Any Movement? I am 90% sure that I have felt baby move. On multiple occasions I have felt a tap tap in the pretty much the same area and it is different than gas.. But then I tell myself that I am only 16 weeks with #1 and there is no way that is baby..
Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple A/S scheduled for 5/13 and we will be finding out! I feel like we are late to the party and everyone who is planning on finding out already has
Worst advise that has been given to you to date? I think I am tuning the bad advise out...
Best advise that has been given to you to date? A lot of the advise I am getting is from this board and it is amazing. Many of my friends don't have kids so no advise from them. Now that I'm "out" at work, I'm expecting a lot of input from the many mamas in the office.
Current fears/anxieties? Pretty much all that PP have mentioned already has gone through my mind at some point. I especially get anxious between doctor appointments worrying that something is wrong.
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO? DH (24 soon to be 25) and I (26) met in 2003 through 4-H. We knew of each other, but didn't start hanging out for a couple years. We started dating the summer after my senor year of high school and dated for a year long distance while I was at college. We always talked about marriage and knew that is where we were headed. He proposed in Fall 2009 and we married in July 2012. **TW** We started TTC in September 2015 and got a BFP in December that resulted in an early loss. After the loss we discussed waiting a cycle or two to start trying again, but we were also NTNP and we got a BFP on 1/17! We have two fur pups and are really excited and nervous for this next chapter of our lives!
Any Movement? Yes! Starting at 14 weeks! He is a big wiggle worm!
Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple I did a Sneak Peek and it said Boy. Last night at work were pretty sure we saw boy but he was moving so much that even the OB resident said she was "pretty" sure but he was too wiggly!
Worst advise that has been given to you to date? Ummm. Lol, well I guess it would be from my MIL before I even got pregnant. We were talking about families and I had been pretty vocal about timing our family around my husband's upcoming deployment and she stopped me and said "You know most people don't get pregnant right away right?" I'm glad I responded how I wanted: "Well....I have three nursing degrees so I'm pretty sure of how it works..." Then she told me how disappointed she was when she started trying and it took her a year. THEN I wasn't thinking at all and said "You were probably doing it wrong."
Best advise that has been given to you to date? To be proud of my pregnancy and to enjoy the blessings I have such as taking time to stay at home with the baby.
Current fears/anxieties? My weight gain!
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO?
I didn't have the most comforting childhood and spend most of my time thinking I didn't want to have children. All through my 20's I felt that way. Then I met my husband at a Valentine's Day party. I quickly felt very differently about him, I remember telling a good friend after just three months that I felt this fear of him not feeling the same way because I wanted him to be the father of my children and I've never come across that before. There was just something about him that made me feel that I was supposed to have a family with him. We've been married five years, even though I knew we'd have kids we didn't feel the need to have them right away. We lived in Europe our first three years, then he took 15 month overseas assignment and I came back to the States. About halfway through that tour things just changed overnight and I started telling him it was time for me to start a family. It's so weird how that happens. As soon as we moved back in together we started trying. We had a three month window to try, he deploys in the fall and I didn't want to have the baby while he was gone. We succeeded our third month and our little one will arrive two weeks before he leaves. I'm terrified but also grateful that we were successful. I'm trying to see the silver lining of him being gone....getting to do things the way I want, not having to worry about a crying baby affecting his sleep for work, and being able to watch hours of reality TV without judgement I've overcome worse . I'm a Trauma nurse, a baby can't be much worse than what I do at work, right?
Any Movement? I'm pretty sure baby had the hiccups last night. It was the first time I've felt something different
Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple
We have our ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday to hopefully find out
Worst advise that has been given to you to date? My mom says I can't cut my hair until I'm done nursing. Apparently if I do, my hair will get totally damaged because all the nutrients in my body are going to the baby
Best advise that has been given to you to date? Sleep as much as I can
Current fears/anxieties?
I'm a bit worried that I'm not eating enough. I have a weird relationship with food and have a hard time eating if I'm not hungry.
I'm also worried if baby is a boy because of the circumcision conversation. My husband says we should circumcise because he is but I feel it is unnecessary but he's saying that since I don't have a penis I don't really know
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO?
We met in December 2007/ January 2008 depending on who you ask. We have several mutual friends. I don't remember our first meeting but he does. I remember meeting him in early 2008. We dated for a year, broke up for a year, friends with benefits for about 6 months and then sort of got back together. He proposed in December of 2011, we got married in July 2013 and began TTC in June 2015 with a BFP on nye
@jhems776 I HATE the "sleep now" advice. Yes, I'm aware that I won't sleep much once baby comes. But I'm also aware that sleeping now won't make me feel better then -- it just doesn't work that way, and you making me feel anxious that my body's not letting me sleep now doesn't help!
@humlilly I'm with you on buying used!! I grew up thrifting and shopping consignment, and even into adulthood when I can afford everything new, I still shop that way a lot for various things! For baby it's no different -- if we can get great hand-me-downs, or things from mom swaps, etc, I'd be ecstatic to save tons of money, especially on things that will only be used for short periods of time. Certain things will be new without question, but I like to mix it up

Before being on here I had NO idea you could tear up during delivery or that it was so common. Other tricks like witch hazel pads and taking a stool softener I will definitely listen to!!
Current fears/anxieties?
I feel a little better since I had an ultrasound on Monday and baby is doing well but if I go a little too long without that kind of reassurance and no movement I really start to panic that something is wrong and my baby died. Being pregnant after a loss kind of ruined the bliss for me. I always worry.
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO?
We have been together for almost five years now and got married summer 2014. I am 29 and he is 33. We took four years to conceive, since we both had fertility problems we had to do IVF, we got pregnant last summer after our fresh egg transfer but sadly that ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. We had a frozen embryo transfer on December 15th and this time little bean stayed sticky and here we are now.
35 years old, TTC #1 Dec 28, 2011 PCOS, Hypothyroidism.
First IVF cycle June 5th 2015 --- BFP Miscarriage at 8 weeks
FET December 15th 2015--- BFP! First saw at 6w4d It's a boy!

This is so fun. How many weeks? 17! Any Movement? Little kicks and jabs every now and then, especially after eating and drinking something cold. Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple Not sure yet--we find out next Saturday!!! Worst advise that has been given to you to date? "Stop wearing heels." Not yettt! Best advise that has been given to you to date? "Every pregnancy is different." Current fears/anxieties? Not finding a house in time for Baby! Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO? Sometimes, I stand in the mirror, stare at my bump, and cry tears of happiness. I think Hubs thinks I'm crazy.
@abyrd1227 Why are you worried about not finding a house in time for baby? Baby needs very little space at first and you'll have several months after birth before the baby really needs it's own space.
Pretty sure I've felt the baby a couple times. Felt like flutters in my lower abdomen.
Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple
We are both team blue but find out officially at 20 weeks visit. We will be happy either way honestly.
Worst advise that has been given to you to date?
Not really advice but all of people I know freaking out about me going to Cancun and the zika virus. I am a nurse and have done my research and know how to protect myself. Plus my midwife and my mother, who is a midwife and nurse, are not concerned. Let me go on vacation and enjoy myself.

Enjoy yourself and try not to overthink too much.
Current fears/anxieties?
In the beginning, being so afraid of miscarrying or having a blighted ovum, my sister had one, and gaining a bunch of weight. I have issues with body image which I'm working on. I lost almost 60lbs and then gained 25 of it back before we got pregnant. I was trying to lose the weight when I found out we were expecting. So just trying to keep my weight gain at a healthy number.
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO?
Well I am 33 and he is 29. We actually met on eharmony after being pestered by my mom to give it a try. It was love at first sight for both of us. We have been together for almost 1 1/2 yrs. We aren't married or engaged yet but it is in the works. We both know what we want and that is a lifetime with each other and children. So excited to start this journey with him.
Any Movement? I think I felt something a couple of nights ago. Like a dot of throbbing a couple of inches below my belly button. 6 or 7 times in a row. Nothing as significant as that though. I've decided that I'm just going to assume that any feeling is actually baby. It's more fun thatway!

Worst advise that has been given to you to date? Wow! Nothing like some of you have heard!
Best advise that has been given to you to date? Not necessarily the best, but some recent advice was to introduce a bottle early if you're going to rely on it for work etc at some point. I know this contradicts a lot of other advice about when to introduce the bottle, but I thought it was good to think about. She said that with her first, she tired the bottle later and her daughter wouldn't take take it. She felt like she couldn't even go to the store because her daughter wouldn't eat otherwise. With her second she introduced the bottle early because she figured even if it was going to be one or the other she would rather pump and use bottles and at least have some freedom.
Current fears/anxieties? I think Ialways have some small degree of worry that there will be a problem with the pregnancy. I'm trying to not worry so much since there's so much I just don't have control over. I just have to do my best to stay healthy and go to my appointments . There's not much else I can do.
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO?
Hi! Nice to see so many other first time moms. My husband and I have been married for almost 3 years. We're both in our late 30's so getting a late start on parenting, but we're very excited. It took us 2.5 years to get pregnant. It wasn't fun to wait, but I really feel like this baby is coming at the right time. I'm a preschool teacher and he's an RN. We have a 1.5 year old husky/shepherd mix who is our first spoiled baby.
Any Movement? None- just pains sometimes but I don't think it's the baby? I don't know
Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple: green...
Worst advise that has been given to you to date? None really
Best advise that has been given to you to date? From my obgyn that everything is okay in moderation and you still have to be human (as in it's okay to get a spray tan once in awhile, highlight my hair and so on)
Current fears/anxieties? Worried about my 20 week scan coming up soon. I take a very small dosage of anti depressants and have multiple sclerosis so..... It's very nerve racking. It will be a level 2
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO? Got married in July. We are both teachers. Currently hav a dog who is my whole world- wonder how he'll do with the baby!
Again like I said these questions can be changed/added to whatever works.
To all you ladies tired of hearing everyone and their mother tell you "you just don't know until you have kids", " sleep now", "I did xyz and my kids are fine" I SO remember being there with my first pregnancy. I couldn't wait to be a STM so people would stop giving me all their unsolicited opinions.
For the most part, they have stopped with the second pregnancy. Try to ignore it and remember, your pregnancy, your child. Your experience may be worlds different from theirs or they may not remember the details very well anymore. You all rock on and do what works for you!
I am so happy about this thread! I'm late to add to it, but I'm hopping on anyway
How many weeks? 18w2d
Any Movement? Heck yes! Little stinker flutters away in there like crazy around the same time every day!
Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple I'll find out on April 27th!!
Worst advise that has been given to you to date? My boss advising us to eat fast food to get by because she is too damned cheap to give me the raise she committed to giving me over 9 months ago now, and I lost my second job so that was her solution.
Best advise that has been given to you to date? To watch out- people's true colors come out when you're pregnant, and to take no crap- just focus on yourself, the baby, and DH and maintain the happy bubble we have right now.
Current fears/anxieties? If I can't get a raise I will need to find a second job, but who the heck is going to hire me while prego? Most of the available PT jobs are unsafe for me or don't work with my current job's schedule. And I can't work two jobs once I have this baby! Probably not even after the next few months! *sigh* I hate money!
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO? DH & I have been together since St Patty's Day 2009, which is the day we met. We got engaged a year later, and married two years after that. We've been to hell and back, and we're stronger now for all of it. This is our first pregnancy, first baby. We were not planning it, not exactly trying, but we are thrilled and it's something we always wanted. We live in a beautiful big one bedroom apartment that we moved into in November of last year with our ridiculous dog, Romeo (a cockapoo going on 13 years old this year though he acts like he's 2), a gecko and a turtle. DH is in an apprenticeship program to become a licensed electrician, and I'm the manager of a local contemporary art museum, a little more than halfway done with my MA in art history.
Team Blue/Pink/Green/Purple We will find out on 4/27 hopefully!
Worst advise that has been given to you to date? Not really advice, but a women I work with told me in her home country (India) women are not allowed to wear heels the moment they learn they are pregnant. She said it in a way hinting that I shouldn't be wearing them. I just told her that was a bummer for those women. lol
Best advise that has been given to you to date? One of the nurses at my hospital suggested researching hypnobrithing, which I am glad it did. Taking class now and it has made me feel much calmer about giving birth.
Current fears/anxieties? Just that baby is growing and developing well in there. Can't wait for our anatomy scan to see him/her again.
Random GTKY Question? Since its the first , give a small (or big whichever you prefer) intro about you and SO? DH was a close friend of one of my cousin since they started high school and has been close with most of our family since then too. My Aunt told him he should ask me out a few years ago and he did. We have been together ever since!
