I was very unapologetically grouchy when I went in for my 1-hour glucose test this morning. I hadn't eaten anything since about 9:00 the night before, so I was already hungry before I got to the hospital. I registered about 8:10 this morning and they left me in the waiting room with candy and soda machines taunting me until 8:50. When the lab tech came to retrieve me, she asked how I was doing this morning, and I just looked at her and said "Starving... I haven't eaten anything this morning because I'm having to do a fasting glucose before this test." I felt better for a short-lived 10-15 minutes after drinking the glucose solution, but that quickly dissolved into 45-50 minutes of "I don't feel so well..." before I was able to get my blood drawn and go get some food. I usually try to be nice when I'm dealing with people, but today... sorry, not sorry.
So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"
I also hate the sweet wines. Muscadine & scuppernong wines are big where I'm from and at a NC wine tasting thing last year I swear to you the lady pouring (I don't believe she was a sommelier) said "This one is a bit sweet, so I like to mix it with Sprite." Say that to yourself in your best Southern drawl and then ponder why someone would ever put fucking SUGAR WATER in their wine to make it LESS sweet. God bless. That's all I've got.
FFFC I am eating my firt jimmy johns, and although it is good, not sure why everyone loses their minds over it. I'd give it a 7/10. I have had much better sandwiches before.
It might be that I'm cheap but I love barefoot wine! Anything sweet and cheap or sparkling is my go to. I just don't like dry or strong tasting alcohol haha

I'm a lover of all white wines. Unfortunately I haven't found a red that I like yet.
As much as I love DD and DH, I'm excited to go out of town for the next two weeks. I'll get to sleep in a bed by myself, won't have to listen to snoring, and can sleep in a little bit (aka not get up before 7 am). Pretty mild FFFC, but that's all I've got right now.

I'm so glad I'm moving back to NC after this baby is born. I actually miss these (with dessert). However......WHO DILUTES WINE?!
@jlmartinez517 I will certainly give them a try. Who knows, maybe some of my taste buds will change after pregnancy! If I'm not a fan, my bff would certainly take the bottle off my hands
@Nerdchild The people at Duplin Winery have seriously questionable advice about how to enjoy their wines. Are you coming to the Charlotte area? I don't love muscadine and scuppernong wines but I LOVE the grapes in other applications. Last year I made a scuppernong simple syrup and used it to make dark and stormys. So good.
I'm such a space cadet sometimes I was in replying to threads on the July 2015 board, yeesh.
Dude....yesterday I called a guy that my car insurance gave me the number to. He already had our paperwork/policy number/etc to fix our windshield, and I just had to call and set up a time him to come to my work and fix it. When I called, and left a message, I used my maiden name. Umm.....what? He called me back today, and I told him my goof, and what my last name actually is, and he said "yeah, I kind of figured when I had paperwork for a Mrs. K, but there was a someone else calling about the exact same thing." I apologized for my hardcore pregnancy brain!
I have a countdown going on my phone for my last work day. Not my due date. Just when I can get the hell out of this place, for the rest of the year!! I cannot wait to say adios to this whole work thing.

Fayetteville for us. Have you ever done them in jelly? I've only ever made concord jelly and muscadine and/or scuppernong jelly sounds amazing.

Oh cool! Well I vote when these babies come we have a beach meetup with @ButterMyBiscuit. I've got the beach covered.
Muscadine jam is my favorite. I also love hull pies, those are one of my fall staples.
DH and I have a batch of wine brewing from last year's grapes from the garden (I have a fairly old, established vine). Our original plan (back before I was pregnant!) was to drink it this Sunday - which is both the anniversary of our first date, and of some bad stuff from DH's deployment, but since I'm out of commission I think now we are going to save it til this LO arrives. We had a sip when we transferred it into jars and holy crap is it dry! I didn't want to over-sweeten it just because I dislike sugary wine so much.
DH says he's going to start making moonshine next.
@elenabrent That sounds fantastic. I've seen enough of the Pacific ocean for the time being, I miss the Atlantic.
@Cosmic+Love I've heard Asheville is gorgeous and green but I've never been. We plan on doing all of the traveling that we never got around to the first time we lived in NC, and the fall in Asheville is on my bucket list.
@erin7264 I'm drooling. What variety of grape is your vine?
@Nerdchild@elenabrent I'm not too great at my NC geography, but if where you're located is anywhere within driving distance to Charlottesville, VA, there are some amazing wineries there! A few good breweries and cideries as well
I baked a cake for my neice's birthday tomorrow. I dropped half of it on the floor. I cut a small slice off the top (the part that landed) and used the rest of the cake anyway.
It annoys me to no end when people smile while biting their tongue. Just..why? It looks stupid.
Hahaha YES. They just look like they are trying way too hard to be cute. I know a girl who does this all. the. time. I just want to tell her how stupid she looks. Like, dude you're in your mid 20's.. stick your dumb ass tongue back behind your teeth.
Yesssss!!! I know a girl who does this AND talks in a baby voice and we all know that's not her voice! She annoys the crap out of me! You're in your 30s, not 5!
I have two: I went thru the body scanner at the airport yesterday because the wait for a pat down was too long and I had to pee.
I had a 1.5 oz "glass" of wine after dinner.
I don't advocate drinking while pregnant, but after the stress of the last few weeks I decided once with so little won't hurt anyone.
No regrets.

@RideNRunMomma lAmen, sister! We have a new wine bar in town that offers 2oz pours. It's been calling to me every time I drive by...which is frequently, lol!

I only used wine in my crab cioppino recipe last night. The recipe calls for 4 cups of broth or water and a cup of wine. 5 cups of wine makes a fantastic cioppino, fyi.
I have said it a million times. The general warnings are for the mass and lay people. However, research is Key to seeing if risk vs benefits is ok.

Sorry to butt in and I am not saying this to be rude, but no research is not key. Your doctor is the way to go. Google searching does not equal a medical licence.
If you already cleared it with your doctor then disregard what I said.
