I feel like it's twins.

It's not wishful thinking, but I wouldn't be complaining LOL!
What led me to take a test in the first place, was that I was getting cramps, similar to AF but not quite...
And sharp, stabbing pains where my hipbones are... And somehow, I just feel like there's two in there.
I go to the DR Thursday for a med review because I have noctournal epilepsy, (but am not active)
and they will also book my 1st ultrasound.
My real reason to think it is twins is that I'm approximately 5 weeks and am starting to show a little.
Other symptoms include the normal stuff:
-NO morning sickness AT ALL yet.
- peeing constantly
- VERY tired, as in drained- Sleeping all. the. time.
Moms of multiples- What were your symptoms at 5/6 weeks?!

As far as symptoms, that early I only had sore and itchy nipples and mild cramps. I didn't have sickness, excessive peeing, or any of the other supposed early symptoms. Looking back, I suspected twins because I was sure I was feeling implantation cramps in two spots. I have no clue if I was actually feeling that or wistfully making it up, but my instinct was right in this case.
Anyway, not that I want to burst your bubble (because multiples are amazing!), but a huge number of newly pregnant women suspect multiples even though they represent only about 4% of pregnancies. There is just no way to tell until you see the ultrasound.
Just be patient and wait for the u/s before you get too excited about having multiples.
I had typical pregnancy symptoms. I had no clue there were twins in there until my ultrasound.
I'll be honest though my symptoms were pretty reasonable. I was preparing myself for so much worse. I was nauseous but never threw up, super tired, bloated and light headed to name a few. I also had cravings and aversions. I also had significant aches on my left side throughout my whole first trimester starting at 4 weeks. My doctor thinks that's probably where they implanted. It was never cramping, just achy.
We didn't find out it was twins until my 11w5d appt, but I had a feeling only because I woke up a couple times in the middle of the night with dreams and said I just feel like it's twins. I mentioned this to my mom and SO a couple times, but never thought it would be true. We were completely shocked to see two on the ultrasound! I'm 21 weeks along and still in shock most days.
There is a lot to be said about intuition, so I'll be curious to hear if you are having twins or not!
One thing i will say is dont underestimate your gut feeling here. I knew at 4 weeks it was twins, i just had a feeling, an obsession really - researching twins/how to prepare for twins. Even told my husband we were having twins.
Symptoms came on strong at 6 weeks, lots of cramping to the point i thought i was miscarrying so they sent me for an early ultrasound and sure enough 2 babies! Thats also when my severe nausea hit and didnt let up for about 12 weeks.
Do twins run in your family? Have you looked at the list of factors that increase odds of twins?
Keep us posted and let us know if your gut feeling was right. Dont be afraid to push for an early ultrasound.
But, nope. Just one precious baby.

ETA: although, my LO appears to primarily use her left hand. There's a theory about left handed babies.

I knew i was pregnant because of dreams i had & all the vomiting, i only vomit when im preggers.
With my daughter i had a dream i had a girl woth curly hair & sure enough shes a girl with curly hair.
With the twins i had a dream i had twin boys to my left & twin girls to my right & @ the blink of an eye the girls were boys. & i have 7.5month old identical boys.
I didnt feel i was pregnant with twins before i knew but i did know i was pregnant before taking a test. & i did know i was having boys after i found out i was having twins. Yes i depended alot on my pregnancy dreams!

My LMP was March 11, I took a pregnancy test, the day my period was supposed to start and the double lines were super dark. And then I had dreams about things in two - such as adopting a kitten, but had to take two so the one wasn't lonely.
I have had no morning sickness (*knock on wood*), but to have horrible headaches, and pee constantly. I am showing more than I should at only 5 weeks.
I just got my blood results back today and my HCG levels are 6,700. The chart I found showed single pregnancy HCG levels at 36 days (after LMP) were between 700-1800 and multiples were 2,400 to 36,000. I unfortunately have to wait about 2 more weeks until my ultrasound to confirm and I can't wait.
Also - if this is the thread that made you upset enough to post something offensive over on the first trimester board I don't understand why you were upset with people's responses on here . Everyone has been very sweet sharing their thoughts and feedback with you . Your comment about having an easy time getting pregnant and people being jealous of you was completely uncalled for . As someone who has struggled with infertility I would ask that you to please be careful with your words on here . A lot of women have struggled and it is so painful to read someone being careless with their words .
