  • @vssbrm - I also wear something - two bracelets, one amethyst and one ...not sure actually what it is, but it has a fertility symbol attached. I wear them every day for my two embryos encouraging them to implant. I think it's lovely you have something like that, I find it really comforting myself.

@dragonfaerie - pineapple core is high in bromeline which is thought to aid in implantation... apparently.

  • Ooo, bummer @oxinfree :( I didn't realize pineapple could cause problems. I know that grapefruit can react funny with medications, but there's so many different things that our bodies can or can't handle depending on sensitivities.

  • @BingALing23 My thoughts and prayers are going out to your grandmother.  It's such a blessing when you have a good relationship with them.

@vssbrm Yup, I've got the patch on now and this is my second day of Estradiol.  I forgot the pills when I went to work today so I'm starting my 3x day kind of late.  But better late than never right?  Then I start the PIO injections next week.  So far I think the transfer is still scheduled for 27-APR.  I keep telling DH we're going to have a birthday baby for him.  His birthday is 18-JAN.  So, the due date would be pretty close.  I can tell that he likes to hear me say that. :) I haven't had any side effects (knock on wood).  I think it's just that I've been so crazy busy at work that it's helped to keep me distracted.

@dragonfaerie I'm going to join you and @vssbrm with the pineapple core as well.  In fact, there's a grocery store that sells it already cored.  I'm also using the 31 days of prayer to keep my mental and emotional health right so I'm not stressed during transfer along with other quotes and prayers that I've collected throughout the process.  When I went to the ER I took my bible with me and read it before I fell asleep with the anesthesia.  I'm going to do the same for the FET.

  • @zantster That's great! DH and I have been reading the prayers every night together. I love that you read until you fell asleep.
I wore my Tree of Life shirt to the ER. One of the nurses told me that the Tree of Life is also a symbol for the placenta, which is great, so I'll definitely be wearing that to the FET too. I'm not superstitious, but symbols that help you stay focused and positive are good.

  • I'm doing the progesterone vaginal applicators for the first time ever. Also on medrol and antibiotics. Will start estrace after transfer. I heard that the progesterone can leak out. Does that take a while to happen or does it start happening on the first or second day?

@Drove2u it took a few days for me for any significant discharge (when doing IUIs), but I def advise that you have panty liners handy. The more that builds up, the more that leaks. I am a bit relieved we are doing the PIO.

  • @vssrbm thanks. I actually asked for the shot instead. Haha. I rather do that too. But they said no.
  • @Drove2u i will echo what @vssbrm said about the suppositories and pantry liners. I hated the morning ones since I put them in before going to work and there was always a lot more discharge than at night. Ive never done PIO shots but they sound scary and painful. I'd rather deal with the messy suppositories

  • @cmmxv8 Congrats on your transfer and on your fabulous attitude! Hopefully it's contagious to all of us! I truly believe that being positive attracts good things ( Just gotta remind myself often  ) I looked up the fertility affirmations, and they are great, thanks for sharing! Also i did not know about St Gerard... Or pineapple. I pray to my Grandma and my uncle gave me a little image of John Paul II that i take with me to all my appointments
I guess i have to step up my "voo doo" game lol

@drove2u Sending you good vibes for great news on Saturday.  I love to hear that you are feeling better and that everything worked out great for the wedding, hope the outfit looks great! You have a fun filled weekend ahead of you, enjoy it, you deserve it!

@BingALing I am truly praying for your Grandma's well being, she sounds just like my beloved Grandma, she is not with us anymore but the love I have for her cannot be described. Praying intensely for peace, and happy days, and of course also for your beta tomorrow!

@oxinfree I also have high hopes for you, hang in there!

@Tulips29 Not silly at all!  We are waiting for PGS results and just told DH the other day that I just wanted to go to the clinic and check up on them... He thought i was crazy but hey! those are my future baby(ies)

@vssbrm Jeez I thought ET was a lot easier, sorry about those nasty side effects. How cool that you have those medals! Still wondering how you did that "spoiler alert" haha

I'm a little unnerved that my beta is the day after Mother's Day. Are you going to POAS? I do not think I will. What are everyone else's plans when it comes to beta and POAS?

  • @Drove2u I take progesterone at night, but it leaks out once I get moving the next day.  It's happened since the first day that I started the vaginal progesterone.

@oxinfree I'm so sorry, but still holding out hope for you.  My BETA was only 56 on the same day and I'm not sure that it would have shown up on a stick that day.  Will be thinking about you and sending prayers.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for both me and my Grandmother!

  • @vssbrm I always tell myself I won't POAS but I always cave in. My last iui I swore up and down that I wouldn't do it, then did it the day before beta, got a bfn and bawled the whole day. I'm going to try really hard next time not to POAS and take the day off work for my beta. That way I won't be crying at work if results are negative.

@oxinfree I'm sure you're feeling pretty hopeless right now, but I am still holding out hope for you.

  • @oxinfree my heart goes out to you.  I wish I had the words to make you feel better.  You are in my prayers.  Please feel free to vent and share anything and everything so we can support you.  Sometimes we try to be so strong but other times we just need to let loose.

@vssbrm I have no plans to POAS.  And if you don't that'll just make my resolve stronger to not do it either! :)  You know I didn't even realize that 27-APR is Mother's Day...Wow.  That really made me think about the significance of that.  To become a mother on Mother's Day knowing that somewhere up in heaven my own mother would be looking down and smiling just takes this process to another level.  Of course there are no guarantees that'll be the date.  Since, I have to get past all the bw/us exams and get the thumbs up.  But that's what's on my calendar at the moment so even the possibility is a beautiful thing.

@zanster oops, I meant the betas would be at Mother's Day, not the transfers. Sorry for the confusion!

I do have 1FRER at home, but I am only going to use it if I get a positive Beta. I would really like to poas just once and see a positive result!

You guys, I'm still so tired. I slept 9 hrs last night and at 2 this afternoon I could have went to bed again... I don't know about these meds...

  • @vssbrm that's even better!  Finding out on Mother's Day is actually more appealing than getting the FET on Mother's Day.  Great betas would be an awesome gift.  I would count a bfp as my first gift from the embie to me.
