This board is really starting to slow down now that moms are having their babies. I really love seeing the squish pics and birth stories, but I wouldn't like this board to die out immediately after. These babies are going to have their own stories afterward.
Got a text from my mom asking for the exact location of the hospital, since she doesn't want me (our my husband) to have to try to help her with directions when I should be focused on delivering a baby. Um, given that we've specifically and repeatedly told folks that no one is welcome at the hospital until she's born and we're ready for visitors, that wouldn't be a concern. Congratulations, though. Since that message is clearly not getting through, you've just guaranteed that we won't be informing you at all when I go into labor! Oh, that means you may not meet your granddaughter until 24 hours or more after she's born because you need time to arrange your affairs and drive the 4 hours to get here? Huh. That sucks. Guess you should have thought about that before making it clear that you have no intention of respecting your daughter's boundaries.
I'm so upset with my body for not producing like I want it to...BFing is so much harder than I expected, and I started out expecting it to suck.
Also, I really, really wish my ILs would go away. I just want to lounge topless on my couch all day while cuddling my baby. They just sit there watching tv and I have to go hide in my bedroom to feed her because I'm not comfortable whipping out my tatas around SFIL. MIL keeps walking in on me nursing and while I know it's natural, etc etc, I just want to be left alone. My body looks and acts crazy, my hormones are way out of whack, and the only people I'm ok with looking at me undressed are my husband and my baby. Ugh.

Hope things get better soon, my finances brother walked in on me yesterday because he just walked in the house without knocking. It's super frustrating

Wow. My concerns exactly. I've put it out there to my MIL and SIL that I won't be accepting any family or friend visitors for a few weeks. Hope my FIL doesn't think to make a trip here just because, to bring food, or whatever other reason. It was nice they brought chicken soup when I was discharged after a false alarm but I have to admit it was really uncomfortable. I felt like I had to entertain them when they kept saying "go ahead and sleep" then kept talking to me. Taking a quick nap in the bedroom felt like being a bad host sneaking away when guests were there. But of course, my in-laws don't get that. My side of the fam tends to leave you be until they're sure you're feeling better.
Once again my BFM goes out to my cervix, which at 40+1 is still at barely a cm.
BFM #2 goes to my landlord, who told us a plumber would be by at 2 today and didn't tell us when plans changed and the guy showed up at 9 am instead.
BFM #3 to the plumber, who just LET HIMSELF INTO OUR HOUSE and scared the BEJESUS out of me.
And finally, BFM #4 to my hospital, who won't induce until after 41 weeks. And since I hit 41 weeks the day before the Boston Marathon and the hospital is right on the course, it may not even be until 41+2. I'm SO DONE WITH THIS.
I was literally about to post asking if anyone else's boobs hurt after breastfeeding. Not nipple soreness, but like I swear my milk ducts are getting sharp pains after every feed. Very uncomfortable and not enjoyable at all...
A day late but my BFM goes to every single Co worker who asked why I was still at work. I did get kind of snotty, (I like money? Because my baby won't just pop out? Because I am not due for another week?) And it is probably a good thing Friday is my last day...unless she comes early or the hospital decides she shouldn't be induced until 42+.
#2. Our realtor encouraged us to take an offer on our house for 15k below list price and has help at closing knocking our new price down almost 23k. The house has been on the market four days. Sorry try again.

Yup, same here. When I breastfeed on the left breast, I feel acute pain on the right breast, as if I can feel the milk ducts filling up with more milk. The midwife told me it should feel like a tingling sensation. That's some lit up kind of tingle!

This would really piss me off. Half of my time at home is spent topless. I accommodate the occasional guest in the afternoon by putting a top on but I couldn't image relatives camped out in front of the tv and me holed-up in my room. I wholly sympathize.

Ugh, I'm sorry, @AmadorRose. That really sucks. Have you tried pumping a little bit? Not a TON, but it may help with your supply. The LC I met with suggested it and it seems to have helped us quite a bit.
As for the MIL- I had lunch with mine yesterday (they live in the area) and I'm just so thankful she isn't staying with us or I would lose it.
I know it's Tuesday, but here's my rant. Nobody warned me that giving birth to a 9+ pound baby would be easier than pooping a week later. When does this get better?!?!

I gave birth to a six pounder and I DREAD number two. I've recently started taking stool softeners. I think things are looking up.

Sorry... I did rant about it when it happened to me. I would rather give birth again than go through that a second time... On top of the obvious constipation, I have hemorrhoids, and stitches very close to that area. I pretty much screamed when it did happen

I did (mostly) OK till this morning. I was literally in tears. I've been having BMs pretty much daily, but today really did me in. I need an epidural...
I cannot believe DH. I'm trying to get DD2 to nurse and DH takes her so he can Skype with his family. Not cool dude. Also, fighting with me that she needs to stay swaddled when I need to get her stripped to wake her up to eat is going to get him a punch to the face.

I'm sorry, that sounds terrible. I have to breathe through my BMs but I don't think I'm experiencing the same amount of pain.

When I got up this morning, she was making breakfast for herself and SFIL. She did not offer to make anything for me, nor has she the entire time she's been here (over a week), despite using MY groceries to overfeed herself and her husband. We also pay when we go out for meals despite her husband's pension and 401k providing them far more money each month than our incomes. But I'm the rude one because I speak bluntly...I swear to everything holy my husband is lucky I love him so damn much.
Also, I'm not sure what kind of stool softener you're taking...I take colase twice a day and drink apple juice, which has always gotten me going. If you're taking something regularly and still having that much pain, you may want to talk to your doctor about getting different meds...the downstairs has been through enough without retraumatizing it when you go to the bathroom.

@AmadorRose Yeah, that is awful of them! Does your DH not see how rude that is? I would be so pissed if my in-laws did that. Ugh, my blood is boiling for you.
@AmadorRose have you heard of this? I had multiple moms suggest it to me in case I needed help in production. I also used this brand for raspberry leaf tea to help prep my uterus for contractions and I have been using it to help with the shrinking of my uterus. I hate tea tbh but it's not too bad.
@JulienneNicole I used the raspberry leaf tea as well and plan on trying this the next time I go grocery shopping. @brandi81012@bunnywahl DH is Hispanic and his mom was the only light in a pretty shitty childhood, so it's a double whammy. He did finally stand up to her this morning...but then she cried. She means well, she's just a bit emotionally immature. I am SO GLAD we live as far away as we do...and next baby, I'm not allowing visitors for at least a week PP. They leave tomorrow, though!
Re: BFM 4/11
It's a boy! Grow baby, grow! EDD: 4/22/2016
Stupid neighbors and their late night music and surrounded sound. I already have a hard time sleeping with ear plugs and a kicking baby.
