Deals, Steals and Freebies

Hey guys, I saw this on another BMB and thought it would be helpful to have a thread to post sales, free samples, deals, etc for baby stuff we still need to buy. If you're like me, you're stocking up on diapers, and lately Ibotta has had a ton of money back rebates on diapers. They have had weekly deals for $5 for purchasing a box of Luvs, which I bought on sale at Target, using a 15% off cartwheel deal. Over the past 2 months alone, I've gotten enough Ibotta rebates to cash in $40 in Amazon gift cards, which I used to buy items from my registry, which then entitled me to a welcome box with tons of samples, and a few full size items as well. All for diapers I need to buy anyway. They also have some for Pampers, which I stack on top of sales, manufacturers coupons, and digital coupons from Kroger/Publix.

And if you have a target registry, you can get a welcome bag at the Customer Service Desk with a full size bottle, tons of samples, BOGO coupon for Starbucks, diaper/wipes samples, and tons of other coupons.

If you've gotten a great deal on baby items lately, or have received free samples, share here!

  • @sdlindenberg I was told by an associate that if your bag didn't have everything, go get another! They got new supplies in mid-March, so I'd try to get another one. I'm waiting on my free box from Amazon, so I'll post what it includes when it comes. They lost my first box, so I'm waiting on a new shipment. I'm hoping I actually get both! All I had to do was add something from every category to the registry, then buy something worth $10 off it, and then I was able to claim the welcome box. Normally, it's $35 to purchase without a registry.

I didn't start a BRU registry, but I might just for the completion coupon and starter bag.

I got a bottle, 2 newborn diapers, a pacifier or two, and a bunch of sample items in my box from Amazon.

I also got a bag from Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us.  I never made a Target registry, but I should.

  • I may or may not have gone to Target more than once for the free bag and coupons. But buy baby had the best bag but it might be different In different stores. Also, the Amazon thing, I think you have to be a Prime member. Their diapers are the cheapest per count I've seen around.
  • @kwife15 and with Amazon prime/mom you can get them shipped to your door every month so you don't have to run to the store.

I saw saw a preview of next weeks Target add and they are going to start carrying the Bob jogger and they are going to have it for under $400 next week and it retails around $500 I think.

The sling, pillow, and car seat canopy you can find for "free" all the time but you have to pay a ton in shipping.  Even if the sling was completely free, I personally wouldn't get it because it's not the quality of the branded ones--and something that is supposed to hold my child without the use of my hands, I want it to be good quality and know that I can trust it to do its job.

  • @kwife15 I may or may not have gotten a few Target bags as well!  @tnvols27 Just tell them you started a registry online and need a welcome bag. They never checked my registry or asked questions, just handed it over.

    Awesome, thanks!
  • I just signed up for a registry event at BRU. I already have a registry there but it said to come learn about the "must haves" so on and so forth. I signed up because it said there would be freebies and raffles. Has anyone went to a BRU event like this? Wondering if it's worth it.

I went last time. I got a bag of stuff and won a free grooming kit. They gave away a bunch of stuff.

I went a few months ago and I got a box of diapers, travel diaper change kit, and grooming kit.  There were only a few people at mine so we all got a lot of stuff.  They didn't do the raffle until we had been there for at least an hour

Yeah I live in a very small town too so I'm thinking there won't be a lot of people there and more chances to win stuff.

sounds like it's worth it! Thanks ladies!

I live in a suburb of Chicago, so I was surprised there were so few people.

    Make sure you register though.

If you sign up for Similac Strong Moms they send you formula coupons and some generous free formula samples. If you tell them you're breast feeding I think they send you a vitamin sample and some nursed bottles of similac for supplementing.

  • Kind of along the same lines. Apparently many walmarts allow you to order your purchases online and they will collect them and put them in the car for you for no extra charge, also, and I am not positive about the fee associated with this but I have heard $7 that some stores offer grocery delivery too. Total mom win!!!

I signed up for the Saturday event too. Where did you see how many people had signed up? It said there were 100 spots available but I don't remember it saying how many of those were booked. But yes, same thing! I'm hoping only a few people will be there and I'll get more stuff!

Its all based on your location. Where I'm at, theres only one store within a 25 mile radius and they're always stupid busy on the weekends with moms that are seriously like 5 weeks pregnant..... lol. I went in this past weekend to get more nursing pads and I got the NASTIEST looks from some of the ladies there!! I think I pissed one off when I snaked a front row 'expectant mother' spot from her. But when I got out of the car and she realized that I'm about three times her size (it was clear she wasn't very far along, and her mother confirmed that lol), I think she was less mad. Haha

  • @sdLindenberg oh my goodness! What a twat! Lol

my BRU is the only one probably within a 100 mile radius lol but it's a super small one. I've never seen more than 10 people in there at once. I just looked back on the site and it says 99 spots available so I'm guessing I'm the one and only person that's signed up so far.

Also with Amazon don't feel like you have to add something from every category. You can also 'check off' a category without adding an item from it to complete your list if you don't need that type of thing.  And be careful when you put the welcome box in your cart. The first time I did it I added it and didn't check out right away and when I went back it was listed as full price. Make sure the free part processes!  Mine is arriving tomorrow I think, I'll try to remember to share what I get!

  • @VikingGirl12 - Yes, you do need to have Amazon prime/mom. I share prime with H and since he is the main account holder I had to start the registry and order the box on his account.
  • Target has a 40% off cartwheel deal on maternity dresses, but it ends in 3 days. There's also a few small ones on diapers and a really good one on Enfamil formula.

Yes you need to be a member of prime. I never thought I needed it but for $99 per year you definitely pay more than that in shipping if you just buy a few things annually. There was a sale back in late Jan/early Feb where Prime was only $79.  Keep watching I'm guessing that happens from time to time.

  • @lynnernon The box doesn't become available until the $10 order ships. So it will be on a separate order later.
  • @vikinggirl12 Yes, you have to be a Prime member. But I have to say it's definitely worth it because there are lots of benefits other than shipping. You get Amazon Instant Video, Amazon Music, there's a photo cloud storage app with unlimited photo storage, a free Kindle book each month, you can borrow books from the Kindle lenders library, Prime Pantry, early access to lightning deals, 20% off diapers through subscribe and save, 15% completion coupon for registry items, 2 hour Prime now delivery in certain zip codes, restaurant delivery in certain zip codes, and you can share your benefits with family members, and split the cost. I share my account with my cousin and in-laws. They don't get all the benefits I do, but they pay a bit of the membership fee, so we all end up saving a ton of money.

  • Definitely going to check out the Amazon one but if you have a Buy Buy Baby in your area definitely go there for the gift bag they give out to registry peeps! It was FULL to the top of samples: bottle, nipple, breast milk storage bags, wipes, a travel diaper/wipe holder, moisturizer, diaper cream, pacifier, two types of formula (one for supplementing with breast milk and one regular) and TONS of coupons... that's just what I can remember right now. I think what's in there varies by location, but totally worth checking out!

  • @mynabird I definitely wouldn't pay $35 for it, but I'll take all the free samples I can get! It's strange yours wasn't that great. I've seen pics of other boxes and they were much fuller, some even had full sized toiletry items. I guess it depends on what's available at any given time, which I guess is the same for Target/BRU, as I've heard a lot of discrepancies based on location and availability.
