I really hate when people post stuff on facebook that say things like "my true friends will copy and paste this" or "can I make a request, post this for an hour" etc etc. I just keep on scrolling :

so true. and honestly, they aren't keeping track. Sometimes I feel like a lot of people (on my FB) just mindlessly hit the share button without even reading what they're posting. I guess that's another UO for today lol.

This is a home interior UO and rant, so I apologize in advance.....

I hate the trend that is gold fixtures and marble in homes these days... I should say that, while I love seeing it, and I have a faux marble case on my iphone and on my mac, and I'm all about some gold, IT'S JUST SO SUPER TRENDY...I DON'T THINK IT BELONGS ON PERMANENT FIXTURES IN A HOME...Do people not remember the 90's? The brass fixtures everywhere? cultured marble? and how everyone tried to "update" that a few years ago? I just, I don't understand..

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about religion or where my views fall but those are usually about prayers and I always just want to post this...

For sure a lot of people just share. The amount of incorrectly attributed quotes and mindless bull-shit across my timeline is ridiculous. It's amazing what people believe because of Facebook memes

I had the same emotion when I first started seeing marble and now I love it!! But I wouldn't get it because I know it will lose its trend soon. On another subject - I saw the faux marble macbook covers online and considered getting one - do you love yours? Do they look good in person?

I do not like corn. Frozen, fresh, cobbed, or canned (Ew!!). It just tastes blah. Plus, I really have trust issues with something that I chew and digest, yet manages to come out whole.

Yes, yes, I know it's "unpopular". I can honestly say I have only met one other person who didn't like corn my entire life. Maybe I should have saved this for FFFC. Haha!

@Steelerfan3878 I have to second you on corn. I'll eat it but I really just don't like it. It's something about the consistency. It's hard to eat on the cob and it's like eating tiny warm bursting eyeballs when it's off cob. lol.
Be careful with the corn and doggies tho. I was a vet tech and if they eat the cob it can block them up

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I need to rant.

I'm super pissed that if I get KU anytime soon, everyone's going to think I only did it because all of my cousins and friends are announcing that they're KU or just had a baby. No one knows, but we've been thinking about kids for a while now and we were NTNP before TTC, so it's not like this is a new attitude for us. We've always said we'd like a year of marriage to ourselves, at least, and then we'd think about kids. My family will just end up thinking I did this on a whim though because everyone else is having kids.

It just seems like all the super irresponsible 18/19 year olds I know are all getting KU spontaneously from their on-again off-again SO's or one night stands, and people like my cousin and I are trying month after month without results (she's been trying for 10 months so she's really bummed out).

I just can't with life's unfairness right now.

@MelissaM090 Agreed! He is a super good actor but he's just too weird for my taste...

ETA: @PaukMeKiande I'm sorry you feel that way! I have 5 friends that have had babies in the last month and 3 more friends that have announced their pregnancy recently as well...it's frustrating to feel like everyone will think you're TTC or PG just because "everyone else is doing it". Hugs!

I love reading The Onion comments, people really believe it and it makes my day.

My UO is that when I have a baby shower (yes, when, I'm an optimist), I don't want to open presents in front of everyone. I had to open presents at my bridal shower and it's so weird. I don't think anyone likes it. It's awkward for the gift opener and everyone watching. Especially if you gave someone a smaller gift than the person before you. Do you think it's rude if I wait until everyone's gone to open anything?

YES. I hated opening gifts at my bridal shower. I found I felt pressured to keep up a running commentary with lots of exclamation points the whole time and there's only so much you can say about both towels, you know. I have 0% problem being the center of attention and I hated it so I can only imagine how people with any sort of social anxiety feel.

If it makes you feel any better, my BFF is pregnant right now and about three to four months after she announced her pregnancy, I told her that DH and I were going to start trying. She responded with a, "Are you sure you really want this, or is it just because I'm having a baby before you?" Ugh...DH and I had been planning on it for a while. I'm not 12. I don't make major life decisions based on what other people expect.

I'm sorry that you're going through that. Big hugs to you!

@melissam090 and @ratparade I also hated opening gifts in front of people. I'm an introvert as it is, so doing that was draining to say the least. It's funny how leading up to your engagement you can't wait for all the stuff like showers/bach parties etc.. and then when they get here, they just aren't that fun. It almost seems like work!

@RatParade - I second you! I hated opening the gifts at my bridal shower but my mom forced me. (Ha! that sounds funny coming from a 31 year old woman) She, and everyone I know, said it's just part of the party and it's what you have to do. But you know what? F-that! If and when I have a baby shower, I'm not going to open the presents in front of everyone!

Given some of the previous comments, I guess this is an unpopular opinion, but I like the gift opening portion of showers and, I have to admit, I would be a little irritated if gifts weren't opened at a shower I attended. I mean, the whole purpose of a shower is to "shower" the guest of honor with gifts so I do think it's an expectation. I agree that it was awkward to open presents at my bridal shower, but I also feel that if people are spending the time/money to give me a gift and attend the party, the least I can do is open it.

Opening gifts at my bridal shower was the most awkward thing ever. But, I also think it depends on your audience. A lot of people like looking at all the cute baby stuff, and want to see what you got. My family, for example, would be upset about not getting to see all the gifts. I think seeing baby shower gifts (cute little outfits, toys, etc.) is more exciting than the toasters and bedding sets that you typically open at Bridal Showers.

That being said, I think that you should be allowed to do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

My UO is that I can't do tea. I don't like it at all... but I am going to try the green tea thing to see if it helps me along. I think tea tastes like gross juice you put too much water in.

Agreed. I love the way it smells (the flavoured ones at least) but then it never tastes like it smells. I referred to it as 'hot garbage water' on a post last week. But now I think I want to try green tea for CM and I'm trying to figure out how to do it so that maybe I actually enjoy it.
