Rants/raves/symptoms: nothing new! Just getting bigger everyday & my back hurts terribly by the end of the day. Was actually able to sleep last night though so yay! My dad is recovering well from his surgery. It was a super stressful few days in the hospital but he's home now & in good spirits which is wonderful!! We get the final pathology results on Friday so praying for clear results so we can put this whole ordeal behind us!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? A bunch of the clothes I ordered last week arrived! And I got DH to agree to paint the nursery & move the furniture out this coming weekend
Questions?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I never really had a dream job... I always assumed id work in corporate America like my dad/sisters in some capacity and I do!
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rant: I know sex can be all over the place during pregnancy, but can I just say that 3rd trimester sex is in not sexy in any way, shape or form? I either: A) feel like a stuffed walrus B ) feel like my belly is being uncomfortably squished or C) feel various body parts flopping or moving when they shouldn't be and it's distracting. Ready to have my body back now. Rave: It's 7am, the birds are chirping and it's already 63 degrees outside. Thank you, Minnesota! OB appt this afternoon. I decided that I'm stopping at Bellies to Babies (maternity consignment store) on my way there because I refuse to wear H's tshirts and uncomfortable clothes for the next 2 months. Symptoms: All the usual.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Tearing apart our house. Floors go in this weekend.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Nope. I was a project manager for a software company before getting laid off, and I kind of just "fell into it". It's not what I imagined myself doing, but it's a good stable career. If I end up going back to PM work, I wouldn't mind being in a different industry.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Symptoms: Sore back. I have a knot in the lower right part of my back that seems to be spreading. I have a friend who recently had twins and who swears by the value of a good prenatal massage, so I may try that out in the next week or two. Rave: I love this spring weather where it gets warm in the day and then cools off at night! It's going to be up to 80 degrees today, but we slept with the window open last night and the cold air felt great.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Organizing the nursery, finally buying a dresser for him this week. We also started a 6-week childbirth class last week, so I'm looking forward to that on Wednesday.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I'm a professor, so this is pretty much the job I've been planning at least since I started grad school. I really enjoy it, and I think I'm lucky to be able to have the job I do.
Rants/raves/symptoms: I'm just irritated in general lately. Everything and everyone is annoying. I'm sure I'm a real peach to be around.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing. I've done nothing in weeks. Haven't even painted the room yet.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Nope. I'm a SAHM and I didn't even think I ever wanted kids when I was in school.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
@MsBeachNJ I'm so glad to hear that your dad is improving and in a positive mood! And yipee for new clothes arriving!
@mrsschmity Good for you for getting some clothes. I was trying to get away with one pair of jeans and a few maternity shirts (I work at home so I just wear comfy jammies most days), but finally gave in and am happy that I bought more to wear. And looking forward to seeing your new floors. Exciting step!
Rants: I'm still exhausted from traveling yesterday - i was in the airport for many hours dealing with cancelled flights. And airport food is expensive when you want a lot of it because you are pregnant and hungry!
Raves:My parents sister and I traveled to St. Louis separately yesterday to surprise my dad for his birthday (he knew he and my mom were going, but didn't know my sister and I would be waiting in the hotel lobby). We was so surprise and it was fun to see!
Symptoms: My stomach is getting in the way. I think that I bruised it because I ran into an open drawer in the kitchen (not sure if i
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Signing the contract today for the house that we bought on Saturday! And then I can start planning exactly what the nursery will look like! We also had an appointment with the perinatologist on Friday, and she said that everything looks good and we have a big baby in there.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Same and what I imagined when growing up, no. I thought I would be a teacher. But in college, I decided that I wanted to be a consultant in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and that is what I am doing now.
how far along are you? 31 weeks rants/raves/symptoms : We got some news last Tuesday that my care is being transferred to high risk OB(partial placenta previa )and have been waiting for a call since then...hate this feeling of limbo! And Google doesn't help
@msbeachNJ : Glad your dad is recovering well and hoping for clear results!!
@mrsschmity : I can't believe it's warmer in MN than in VA right now! We'll get hot here soon enough though. Good luck at your OB appt! It's also so much fun when the baby starts to kick during sex (then feel guilty b/c you were probably squishing him thus killing the mood)...
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rant: It's Monday Rave: Only 6 Mondays left! Symptoms: BH, waiting for heartburn to hit, rib/stomach pain, hip pain. A good nights sleep eludes me now.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We're in full nesting mode people! I just want this nursery done. I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Amazon completion discount (you can only use it once) so I've been moving stuff from the BBB registry to the Amazon registry if it's cheaper. Last thing to look into is video monitors. DH put together the dresser and diaper genie over the weekend and we put up the nursery prints. I washed a ton of clothes. Spent a good chunk of change at the JBF event. Got a Boppy with a very new cover (which I washed) for $5! Lots of toys (DH went a little crazy there), books, and clothes. And, breastfeeding class tomorrow evening. Hoping I don't get some floozy that thinks formula is the devil or something.
Questions? How are you organizing the baby clothes? By size or type? What are you hanging? Are you mostly hanging stuff or folding stuff? I'm trying to organize the clothes as efficiently as possible and I'm lost.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? The agency I work for does have people that do what I studied (Criminal Justice w/a concentration in Forensic Crime Scene Investigation - yes it's a real major! ) but that's totally not what I do. I do SharePoint support for the entire agency. Also, definitely not what I imagined myself doing.
Me - 33, DH - 33 Married - May 2014 DH - Low Count/Motility/Morph - Varicocele vein x 2 - surgery (8/11) - success! BFP - 10/10/15, EDD - 6/20/16 - It's a BOY! Rants/raves/symptoms:Rant: Slept like utter crap last night due to constant leg pain that kept making me squirm and turn over..ugh feels like I ran a marathon. I just want to go back to bed..
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Had our baby shower yesterday, had about 10 or 11 people there which wasn't too bad considering the gifts we got. A lot of good things checked of our registry. Felt guilty for leaving when it was over cause my mom and sister went to so much trouble.
Questions? Anyone else completely over work? I'm beyond over it..I just want to stay home and be lazy but also get things done..*sigh* just 6 more weeks..
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Heck no..when I graduated high school I thought I would be attending college but my parents wanted me to get a job first to pretty much experience that and it wasn't until this semester that I even started college for the very first time. I want to be a mom but have a baking/pastry arts degree to open my own bakery one day.
@mrsschmity - I'm just impressed that you're still having sex. I agree with all 3 of those observations. I also feel like H is a saint for putting up with this.
@hockeyfan42 - I'm with you... I'm probably awful to be around, but I don't seem to realize I'm being a b*tch until after I say/do something.
@kbequette08 - I have been "over work" since we decided to move. As much as I want to be done, I don't plan on staring my leave until I go into labor, so 10 more weeks and I need it to go slowly so that I can get everything else done! But yes, I'd rather stay home and do ANYTHING else than show up to work.
How far along are you? 30w4d
Rants/raves/symptoms: Nauseous, crazy headaches, and back/hip pain... so, same as the last 2 weeks. Rant: It's Monday. Work sucks. Rave: Realtor is coming over tonight to start the process of listing our house! I'm not excited about keeping it clean/organized while it's listed, but I'm excited to get this show on the road!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Last shower was this past weekend, so now I just have to return duplicates and we can finish our registry! We put together the stroller and car seat last night and wheeled it around the house. I can't believe we will have a small human to put in it...
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I am a chemical engineer by degree and a Quality Engineer for work... so it's close to what I did in school. It's not quite what I "imagined" myself doing, but I have yet to decide what I want to be when I grow up.
@mrsschmity AMEN to the comment about third trimester sex. @hockeyfan42 everyone and everything seems to easily annoy me too right now. @MrsAlliKat congrats on the house!!
How far along are you? 30w2d
Rants/raves/symptoms:Heartburn- as is usually the case (definite rant), also my daughter appears to be fighting an infection- fever of 102 last night but better after some tylenol. My mother-in-law is with her today and I hope she rallies soon.
Rave- A lovely warm Toronto weekend! Also, I saw the musical If/Then on Saturday night and had a funny experience with Anthony Rapp in a coffee shop before hand. If anyone is a theatre nerd like myself, I can share but I won't bore you all. It was just a very entertaining encounter for a Saturday night.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Waking up at night with stupid anxiety about my kids' long term future (school etc.) that I have nooo control over right now. Driving me nuts!
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?Nope, I never thought I'd be a high school vice principal. Every time I see the sign on my door, I want to giggle. I love it and it suits me so well but the idea of me running a high school, based on my own high school years, is pretty amusing.
Side note- when I compose these updates, using paragraphing/spacing that looks normal to me, all the paragraphs seem to bleed together when I post. So, I have to put extra space between paragraphs to make it look normal to me when I post. If, in fact, it just looks annoyingly long-and-extra-spaced-out to everyone else, please let me know! Never used to be an issue... grumble.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rant: It's Monday Rave: After dreaming about macaroni salad all night, I'm finally enjoying it for breakfast. Symptoms: rolling over in bed is near impossible.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Absolutely not! I started at the company doing what I did in school (marketing/communications), but now I do a mix of marketing and mostly account management. If you asked anyone I went to school with if I would work at an I.T. company, they'd laugh!
@mrsschmity 3rd Trimester sex is awful! At this point, I only do it for DH and because I know it'll be a while afterwards... So romantic to say "just get it over with"
@kbequette08 I'm definitely getting over it. It's so hard to get up in the mornings now. I will say, taking Friday off to clean and get some nesting done and it helped a bit
DH lost his job Friday. He worked in the oil and gas industry so we always knew it was a possibility, but it still stings. We are good for a while and we are looking on the brighter side of this. With his severance that he recieved and that we will have insurance for another 3 months he will try to stay home until after our LO is born. He may never get an opportunity like this again. I'm enjoying having him home during the day so he can help me with DD and the housework.
Symptoms: Yesterday, I put myself in bedrest because I was getting lightheaded and having lots of BH. I don't know if I had overdone it Saturday or if it was something else. Doing much better today.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? The nursery is pretty much done. Crib and bedding is set up. Clothes are washed and in drawers. We are waiting for our rocker to arrive but that's not supposed to be here until the end of my pregnancy.
Questions?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I have my associates from a community college. I mainly studied business and general office studies. I worked as an administrator assistant and in accounting until I became a SAHM almost 3 years ago.
2 angel babies to watch over us- bfp 3/16/13, c/p 3/27/13- bfp 6/27/13, c/p confirmed 7/4/13- We will always carry you in our hearts
@BakerBird525 I'm hanging pretty much all the baby clothes I have. I bought some of those closet dividers off etsy that separate 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months and so forth all the way up to 18 months. Makes things easier to find.
How far along are you? 33 weeks today!
Rants/raves/symptoms:Rant: Until the last two nights I've been able to sleep through the night, but now I'm starting to get that 5am get up to pee necessity. Rave: my H did an awesome job of shoveling out our driveway yesterday (first time I wasn't able to help) so I can actually go to the store today. I've got major cabin fever. Symptoms: peeing all the time, sniffles, etc.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Just packing up our house. My shower is in another couple of weeks so hoping to get a few more things off our registry before I try to take advantage of the completion discount.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Pre-pregnancy, not even close. I was the head of the transactions department for a corporate housing company, which had absolutely zero to do with either my undergrad or masters degrees. I actually quit my job right before I got pregnant and since I've always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, I haven't gotten a new one. So post-pregnancy, yes I'll be doing what I always imagined myself doing!
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rant: It's Monday. Rave: We finally purchased a stroller over the weekend, after months of indecision and flip-flopping. We went with the UPPAbaby vista! Symptoms: BH, general discomfort, and feeling pretty tired.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? The nursery is mostly done! I'm attending a "childbirth without fear" workshop tonight, so I'm hoping that they'll say something magical that will alleviate all of my anxiety about giving birth! I'm planning to pack a hospital bag this week and get started on my EI application (although I can't actually submit until going on mat leave).
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I went to school for law and human rights, but decided after University that I didn't want to pursue law school. Now I work for a non-profit, and absolutely love working in this field. I don't see myself ever moving away from the charitable sector.
Rant:I'm sick, & couldn't go into work today. My throat is so sore & I have this nasty cough that just keeps getting worse. Plus, I've almost completely lost my voice. Brutal. Rave: It's still really beautiful today so maybe I will take my sick ass out to the deck to read & get some sun later on. Symptoms: Heartburn, general aches & pains, peeing constantly.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Trying to get healthy again (that benefits him), & maybe work more on my packing lists for the hospital bags.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?
To an extent, yes. I had hoped to be in the school boards with my own classroom teaching, but it was just becoming too difficult in my area. I was on the supply list for years without any sign of that changing any time soon. So I took a post-graduate course in Autism & Behavioural Science...& now I teach at a private school for children on the spectrum. It's definitely different than a mainstream school.
@bakerbird525 I hung her stuff up with the closet dividers and then when I folded the extra onesies and stuff in her drawers, I put the newborn stuff on top, 0-3 beneath that, etc. I got the nesting bug REALLY bad lol
How far along are you? 33 weeks today! Woo hoo!!
Rants/raves/symptoms: rants: the swelling still. I hate it. Raves: We had our 32 week u/s last week and baby girl is in position and has A LOT of hair...also we got to see her in 3D and her little claymation looking lips were so cute! Symptoms: swelling. Actually I've gotten swelling next to my armpit, I'm going to bring it up with my Dr. I think it may be my lymph nodes but they don't hurt. Anyone else experienced that?
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Questions? Has anyone's dog been acting weird? My pup is 8 years old and she's always been pretty calm and loving but for the last week she's been unusually needy and she keeps trying to climb on the bed with us (she's never been allowed to do that, and she's never been a disobedient dog). I'm positive it has something to do with the baby and maybe I'm letting some hormonal scent out that's making her confused...I read somewhere that dogs can hear the babies heartbeat in the third tri...has anyone else heard this/dealt with this?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Kind of, I was a Theater student and then a social studies ed major. I never thought I'd do marketing/recruitment/admissions for a magnet high school but it was a perfect fit\. I graduated from a magnet program, and though I always thought I'd prefer to teach inner city I really love what I do and I can't imagine doing anything else. I rally love it.
@DeePaddy24 aw so sorry to hear that you're sick! @amidavey06 I'm SO sorry to hear about your husband's job and impressed that you're both able to look on the bright side at a difficult time like that.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Sciatic nerve pain on the left side is kicking my butt!! Makes sleeping more difficult and the last couple of nights in the middle of the night I would get out of bed to pee and not feel like I could shift my weight back and forth from leg to leg because of the pain. Doing stretches and going to get a massage this week to try to ease it up a little. Driving home from KC Kansas right now so sitting in the car for 6 hours might not improve the situation. BUT I got to play with a hilarious 3 year old and a sweet 4 month old all weekend so I think it was worth it.
What are you doing to prepare for baby: Going to a breastfeeding series this week and keeping up with my GD diet. Had a great scan this past Friday and it gave me continued motivation to keep it up. 4 weeks in, I can definitely rock this for another 9 weeks.
GTKY Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Absolutely. Thank goodness I love what I do because I spent 4 years in undergrad, 2 years for a masters, and 4 years towards my PhD (all but dissertation. I quit so I didn't lose my mind) to do this. I am a mental health and substance use counselor. I look forward to work most days, I get excited to see people getting healthier, and I feel like what I do helps makes a positive influence on other peoples lives. Plus, I've gotten to do some pretty cool stuff like work in a jail, teach community members the benefits of Naloxone for opiate overdose, work with people between the ages of 3-70, collaborate with schools, courts, community programs, and families, and teach college courses. I'm broke and will be paying back student loans for the rest of my life but I love this career so much. It's what I've wanted to do since I was a peer counselor in high school and took my first psych course. Although, I truly thought I would take years off of work to be a SAHM and my plan did have to get adjusted for that. Going to try to balance it as best as possible.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rants: Went to the OB on Friday and my blood pressure is creeping up. That along with the swelling is starting to concern my doctor. Initially, she was thinking we could make it to 37 weeks and I could keep working. Now, she's not sure we'll make it that far and she thinks I'm going to eventually have to stop working. Ugh, this sucks!! Luckily, my DH was at the appointment, so he finally heard that he has to stop his side jobs and help me out more. I'm hoping if I just start taking it easy more and cut back on my hours, my blood pressure will be better on Friday. Rave: My DH was home a lot this weekend and was actually able to set some boundaries with the people calling for side jobs! Also had such a fun Paint Night with my aunts and cousins! Symptoms: Lots of swelling, pain, and racing heart.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I kinda feel like my mom is nesting lately! Every time I see her, she has diapers or something else for the babies! This weekend she showed up to Paint Night with a bumbo!
Questions? I've been having a racing heart lately. I brought it up with my OB and she didn't seem too concerned, anyone else experiencing this?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?
Kinda, my degree was in Psychology, Sociology, with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. In school, I had that young person's idealistic idea of changing the world, apparently one drug addict at a time! Drug Court is a good balance for me because I can still help those who want to be helped and I'm still involved in the criminal aspect, which has always been fascinating to me.
@Bakerbird525 I remember having this dilemma with my DS. I hung up all of his shirts, onsies, and one piece outfits. Pants and jammies are folded in the drawers. Also, I hung everything up by size. That made it really easy to know what was going to fit him and when. If you end up packing away bigger sizes, I always kept the next size up, so then when he started out growing some things, he could wear the things that ran small.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rants: Sleeping is getting harder by the day Rave: My sciatic nerve finally went away, I didn't think I could survive that for another 8 weeks so I'm thankful! Symptoms: Other than being insanely tired I'm pretty good. Just uncomfortable
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We finally got some decor on the walls in the nursery. All I have left to do in there is paint his dresser and organize clothes
Questions?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Absolutely not. My degree is Hospitality Admin- I worked at a wedding venue right out of college for a few years, then moved to Catering Manager at a semi pro baseball park and now work at a Physical Therapy office doing accounting and billing. NOT what I had in mind for myself.
Rants/raves/symptoms: rant- my cat is a douchebag and meows all night, so I'm still exhausted. Raves- had our shower yesterday!!! It was so much fun! Symptoms- BH and mild heartburn
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Organizing all the gifts we got, putting them away and returning duplicates.
Questions?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?
Not at all!! I went to culinary school for both my AS and BS. I was in the industry for about 6 years and left because my last boss was an ass and had zero respect for a woman being in a kitchen. Now, I'm an ice skating coach and a seamstress making custom skating dresses
Rants/raves/symptoms: Symptoms: so so tired, and RLP is real. Rants: my 16 month old has decided to be an absolute crazy monster and her naps are all over the place so it does not bode well for when I am dealing with sleep deprivation and a newborn! Raves: We have had amazing weather over the last few days and I have loved it. I'm also so glad we won't be pregnant during sweltering summer months.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Freak out!
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I'm currently a SAHM but am planning to go back to work at the end of this year. Nothing could have prepared me for the last 17 months! Lol. I was unprepared.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Totally overdid it over the weekend at our college reunion, and the travel was really hard on my already bothersome back/pelvis. Trying to take it easy-ish today. DH is starting to "baby" me a little bit lately, he doesn't want me lifting things and I vacillate between thinking it's sweet and finding it annoying.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Just went through all my son's old clothes to see if any were gender neutral enough to use for LO. Bought all the remaining baby bedding from our registry, and am currently trying to figure out the dates for my maternity leave since I will have to take some unpaid time.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Not what I went to school for, but not surprising given my interests (I am in publishing). I was a history major, so that doesn't really prepare you for a whole lot...
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rants: BHs. Wow, they are getting really uncomfortable. I went to the hospital Friday night and they confirmed that my cervix is closed, so I am drinking more water, moving when they happen when I'm sitting, sitting when they happen when I'm moving, but now they're starting to impact my sleep. I got about 3.5/4 hours last night, so I took a sick day. Raves: putting my feet up and resting today, which has been a change from normal. Symptoms: apparently I'm trying to get a six pack under this bump...
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Organizing the items we got from our shower last weekend, writing thank you cards to express our gratitude. It was wonderful to have people celebrate our miracle baby with us!
Questions?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I've known I wanted to be a nurse since I was a little kid. Where I was surprised was the informatics path. I hated the class in school, but the integration between clinical and computers was so interesting to me, so here we are!
Rants/raves/symptoms:Rants: It is Monday & Patriots Day (do other places celebrate this day? I feel like it may just be a Boston thing) and I am at work. Raves: Even though I am a grumpasaurus rex at work it is beautiful outside. Tonight DH & I will take an after-dinner walk to enjoy some of this spring weather. Symptoms: So much pressure down there. I keep joking that he is just going to fall out! But seriously, I am getting pretty uncomfortable.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Prepared childbirth class this Saturday!
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Yes! I got my BA in Psychology, my Master's in Mental Health Counseling and a certification in Substance Abuse Counseling. I currently work with clients who have chronic mental illness and a large part of the population are struggling with substance abuse. I love it! (Even though I don't want to be working today lol).
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rant: I am tired of my boss piling all of these new responsibilities on me to help free her up for new duties due to her promotion. I love to help and be involved but was it necessary to put me on committees and reporting responsibilities when I'm only a few weeks from maternity leave? I can't learn all of this stuff before I go out and then I'll have to relearn it when I get back....its not productive and doesn't give me time to tie up loose ends or delegate tasks that can't wait until I get back. I already tried to help her out by taking a shortened leave and offering to work longer hours until my due date, calm down lady.
Raves: my baby shower was yesterday and I am overwhelmed by everyone's kindness and generosity! Symptoms: Headaches and insomnia!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? my shower was yesterday, so organizing, washing and setting up everything while H works on finishing the hall bathroom.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Yes, but I didn't start here. I was in the medical field/laboratory sciences bc it was the hot thing when I was in college picking a major, but I ALWAYS wanted to be an accountant. After we got married I got sick and was not cleared to try to have children for a few years so my husband was supportive of me using the time in going back to school and making a career change. I couldn't be happier now!
Rants: It is Monday!! Raves: It is beautiful outside and I am working from home today. Symptoms? I second @thycapa insomnia and headaches.
GTKY: I never imagined I would be working in accounting and finance but here I am...
@bakerbird525 Everything is in the drawer and folded by type of clothes. Each age group nb, 0-3 months, and 3-6 has it's own drawer. Makes it easy to pack up to give away after she grows out of them.
This rant all the way .... I keep telling my husband I want to have sex which I do but the logistics are challenging Ugh lol
Rant - so horny yet so not sexy. I was trying to put the moves on DH and got stuck and actually had to think about how to roll myself to get up like a tummy up turtle. My husband giggled and then we had sex for my new max of 2 minutes ....
Rave - getting weird bursts of energy where I feel like my old self and then I promptly need a nap
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Trying to get enough sleep and limit my refined sugar intake - and get through the next 6 weeks of work
I have some hypno apps I want to practice for the birth
Questions?
Nope
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?
I have a degree in business / commerce and I work in corporate sales at an executive level. So yes this is what I went to school for
Rants/raves/symptoms: I'm ready to be done. My hips and back hurt.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I'm almost done with the nursery. I'm trying to finish stocking our freezer with meals.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I have a degree in Psychology. I've been wanting to go back and get my masters. I'm currently not working. I was working in a shelter for women and children. The social service/mental health field is what I've always wanted to do. My husband is military and we had just moved when I found out I was pregnant. I had been looking for a job, but DH and I decided I could quit looking since I was going to quit after DD comes.

@ShawnaG123 Yes I live in MA in one of the marathon route towns and had today off. It's just a Massachusetts holiday due to the Boston Marathon.
How far along are you? 30+2 Rants/raves/symptoms: Rant: I'm ok mostly. I have a lot of work to do before I go on maternity leave, so that's weighing on me. Rave: I had a prenatal massage yesterday and it was awesome. I feel pretty good and it was a beautiful day to watch the marathon. Symptoms: Peeing a lot, BH.What are you doing to prepare for baby? Why is this a question every day- I feel I say the same thing all the time? Childbirth class coming up this weekend, ordered more stuff for the nursery this past weekend.GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?Yup, degree in biochemistry, and I'm a scientist in biotech. Exactly what I wanted to do.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Rant: Had a wasp get stuck in my curly hair today, which freaked me out, made me trip over my flip flops, and fall backwards on the driveway. I'm okay, baby's okay. I'm pretty sure I'll have a nice bruise tomorrow. Wasps are such a holes.
Rave: My OB appointment was awesome today. My last scan pretty much can be summed up in saying that my baby and me are about at normal as normal can get. Its measuring at 50th percentile in everything which was a concern for me because I'm a plus size woman. So, that's good!
Symptoms: BH, back pain, hip pain, I want my lungs back mostly.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? keeping up with my registry, finishing decorating the nursery, and we got a hardly used chicco playard from some friends at church which I was wanting for baby to sleep in next to me. So I'm happy to have another pricey thing off my list!
Questions?
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? I went to school for a few years as an English and literature major for education. But I hated it, and quit. I'm a bank teller now, which I actually really enjoy, for the most part. What I really want is to be a SAHM, but we just can't afford it. Oh well, life goes on.
I have the equivalent of work senioritis as the countdown to maternity leave (@36w) begins! Also, this weekend and today especially my feet are finally starting to swell!!! Probably because it's been heating up into the 80s. Soo annoying, itchy, and uncomfortable feeling like a stuffed sausage below the knees.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Counting the days until our sprinkle in two weeks, so we can figure out what else we need. We saved big stuff from DD, but need some boy things still.
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?
I am a social studies major with a minor in history, and ended up in tech doing PM for a software company. Never where I thought I'd end up, but I love the flexibility and love keeping current on all things tech! My boss offered for me to go remote after I come back from leave!!!
Rants/raves/symptoms: Can someone please explain why we have to pay thousands of dollars for someone to tell us that we are fit to be parents after everything we've done to try to have a family? They need to get all up and personal in our entire life and write a proposal. Then we have to pay thousands more to have another person take that proposal to a court. Then the judge needs to approve that we "qualify" to be parents! If we don't live up to their standards, we can't be parents. What is wrong with this country?!?!?!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Two things....had a shower yesterday with friends and coworkers...16 out of 43 showed up. It was absolutely wonderful though! I will have to post some pics when I get them. Love my people! Also, COMPLETELY freaking out that we have to have a home study and an attorney write up all the documents and reports in less than 10 weeks!
Questions? Can someone talk me down?!
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing? Yes but I always imagined myself as an orthopedic surgeon. That is until I heard the drill on a bone! ICK!

GTKY: My current occupation is SAHM, and it is not what I went to college for, but it was apart of the plan and I have used my English degree to help my hubs with his MA. I've also used my Theater degree, but that was last year when I was directing a community theater. I'm not doing that anymore because 1. We moved away from the community, and 2. I'm focusing on being a SAHM.
Re: Monday Check-In
How far along are you? 30+3
How far along are you?

Rants/raves/symptoms:
Rant: I know sex can be all over the place during pregnancy, but can I just say that 3rd trimester sex is in not sexy in any way, shape or form?
@MsBeachNJ glad to hear that your dad is doing well; will be thinking of you as you get the pathology results back.
@mrsschmity good luck on the floors!
How far along are you? 33+5
How far along are you? 31w2d
@annaf2011 Enjoy the childbirth classes!

Rants: I'm still exhausted from traveling yesterday - i was in the airport for many hours dealing with cancelled flights. And airport food is expensive when you want a lot of it because you are pregnant and hungry!
Raves: My parents sister and I traveled to St.
But in college, I decided that I wanted to be a consultant in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and that is what I am doing now.
rants/raves/symptoms : We got some news last Tuesday that my care is being transferred to high risk OB(partial placenta previa )and have been waiting for a call since then...hate this feeling of limbo!
@MrsAlliKat: Congrats on the house!
How far along are you? 31 weeks today!

How far along are you? 33 weeks 6 days
@hockeyfan42 - I'm with you... I'm probably awful to be around, but I don't seem to realize I'm being a b*tch until after I say/do something.
@MrsAlliKat - Congrats on the house!
@hockeyfan42 everyone and everything seems to easily annoy me too right now.
@MrsAlliKat congrats on the house!!

@MsBeachNJ Happy to hear your dad is doing well!
@mrsschmity 3rd Trimester sex is awful! At this point, I only do it for DH and because I know it'll be a while afterwards... So romantic to say "just get it over with"
@annaf2011 Prenatal massages are totally worth it
@mrsallikat Congrats on the house!
@kbequette08 I'm definitely getting over it. It's so hard to get up in the mornings now. I will say, taking Friday off to clean and get some nesting done and it helped a bit

Rants/raves/symptoms:

How far along are you? 32w3d

Rants/raves/symptoms:
Rant: I'm sick, & couldn't go into work today.

@mrsschmitty No seriously, I'm ready to have my old body and our old sex back. That part of the pregnancy has been hard for us both.
MrsAlliKat Congratulations on the house!

How far along are you? 30 weeks and 5 days
How far along are you? 32+5
How far along are you? 33 weeks today!
@MsBeachNJ great to hear about your dad!
@hockeyfan42 I feel you on being annoyed by everyone... it is Monday and I am irritated by literally everyone I come in contact with lol
@mrsalliekat Woo Hoo HOUSE!! Congrats
@Kballew10 Congrats & good luck on listing the house!
@DeePaddy24 I hope you feel better soon!

Rants/raves/symptoms: Rants: It is Monday & Patriots Day (do other places celebrate this day?
33 weeks today!!!!
Rants/raves/symptoms:
Rant: I am tired of my boss piling all of these new responsibilities on me to help free her up for new duties due to her promotion.
@MrsAlliKat Congrats!! I am so excited for you.
@MrsBeachNJ so glad to heat about your dad.
Ugh lol

Rants/raves/symptoms:

Rants/raves/symptoms:
Rant: I'm ok mostly.
How far along are you? 31+5

Rants/raves/symptoms:
How far along are you? 30w 2d
