a fever. It's going to be a long week. At least DH is working from home since we decided it would best to quarantine the whole family for a few days.
  • Our jackass neighbors upstairs are always so obnoxiously loud, but today, I don't have a clue what they're doing. It's like they are f***ing tap dancing with cleets or something. For hours. I was trying to take a nap while DS slept but obviously that's not happening.
  • When I seen this post I actually said out loud 'my people' haha.
I have a god damn eye infection or allergy to just one eye. Its swelled right up.
So I can't go to work which is fine with me except I have to go sit in a crowded walk in clinic and wait 3-6 hours for a DR to just write me a drs note. If I don't get the note, I get fired. So that's a good feeling.
Today was supposed to be the day BF was to do his part of our major spring cleaning that he has put off since it was labelled clean up before Christmas.
My co worker is also making me feel guilty about being sick today.
    I think that's all I've got.
Plus side of today, my friend from out of town is here today, and we weren't going to be able to see each other but now we can. And its a beautiful day so I can have our windows open.
  • @pinnerk - I love that you posted something positive in your BF :) It's good to look for the positives, but some days it's hard to do!

@homeydontplaythat - Sorry about the overbearing MIL. She needs to cool her jets for sure. And don't apologize! If we can't bitch to one another it'll build up inside of us and we'll explode one day...probably on our innocent H's or W's :)

Thanks to all the ladies for the bachelor party advice! I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking my BIL is way out of line. Maybe I'll have an update by the WTF post on Wednesday...here's to hoping H's discussion with him goes well!

  • @NordyMN89 I would strongly urge them to rent a house/cabin/hotel for the weekend. VRBO or Air BnB usually have great options and wouldn't they want to get away anyway? I can't believe your BIL would even suggest that knowing you're pregnant. You can't kick someone out of their own home just because you've planned a party for yourself at their house.

My Dog decided at 3:00am he wanted to play (he's never done this before) and was super loud. He proceeded to be overly obnoxious until DH's alarm went off at 5:00am. He has since been sleeping all day. What is wrong with you dog?
  • All 3 boys are sick now. Thinking positively, at least they're sick at the same time and hopefully be through it at the same time. Everyone gets popcicles for the next couple days. The boys are pretty happy about that.

  • My house is a mess with dirty laundry everywhere (DD was sick yesterday and a lot of stuff got puked on) but I am nauseous and I don't want to clean, wash, or fold until tomorrow. DH can't be in a dirty house without cleaning it, so he's running around doing things even though I told him please to leave it. Unfortunately he hasn't done laundry regularly since he was a junior in college (since I moved in with him) and he has no idea which of my things are delicate. I predict I will lose at least two lovely sweaters today.

Also, @NordyMN89your BIL is being a bonkers little diva. Sorry you have to deal with that. In no world would I ever allow a bachelor party to be thrown in my home while I stay at my mothers house (unless it was like a beer and board games thing).

No. Nope.  Not a chance. I'd tell my BIL to kiss my entire pregnant @$$. Seriously, what kind of groomsmen are these that want to hang at a family home for a bachelor party?! I'm assuming there's 4-5 of them? For $25 a pop, they could get a room at the Hampton Inn and party to their hearts desires. For $100 each, they could practically get a high rise suite (in any city except NY or LA).

Tell them no. If you don't, I'm angry and hormonal enough to do it for you.
